Roleplayers: CoyoteSparrow & Roxy_roxanna2 Area: The Hartlands (idk Meadow?) Herla Involved: Magnus & NikeMagnus was starting to leave his mothers side more and more, mostly because he noticed she enjoyed her solitude, but also because he found himself restless. He loved his mother, but a life of seclusion wore on him and he often had to leave her side to sleep in places where we was less likely to set a fire. He'd learned by now how to recognize his own pleasant smoke scent versus the sound and smell of something burning. He still walked in careful sweeping steps and he still tried to hide his blindness from others, he didn't want to be seen as weak.
He paused as he felt something and lifted a hoof carefully realizing in time that he was about to trip over a root that had gone rather astray from it's tree. He cautiously stepped over it and shook his head with a soft sigh, some protector he was.
His ears twitched a bit as he tilted his head and debated if he'd sound foolish to ask if anyone was there.

Atlas sat pleasantly perched atop the long pink crystals growing from Nike's back. The hind was making her way through the meadows, but none the less, he stood alert, watching for anything that might obstruct her path. After such time together, all he need do was shift his weight and the hind would move accordingly. Nike herself listened carefully to the world about her, watching it with her ears and nose. There was a smell of burning, a smolder that was not typical of most fires. Still, the grasses were dry, and if they were set ablaze... "Come Atlas. We must find the source. If the medows have been set ablaze we must warn our family." Her world was nothing but fog, and dim splashes of color. She could still remember what it was like to see the lush greens and blues of the grass and sky, but with a walled heart she pushed those memories away. It would do no good to dwell on what was. She needed to focus on the things and events before her now, not dilly dally in that which had already passed.

Magnus remained silent instead, he knew that others required visual cues like smiles or nods and eye contact when greeting. He only knew how to mimic these things because his mother had taught him, her gentle nudges and nuzzles guiding him in moving his face and head in such a way so that his blindness was hidden/ Without his mothers help he knew he would be easily found out, he wondered often how she had managed as a yearling alone, it was no wonder she was so small.
Pulling his thoughts from his mother before he became too worried and returned to her he walked onward before he could set the grasses ablaze. He inhaled deeply hoping to catch the faint tang of salt in the air, if he could walk to the beaches or the mossy smelling delta he could lay down for a rest.
