Welcome!

Hello new members, and welcome to FEF's guild RP! Faced with the challenge of bringing together characters from many different continents and backgrounds, we crafted our very own Fire Emblem setting to roleplay our favorite characters in: Learania.

While the Tales of Learania thread is full of in-depth information, this thread is meant to serve as a quick and simple guide to the basic knowledge a new member should have before leaping headfirst into the RP. So let's get right into it!

1: The Door

If you've played Awakening, think of the Door as being something like the Outrealm Gate, but one-way. Underneath Fefga's Manor (we'll get to that in a moment) is an actual door that serves as a portal to other worlds, such as Tellius, Magvel, and Jugdral. It's connected to the entire area around the mansion, and links itself to doors in other worlds at random.

So how does it work? When a character walks through one of these randomly linked doors, they step into Learania instead of the building they intended to exit or enter. This doesn't mean they step out into Fefga's manor-- they can appear nearly anywhere, at random. A few examples:

- Tibarn was flying along the Gallian coast when he spotted a burning building and shoved his way in to investigate. As soon as he stepped through the door, he found himself stepping off a high wall around the Learanian capital city of Eyris, and is fortunate to have wings.

- Amelia was sent back to her home village in Grado in order to finally reunite with her mother, long-lost due to a bandit raid when she was very young. Duessel accompanied her towards the cottage where her mother was supposed to reside, as moral support. Amelia opened the door and stepped through, and found herself instead out the front door of Fefga's manor. When she turned, Duessel was gone, as was the village behind her.

The door also doesn't necessarily have to be a physical door! Sandstorms and sinkholes, town gates and clocktowers could all serve as portals through which heroes are called to Learania! You could fall into a lake and breach the surface of a completely different lake.

Doors can appear at any time in any world to sweep heroes away-- which is why Roy, at the age he was in Fire Emblem 6, can meet Hector at the age HE was in Fire Emblem 7! Characters can be plucked from any point in their personal timeline and dropped into Learania unexpectedly.

Obviously this can be rather traumatic, but you can choose to play that up or confront reality head-on! If you have any Door-related questions, don't hesitate to contact me on AIM (FiveShiftOne) or drop me a PM!

2: Learania

Learania is the name of both the continuity that our RP takes place in, and the name of the country out of which the FEF Guild is based. There are five explored countries, any of which your character could suddenly appear in:

1) Learania. The southeasternmost country on the continent, this is where the Guild resides, in its capital city of Eyris. Most FEF RP takes place here. Fefga's Manor, an ancient building appropriated by the Guild for otherwise homeless members to stay in until they can afford their own living space, is located just outside of Eyris.

2) Mordache. The northwesternmost country, mountainous and monster-infested. Ruled by the Baroness Charolais, Mordache seeks to expand its territory, and has a hand in most acts of war around the continent.

3) Adliana. A country of rolling plains, occupied by nomad tribes with a loose ruling council of elders who convene when tribes must come together and make a decision as a single country. Currently an ally to Learania, and just north of Learania itself.

4) Estarcia. The largest country on the continent, between Adliana and Mordache, heavily forested and well defended, the Church of Paggy is quite powerful and heavily influences the politics. The country is known for its great wealth, and while most commoners are still quite poor, many of them strive to imitate the cultural quirks of the wealthy. Currently allied with Learania.

5) Sentria. Once a verdant and fertile country, now a barren desert dotted with small villages built around oases. Home to the continent's most powerful warring bandit clans, it is a dangerous place to appear. Currently allied with Mordache.

Any of our crew members can help you decide where would be the best place for you to enter the RP at any given time. An active thread is usually the best choice, but it's wise to check with one of us first so that we can help you make sure you know what you're getting into as a player!

3: The Guild

The Guild is both here, on Gaia, and an actual group in our roleplay, one that most player-characters (or PCs) eventually join. It is a loose confederation of the temporospatially displaced, aimed at helping those displaced persons integrate into society. For some time, before the return of its king, the Guild served as the ruling body of Learania, but now acts in an advisory capacity. The high proportion of heroic members means that FEF's involvement in any conflict tends to turn the tide of the war.

The captain of the guild is Nino, while Vice-Captain Rath handles most matters regarding membership due to his vast experience and leadership qualities. Under Rath, several crew members assist with various aspects of both guild policies and military matters: Tibarn, Amelia, the Fire Dragon (everyone calls him FD), Isadora, and Ayra. Each of these characters is played by an OOC crew member.

The Guild helps people adjust to the sudden change in setting, and provides housing to new members.
