Although I should probably get back to a paper I have to write, I kinda want to get back to this guild. Also I wanted to share some songs I have found over the years.
You all may already know about heavy metal bands playing songs with mythological themes, but four or five years ago I didn't. My brother introduced me to
Sons of Odin by Manowar. This was by far the most epic thing I heard at the time.
A year or so back I had already stopped looking up songs that had mythological themes and forgot about them. However, one day I ran into
Bard's Song by Blind Guardian. Granted it does not seem to be based on mythology (correct me if I am wrong), but it does have that sort of fantasy thing going on. Me being the blind fool I was never knew about them or the song they did about the Lord of the Rings. So, if this band was already popular enough that everyone knew about them sorry. For a long time I listened mainly to the fattest records, Disturb and other 90s metal and rock bands.
One last song I want to share is
The Asylum by Edguy. This song is proof that if you look up enough awesome songs others will come out of the shadows and attack. Seriously though, I ran into this song randomly after listening to Blind Guardians.
