User ImageJust moving was hard, labored breaths escaped as he staggered away from the dead rival mafia members. They had apparently been planning the ambush for a while and thought that the bloody twins, being still children, would be the easiest to take down before moving on to Boss and chicky rabbit apparently. So when Dum had gone out with Dee to slack because after all who was crazy enough to attack the hatter mansion, they had quickly separated the two. However they hadn’t counted on the fact that Dee and Dum could shift their ages to adult forms and the new strength and agility had caused the rival family to get rather dirty in their playing, well more dirty than they had started out.

Dum let out a slightly sadistic chuckle as he watched blood drip down to the pavement. They had been rather fun to play with and he definitely had to get the weapons. However he had to admit he had been rather careless and while he still had faster healing abilities, it still wasn’t as fast as he was used to back in wonderland. Maybe the chuckle was more he could actually be in trouble this time? His heart was still busy ticking away so the clock hadn’t been damaged. Dee wondered what the others would say. Boss wouldn’t care as long as he didn’t track blood through the mansion; although he was almost certain when Dum and Dee found him again he had gotten happier upon seeing them. He would get some lecture from chicky rabbit. Big sis had disappeared for a while which left just his twin dee.

He believed his twin would be both sad and not care at the same time. They worried over each other when they were hurt, but the second they learned the other was going to make it through or if they got into an argument it was back to the whole indifference thing. Hell some of the time they even tried to kill one another.

Suddenly his vision swooned and he eventually collapsed onto the pavement luckily his fall softened by the wall. He ungracefully slid down the rest of it. As his vision slowly darkened dum used the last of his energy to pull his legs upwards and rest his head on his knees. Hopefully his healing would kick in soon was the last thought he had in his head.

User Image Marise wasn't sure where she was, but that was okay in itself. Usually, she didn't know anything anyway, so being lost was fine. The world was not her native home, so what did it matter if she knew it? Her home was a white lab, sterile and yet so very empty, smelling of distress and loneliness. She could still remember the rooms. She could still remember small hands clutching long lab coats, hoping they wouldn't shove her off and instead pick her up into a hug. Yet, hands would sway and remove her, and she'd sit on a sterile ground, waiting.

And now? She lived in an apartment. She lived with a creature made from her DNA. A creature who loved her unconditionally. A creature who always seemed to change the subject when Marise asked how that very creature saved her. A creature who could tear apart houses and rip cars in half with nothing more than a twitch if she felt it. A creature who was childish despite that hostile, violent exterior she showed. A creature she loved. Semira. Her... twin? That's what they called each other, both unsure exactly what they were. She lived with Semira and was learning to bake and cook, and while it was a long journey she was finally mastering some meals.

Home was changing, always. She did not know if home would be the same tomorrow. She did not know if, tomorrow, Semira would rush home yelling that, again, they'd need to run. She didn't understand the world, and so being lost was fine. She didn't need to know where she was to feel content. She was just fine being lost. Semira would find her eventually, anyway.

And then she smelled it. A metallic scent, one blunt and familiar. Blood. Her head turned, and she spotted a male on the ground. He was injured. Quickly, without thinking, she approach, hands extending and touching the males face, lifting it gently. Soft eyes worriedly scanned the figures face, was he out cold? He was alive, though, but not for much longer.

"It's okay. I'll take care of you." She whispered, closing her own eyes and resting her forehead against the mans, inhaling deeply until, finally, that familiar feeling rose. The feeling of nausea as she felt her energy shift into the mans, leaving her body and extending into his hurt body. She could feel his wounds, as if in her own body, and feel them slowly healing, stitching together as she kept her hands and forehead on him. Pain. That sharp reminder that she was at her limit soon, and yet she kept pushing. This man needed her. He needed someone. He was alive, truly alive, and he needed someone to insure he'd take another breath tomorrow.

There. His wounds were healed, and suddenly the pain stopped. Her hands jerked away, head tilting backwards as her vision blurred and turned black. Quickly, she fell backwards, eyes shut and unconscious.

Lets hope he was at least kind enough not to leave her laying in the open.

Dum opened his eyes and was surprised to see a female slumped next to him. He frowned and wondered why he was awake so early. After all it wasn’t as if time worked the same way out here. He was healed way faster than he should have been considering his healing rate outside of wonderland. Then had this girl done something. Had she healed him? So she had powers like him right, was she another wonderland inhabitant. Ooh then it might be fun to kill her. It would be easy she was just sitting there defenseless.

No wait she couldn’t be from wonderland boss would have known if there
had been any new role holders and she wasn’t any of the ones he knew. He did point out to himself that he didn’t care to remember all of them, just the fun ones. After all it was mostly Boss’s job to deal with them. However there would be one way to tell right? If she had a heartbeat like Big sis then she was an outsider like big sis right They were kind or at least most of the ones he had meet which was truly mostly Alice, and he guessed those twins that wanted to sleep with brother where a little odd.

Sure enough as he listened she had a steady heartbeat. How odd that she would just come over here and heal him somehow and then pass out and sleep next to him in an alley. How strange. Perhaps she would be like big sis and fun to play with. Then again big sis was really fragile. So where heart creatures fragile. Ah well playing was more fun when they weren’t dead either He needed to get her out of the elements right. Well he couldn’t take her back to the mansion right. He’d never hear the end of it from chicky rabbit and dee might want to steal her too.

With a light hum he picked her up princess style before walking out of the alleyway. There had to be some faceless house he could stop by and it was summer in wonderland. Oh that was right he wasn’t going to take her to wonderland, who knows how that would affect the game although Boris’s kids had come over, Keris was part outsider and she was perfectly fine in wonderland. So he needed to find some abandoned house and if he couldn’t as a last resort then he would use the mansion but he really didn’t want to share her if she was all kind like alice.

Luckily it seemed like he found a house, after breaking in he set Marise down over in a corner before draping his suit jacket over her and going to get a fire started. Warmth, that was something important wasn’t it?

The woman took her time waking, but eventually her eyes fluttered open as the scenery changed. A jacket was draped over her, and she was at a counter. Hm? How? Wasn't she just outside? Small hands touched it as she stood, traveling into the nearest room. One hand lifted, brushing soft hair from her cheeks as she glanced about. Oh. A male was playing with a fire, and he seemed to fit the frame of the jacket perfectly. Was he the one she had helped earlier? Quietly, she stepped closer, soft eyes reflecting the gentle happiness she displayed on her face as she spoke.

"You're okay. I'm so glad." She whispered gently, smiling towards the male and crouching down on the balls of her heels. "I was worried I didn't do enough, or it'd be too late."

Her eyes flicked around, curiously cocking her head to the side. Was this the males home? It was nice. Nicer than hers. No, nothing was better than her home, she reminded herself. Her home was with Semira, and it was a safe one. One where she'd come home to someone who loved her. Still, this was a nice home.

Folding her arms over her legs, she rested her cheek on her forearm, the jacket still balanced on her shoulders. "Thank you for taking me to safety, sir." She added, nuzzling into the jacket slightly for warmth.

Well this outsider royally sucked, there was nothing there to start a fire with and he hardly wanted to go outside to look for logs or something. Of course the house was freezing so not having a fire was hardly an option. With a groan he slipped back outside to find something to burn, luckily he found the remains of wooden furniture and hauled them back inside. Making sure the girl was still very much asleep he tested his role powers on the wood and reversed time just long enough that the water was zapped out.

“Okay step one done; now I just need to start it.” He muttered mostly to himself. “Urgh if this outsider doesn’t have matches… I swear they’ll be my next tag target” luckily for the once owners there was still a box of brittle matches, that Dum was able bring back to life enough to spark a fire. By the time it was roaring he heard movement behind him and quickly turned around to spot the girl.

Of course the moment she talked, earned a frown from Dum, he knew that she was an outsider like Alice, having heard the heartbeat. So then why she was worried about him, was it just something all outsiders did? or? there where just way too many questions. Of course the question also caused his eyes to light up as he walked over to her. Perhaps he had found his own big sis, and this one he wouldn’t have to share. Or at least he wouldn’t have to share until Dee came by since they eventually shared everything together.

“Yep I’m okay, but really you didn’t have to heal me until you passed out. I’m made of stronger stuff.” Oh would that be insulting? He didn’t want to scare her off, at least not until he figured out if she was fun or not. “But I guess they could have come back while I was out cold so thank you” yeah that was how it went wasn’t it?

“Yeah no problem, you outsiders seem to be fragile and I’m not used to what you guys can handle. I’m glad you’re doing better now and seem to be up?”

The frown didn't faze Marise as she just flashed back a smile, head tilting to the side and causing short curls to slip over her shoulder. One ear flicked as he spoke, head shaking gently. Of course she had to heal him! He had been hurt, and it was her job to ensure the hurt weren't.... well.... hurt anymore? It was her purpose, or so the scientists had told her long ago. Lowering her head, she shifted and stood, stretching her arms over her head as she loosened the muscles in her body.

"Mmm. You're welcome. It was my pleasure." Lowering her arms to her side, Marise made a move to settle on the nearby couch, pausing when he mentioned "Outsiders". Outside of what? Curious eyes viewed him, lips pursing in thought. "Outsider? What's that?"

No matter what if it was completely an outsider thing being concerned about others, it was something that intrigued Dum. He was made to love qualities that big sis had after all and while Big sis definitely belonged to Boris this outsider didn’t have any wonderland attachments. It was like his own nice outsider. He had this sudden desire to learn more about them. So that meant he had to be friendly right? Ugh why didn’t he pay more attention to Boss when he was flirting with all those women?

“Yeah you have a heart and live outside of wonderland so that makes you an outsider?” Dum tilted his head to the side. Did the rules apply to some one who wasn’t playing the game? What could he explain, well that was if he wanted to explain.

Tilting her head to the other side, Marise reached forward and tapped a finger against his chest, right where his heart would be. Green eyes sparkled with merriment and her lips curved into a gentle smile, curiosity displayed.

"A heart? Don't you have one, too? Are you also an outsider?" An ear flicked, mouth tightening in thought. Now that she thought about it, was the thumping in her chest a heart? Was she like others? She wasn't born like normal people, and she had been created. Maybe her heart looked different than others? What then?

Dum blinked, and wondered if he had explained heart well enough? He wasn’t sure what a heart was really but he had heard what it was supposed to sound like and vaguely what it was. Figuring showing would be easier, he made small non-threatening movements before grabbing Marise’s other hand and bringing it slowly to her neck to feel her pulse. “That bump, bump bump feeling that’s a heart, like I said all outsiders seem to have them.”

“as for me, I’m not an outsider I’m from wonderland see” dum stated using his free hand to move Marise’s other hand to check his own ‘heart’ “Tick, Tick, I don’t have a heart like you do. I have a clock that’s what makes wonderlanders different.”
