 His reputation as a pirate was serious business. For instance, there were certain things pirates would never do. They would never be generous, they would never ask for help, they would never wash two days in a row and they would never eat ice cream. The last being a big problem for Jolly Roger because he really, really wanted an ice cream right now. It was a hot day at the park and he was located in the shade, watching giggling children buy up all his ice cream from the friendly vendor. But no, he couldn't be seen doing anything so fun. So he stood there and scowled. Syusaki double jolly let's do it!

She loved sweets. Wasn’t that part of the reason why she was called Jolly Rancher? Hard candies were her absolute favorite, but any sort of sweet was fine with the phony as long as it gave her the same wonderful yet guilty sensation of sugar melting in her mouth. Guilty because Jolly knew she had a habit to nibble one too many pieces of sweets for her own good. Someday she would be able to resist the sweet temptation of candy, but for now she really really wanted some ice cream.
Her tail flicked happily as pale eyes happily stared down at her cone of sugary goodness. Humming, she was prepared to walk away from the vendor in order to continue with her errands, but a scowling phony caught her attention. As she walked by him, she paused. “Ish shomething wrong?” she managed to mumble out.

His one blue eye settled briefly on the ice cream the filly was eating and then moved back to her face. Sometimes he thought it might be nice to be one of these happy-go-lucky phonies, able to eat sweets and play without any regard to their reputations. "Aye," he growled in what he hoped was his most menacing tone, "yer talkin’ to me." Wait, this girl seemed unusually pale. Was she sick? Had he just been mean to a sick girl? He hoped not.

Unfortunately, little phones could only be so menacing, and Jolly was hardly scurrying for the biggest tree to hide behind. She merely blinked and continued licking her ice cream.
“Yeah, I am,” she answered simply and between loud slurps. “Do you want some? It looked like you did sooo…Yeah.” She held out her cone toward him. “I’m Jolly, by the way. Jolly Rancher.”

There was a long pause. "... no."It was clear, in the way his one eye darted to the ice cream and then back to her face, that he did want some quite a lot.

She smiled as she stretched out her neck to take another lick. "Are you sure?" Jolly brought the cone closer to the other phony. "I don't mind if you take a bit as long as you leave some for me. It's really tasty, you know," she tempted.

He was tempted. Oh how he was tempted. Jolly Roger turned his face away as she pressed the ice cream closer. "Away with you!" Syusaki I can't even remember what element we were doing with this. Kindness for Rancher and Honesty for Roger?

She giggled. "Are you sure? You really look like you want some. It's not bad to be a little honest, you know." But Jolly reluctantly brought the cone back to her mouth to take another big lick. "It's really tasty."

She was persistent. Like a siren on the rocks, luring sailors to their death. This however was not death, instead it was ice cream and as Jolly Roger watched her take another lick, he thought that perhaps his pirate honour would not be stained by partaking in a small taste. Pirates were generally expected to go to excess on the things they liked anyway. "Aye..." he said finally, giving in. "I would like to try some."

Jolly beamed and offered her cone to the other phony. "See? That wasn't so hard, was it?" she giggled. "If you like it enough I can get your own. I don't mind." A pause before her face lit up. "Oh! By the way! I'm Jolly. Jolly Rancher. It's nice to meet you."

He already knew he would like it, even before he licked ice cream. It was delicious cool, so sweet and perfect and everything he had wanted. The pirate moved back, expression endlessly stoic. "Thank you," he said, frowning slightly when she told him her name. "I am Jolly Roger."

She paused as soon as he'd finally introduced himself. Jolly nearly dropped the ice cream, but managed to catch herself in time. "Did you just say Jolly Roger?" she asked, eyes wide and craning her head forward. Then the phony burst into laughter. "That's hilarious! Jolly and Jolly! I'm totally glad we got to meet."Ruriska finally got myself together uwu;;

"Aye..." he murmured, watching her expression with some alarm. Their names were an interesting coincidence, but hardly one warranting such a reaction. Was it really that funny? Did he really want to stay around long enough to get his own ice cream? Well... yes. "If you buy my an ice cream. I'll pay you back two-fold."
