They were fast, even R.E.D was perfectly well at keeping up with her own skills. The one thing Lucas liked about this opportunity was the fact that 3 school from very different parts of the land were coming together to battle as one, to create and preserve peace as one unity. And in the back of his skull... he wanted to hope that this team would continue out in the future... it has been a long time since small groups were notable in history.

When they finally got to a clearing, it was there. The Well of Immortality was spectacular. There was one round, flat pool of clear, almost sparkling water. It seemed eternally deep, but shallow at the same time. It was fairly simple. From it the ground around was decorated elaborately with silver and marble. In a hexagonal shape there were 6 great pillars housing clear crystals at about 4 feet high. It truly looked amazing. But one thing made it all look... out of place. One man was across the way. His face was cracked, dull and red around the eyes, his eyes themselves were orange. He wore a tattered robe and a hood over his face. When they first got there they had stopped to investigate, but when Lucas found the man there staring back at them he couldn't have acted faster. Swinging his sword round elaborately two masses of light flung to his blade where he swung again and let loose a few blades of light that struck the man on the other side of the well.

'Scarred have no place on this island!' he shouted as it turned to ashes. Then there were shuffles coming from the far bushes. 'Quickly!' he said without pause 'Protect the well! We can't let anything or anyone drink from it less we let the world suffer to fire!'. It was indeed the forces of the Scarred... the dark, horrific natives of Bloodholme that are the protagonists of children's bedtime stories. They evil that stops them from being naughty, the demented humans that walk with demon blood. The one that was just seen was a deeply tortured Scarred. We say torture, they say empowerement. Not all Scarred look so deathly, no, some are devishly beautiful whilst others mutilate themselves.

Lucas ran round to defend the front of the well, whilst Alexis and Laxion stayed on the back with R.E.D for ranged attacks. They hadn't a clue what they were up against. The Scarred? They never leave Bloodholme.. anyone knew that! It wasn't since the Jewel War that the Scarred were last seen off Bloodholme. Alexis readied her staff, electricity flowing within its circuits and Laxion had his spear pressed against his arm and back.

Teamwork... is key.

As they all surrounded them, Lucas realised one thing. These were weaker, these were the scoundrels of Bloodholme. 'Take no guilt in taking lives! These are lower ranks and of no guild, not even the conclave!' he said as he held his blade out to his side, gathering light. 'For these are the vermin of Bloodholme!'. At the precise same time the others nodded and then they replied to R.E.D's game. Laxion was the most surprised to have her talk so friendly. Alexis who was right beside her looked at her from the side and smiled, teeth showing like it was more fun than defending their lives here. 'Got it!' she said, then Laxion beside her almost grinned and finally seemed to be growing on them. He looked ahead and reading himself again as the foreboding onslaught. 'Who said that fighting can't be fun' he then said.

Lucas then let loose the first attack, one clean sweep of his blade let out hundreds of flying orbs of light than spiraled and jumped and impacted the ground that hunted down each enemy. Many fell, but many came from the back!.

Atleast the number's weren't in army size... but this was atleast 20 to each one person. Luckily the ground here was large and open. And even luckier, they were only coming from that one direction. But some managed to go around the side of Lucas from the bushes around them, this was where the Team come in! Laxion jumped forwards with a gust of air as he shot his speartip into a tree, he then spun round it gathering some Scarred men as they got strapped tot he tree. He then pursued slaying them one by one, though some were good at dodging. Alexis then joined the shuffle from the back, using ranged spells of arcane and lightning. The scarred were specialised in spells to cause pain and destruction, throwing balls of fire and wielding ragged rusty blades. Some of the more skilled of them causing black smoke and disruptions to the earth below them.

These number's shouldn't be too hard. The enemies attacked like savages! But with the obvious teamwork now in play, each of them counting kills, heads were rolling.

These god forsaken men were worthless, all the better to throw them down into the firing lane! She had plenty more. The day was bright and the world was unsuspecting, unknowing that a Jewel still had an owner, that the Scarred still had a leader. That the Maiden of Torment was still alive! Standing in the ocean, sacrificing those Scarred that had done her wrong, their blood rejuvinated the Crimson Jewel's powers as a devotion of justice!

With its power the barrier was penetrable, and by now.. En'radial was through. Everyone was being slaughtered, her men were dying quickly but just as many were coming back. And there were some noble warriors here too! Whatever. Along with everything that made it obvious she was not natural, was how tall she was for a lady. Standing at almost 6 foot, her armour and tainted skin showed she was connected with the Scarred. Thankfully, the last time men set gaze on one of the lords of hell such as herself... she was in a different form.

Laxion jumped to the air and used a burst of wind to make a clearing around them all, Lucas used one great sweep and Alexis summoned a fury of arcane bolts from the heavens to home down on targets. And just as everything seemed to clear, one taller, feminine figure stepped forwards along with more Scarred behind her. 'Enough!' her voice was seductive as well as angry. And it also had a slight hum to it.

The Crimson jewel was disguised as a regular red giant gem in her armour, exactly on her chest. Unlike the Jewels in their natural state, they usually come with a silver or gold outer shell which is made of elaborate patterns that vary. The Crimson Jewel once had a triangular golden shell that still revealed the majority of the gem... but not now.

'This is my island now'

Whilst the others stood back to judge the new foe, Lucas gazed in awe as R.E.D rushed to do her duty. En'radial watched as a very apparently strong albino girl came towards her with great speed. Like a clash of lightning, the maiden of Hell pulled one of many blades up as she defended herself. 'No!' Lucas yelled, but to his surprise R.E.D was okay. The two were in a balance of strength.

En'radial laughed behind her teeth, it was like she knew something that R.E.D didn't. 'Fear me!' she shouted as she pushed forwards to get R.E.D back some way. 'This is the dawn of Hell, maggots. Leave now to spare some meaningless time in watching your world burn again'. She then pulled a second blade with her other arm.

Alexis could then see more Scarred coming from the other side. And she then realised what she had to do. She didn't speak to them until she had already popped some latches from her staff. It almost looked like a tripod now, and as she thrust it into the ground she shouted 'I'll stop them from coming in, you deal with kill no. 50!' she finished with almost a grin. Suddenly transparent holographic screens came out from the orb, she set some options and swiped the screens around to change each setting. And when it was done, she swiped the screens down where they vanished. Now she channeled arcane energy into the staff which created a giant arcane dome around them, preventing many more Scarred from getting inside.

'Oh, you really think so' she then commented back. The next attack came and Laxion couldn't see it going well! He knew R.E.D was strong... but that lady wasn't even struggling to stop R.E.D last attack! 'NO!' Lucas shouted as he tried to run closer, but Laxion was faster. Planting his spear head into a tree he shot over to R.E.D and let loose a blast of wind before grabbing her and being pulled back by his metallic rope. 'She's too strong Red!' said Laxion.

Lucas, after shielding his eyes from the gust, was nearby. 'The Well will never be yours! Scarred are forbidden and exiled in Bloodholme for a reason!' he then concentrated some more light in his blade. Gritting his teeth and speaking he said 'Demon children lack everything that's good... and I'm afraid justice will not allow it!' he said brandishing his blade and slamming it down to the ground. One great light blade shot towards En'radial but it was entirely absorbed by an explosion of fire.

From the smoke she laughed again, a red, bloody jewel glowing from her chest. 'Sure, the children are a waste of space.But what about their dear mother?'.

Lucas gasped, his eyes focusing on the jewel, he looked truly shocked and hesitated. Laxion stood beside R.E.D and said 'Wha- What does she mean?' he looked to his new companion.

When he were grabbed on the arm, he looked in her eyes and saw her care for him, but he shook his head and tried to stay calm whilst he said 'But if any of the Scarred drink from this well, they will be on par with the very Demon's of Hell!'
'Then what do we do?!' shouted Laxion. Then Alexis commented 'I may hate some people in this world..' she gritted her teeth as she put more power into the barrier to stop the onslaught outside. 'But i would risk my life for this world, and the mundane world!'

Then En'radial let out a face of disgust. 'You care too much. That is why you mortals and the Angels will fail to succeed!' she then sliced a Scarred beside her as it turned to ashes that spiraled into her jewel. 'I sense your torment... let it empower me!' she then let out her palm as a giant fiery ball shot for Lucas. But he lifted his blade and a great light blocked the molten explosion. 'Go' he shouted from over his shoulder. 'Go!' persisted Lucas again. 'Charge... the crystals!' he demanded. Thankfully he had briefed them enough to know how, normally it would be done precisely for the barriers endurance, but now was not the time, they just needed it to be recharged!.

'Who are you?!' he then shouted to the woman, threatening her with a blade of 8 foot light. She guffawed and fire began spreading from under her feet.

'Beware, beware, En'radial the Maiden of Torment' she said, quoting old poems written about hell used to scare most children of Occulas.

As R.E.D went off to charge the crystals with the others, Lucas was first stricken with further shock, then he concentrated, his brows narrowing. It would be hard for the others to charge all six pillars at the same time.. but he had hope in them. For what was a world without hope, Lucas sometimes even hoped himself that there were an Angel of one such aspect in the Heavens. Such a shame that Injustira never stayed long enough to answer our questions. Getting back to the task at hand he didn't want to believe that this was En'radial, one of the deathly Lords of Hell. A being of pure evil, deriving of the worst emotions born from mankind. 'I don't believe you' he then tried to say. But she gave him a frustrated look and said 'need i express further' she then pulled the jewel from her chest as it floated above her palm. 'This... IS... the Crimson Jewel. And i will return to Hell with Immortality water, and those judged under death' she paused and grinned 'Ive found that... that's how to replenish it' she then laughed.

Meanwhile Laxion rushed over to another column but upon reaching it he cursed under his breath. 'How're meant to reach four more at the same time?!'
'Hang on!' Alexis said, she took in a deep breath and then carefully wiped her hands down. Arcane energy then plastered itself along the ground, but now she was weak. It was obvious in how her shoulder hung. She left behind much of her arcane power so that it would continually feed the barrier power, but now she was without much of it. Getting to another she was ready, but three more remained. 'I can only copy myself once!' she then added, almost using the pillar to help her stand.

To begin the process, intricate patterns covered the columns. Ont he right hand side of each alcove where the crystal sat were an engraved circle with a line extending from the center upwards. Retracing these lines will begin the charging of a pillar. But... they needed two more ways of getting the last two pillars!
