One minute she was pressing the home button and the next minute she was there. Lenka opened her eyes and let out a rather excited squeal of delight. She was back. She was back and she wasn’t nearly as freaked out as she had been the last time she had gone up into space. “Yay! I did it!” She looked at Jett and beamed. “Look, Jett! This is Lenka! This is where I’m um…from, I guess.” To be honest, she wasn’t sure what the deal was with the place. She wasn’t born here…she was born in Destiny City…but she supposed…her Lenka side was born here.

“I mean. I guess I’m from here. The old me was from here, I know that much…and this place is why I’m the senshi of watermelons, and this place…” She let go of the blonde’s hand, gesturing around. “This place is filled with…stuff. And trees. Lots of trees…it’s very green here.”

She looked around, hoping for a spot they could sit that was not full of weeds and vines and all sorts of plant life, but it didn’t look like that was going to happen anywhere around here. “I guess we could have our picnic here…? Maybe we can pull a few weeds to try and get to the ground, yeah? Do you wanna help me?”

Helping the chibi senshi do some extreme weeding wasn't exactly on Jett's list of 'things to do before I die,' but he didn't make a fuss about it. "Sure," he replied, though realized that it was probably best he act a bit more surprised.

Remarque had been to Lenka before. Jett had not.

And this time he could relax and actually enjoy the asteroid.

…After he had a place to sit.

He stretched briefly as he scanned the area, looking for the least grassy area. Every direction he looked made him realize what a daunting task that seemed to be, though eventually he decided he'd found a suitable place a few yards away. He walked over, carefully stepping around the tangled plant-life, and wrapped his hands around as much grass as he could before tugging it from the ground.

A number of questions flooded his head—and now he felt comfortable enough to ask. He didn't have to worry about Remarque's reputation being ruined or looking like he didn't know much—and Lenka seemed friendly enough when you weren't powered up. He was going to get all he could out of this experience.

"So this place," he started, "Lenka. Can you get here whenever you want? Just pop back and forth from Destiny City, up here? —Are you all alone up here, or do you have little space aliens living somewhere on your…planet?"

Lenka blinked then gave a huge smile as Jett began to help her weed the…the weeds. “Thank you so much, Jett! And…” She tilted her head to the side, thinking on his questions for a moment before laughing and bending down, helping him rip up some of the plants. “Well…this is only the second time I’ve been here, but I don’t know. I think I can come whenever I want? I uh…I have a talking cat that I talk to sometimes…and she said that I can come up here once a week, I think once a week. I don’t really come all that often, but I could if I wanted to, I suppose.”

She tugged hard on a weed that was stuck deep in the ground, yelping a bit as she toppled over when it finally came up. “I don’t think there’s any aliens here, but who knows! There just might be somewhere, like I said, I haven’t gotten to explore and this is only my second time.”

This was fun. She would have to bring Jett up here more often…he could help make her asteroid beautiful again…not that it wasn’t already beautiful.

Jett had thought the logical thing to do would be would be to exclaim in shock and confusion about a talking cat and question if it wasn't just her mind playing childish tricks on her, but all thoughts of playing ignorant left his head when he watched the girl topple over.

And he couldn’t help but laugh.

"Lenka, you ought to be more careful. I don't want you hurting yourself. What would you do if you hit your head on a rock or something? I'm not a doctor, I wouldn’t know how to treat you. Would we wind up stuck up here or is there some way I could get us back home from here?"

He dropped the grass he was holding and wiped his hands off on his pants before extending a hand to the chibi, still seeming amused at her misfortune.

…It was difficult to even find her annoying like this. She didn't seem different than any other child. There was hope, at least, that she wasn't really some obnoxious brat.

She'd be more bearable if she could learn the Dark Mirror Court wasn't her enemy.

She scoffed. “I am being careful, Jett. That weed just was really attached to the ground and didn’t want to let go is all. Nothing I can handle. Remember.” She waggled a finger at you. “I’m the super hero here, I know how to take care of myself. Besides…this is um…this is my home. Thing. Or it was. I don’t know.”

The chibi flopped backwards onto the ground, looking up at the green tree filled sky. “It’s kind of confusing, to be honest. Especially when I don’t know. Last time I was here I got a strange image and it was like a memory or something. Like of before? I don’t know.”

She closed her eyes and almost as though it was called, a vision overtook her. It was the same blonde haired guy and her, but he was introducing himself. Saying hello. Saying his name. His name was Remarque. And he was lost. And she was laughing.

Lenka sat up, making a disgusted face. “You have got to be kidding me! I was friends with that jerk? We were friends?” She looked at Jett. “Maybe I don’t even want these visions. I think I was friends with my biggest enemy. Let me tell you. There’s this other senshi, a bad one. And his name is Remarque, and I keep having these visions about him! How disgusting is that! I hate that guy so much…”

She swallowed. Okay. So maybe that wasn’t completely true. “Maybe I don’t hate him that much…I just…” She shrugged. “I want to help him but I don’t think I can. And I don’t like feeling powerless, I guess. If that makes sense to you.”

Initially, Jett snorted at the outburst. Lenka was amusing, if nothing else. He wished he could have had the pleasure of laughing at her for a bit longer before she decided to get serious. He wanted to ask what she meant about 'before'. Before what? Before now? Before, when she lived on this hunk of rock and weeds?

He might have asked what exactly she meant…if she made sense. Jett wanted to burst out and defend himself, but that was a dead giveaway. Instead, he bit his tongue and waited for her to be finished speaking.

…And he disliked Lenka a little less.

"Oh, I hear you. Powerlessness gets me all riled up. Pisses me off. Or, sorry. Probably shouldn't swear in front of you. But I get the general idea. I hate it, myself. Trying your hardest, but not coming out on top?"

Just thinking about it agitated him. He scoffed and shook his head. "Maybe you should talk to him about it. About your visions, or whatever. Does he have them, too? Or are you just…I don't know, psychic? Are senshi psychic?"

He flopped down on the grass and opened the bag of burgers; they were still warm and he was still full, but he didn't want to risk them getting cold. Pulling one out, he held it up to the girl.

She nodded. “Yes exactally! And it’s not even fair. I’m the strongest type of senshi that I can be, but It’s all for nothing because I’m a dumb chibi! I can’t get any stronger all because I’m too young! I’ve been at this for over two years, and I’m stuck. I hate being stuck!” She reached down, ripping out a handful of grass and tossing it aside in agitation.

When asked if Remarque had the same sorts of visions, she shrugged. “I don’t know. I think what I’m getting is memories. Flashes of my past…from when I did live here. But, I was a different person then. So I guess…I was reincarnated? I don’t think he gets them….unless I went to his planet or something. I don’t know how this all works. My cat doesn’t tell me everything, even when I ask. She just looks at me and swishes her tail and is just like.” Lenka scrunched up her face, making her voice as high pitched as she could. “You need to figure things out yourself Lenka. I can’t tell you everything darling!”

The senshi scoffed. “She’s as bad as my mother sometimes. It’s crazy.”
PostPosted: Sun Oct 06, 2013 5:19 pm

Jett nodded again, though the somewhat confused expression he wore was not entirely an act. He was learning things—and made a note to maybe go out and chat people up while incognito. If Lenka seemed so willing to open up like this…

Well, hell. She was telling him everything he wanted to know; why should he wonder if other people would be more inclined to chat him up if he was powered down?

The cat impression, though.

That's what got him.

For a long moment he just stared at the chibi—and then snickered. And then laughed.

Shaking his head, he wagged the burger in her direction. "Take this, eat it. Before it gets cold. Maybe it'll help you get big and strong. I eat burgers all the time and, look," he peeled back a sleeve and flexed; he hadn't gotten to show off muscle mass in a hell of a long time.

"Serves me well enough. You know, if you want to get stronger you should try boxing. Your mother might nag—and your cat, judging by the sound of it—but it's good fun."

Oh—wait, no. No, don't let Lenka get into boxing. She was small now, but one day she might grow up. And even if she was a girl, he'd met quite a few who could at least hurt him. Just a little bit, though.

Hastily he tried to change the topic and asked, "But—anyway, those flashes of your past. You…get to see who you used to be? That's neat."

…Flashbacks from the past. So she could know more than he did, just because she got to come to her planet. She could know about this war—whatever secrets her homeworld held, whatever happened out there in space.

She could know who she used to be.

Who she was.

He tried not to seem too distracted as he waved the cheeseburger again, but he couldn't get the thought out of his mind.

She said she knew him. Knew Remarque.

So who was he?

Lenka took the burger and took a large bite of it, seeming happy. She eyed his arm and shook her head, swallowing her mouthful. “You see, Jett. I don’t know. If you eat lots of burgers, you’ll get fat. I bet that’s just fat on your arm there, and you’re pushing it up with your finger. Fatty.”

She took another delighted bite of her burger. Boxing. Well. There was an idea…and Jett did box, didn’t he? Maybe when she was Millie she could get him to teach her…that would be pretty cool. Pretty cool indeed. At least it was something new to think about. Not that fencing wasn’t enough exercise as it was…though she never seemed to get out and do it as much as she used to.

“I guess so. I mean, I’ve only had little flashes…like a broken television I guess. Maybe If I came here alone I’d get something more. I don’t know.” She patted the ground half lovingly. “I lived here in a past life…that’s just still so strange.” She paused, then laughed. “Though…I can trap people in watermelon rinds, so I guess I shouldn’t think that being reborn on earth is too strange, you know?”
PostPosted: Sun Oct 13, 2013 12:36 am

As soon as Lenka took a bite of her burger, Jett sank his teeth into his. It didn't matter if he'd been full just a few minutes ago, he was in space. Visiting a senshi planet—with no strings attached. "Sounds strange," he said, pushing the food to one side of his mouth as he chewed. It didn't take him long before he swallowed the bite and was going in for another. "Though, from the perspective of someone who has lived on Earth for all of his life and doesn't have some magical space planet to whisk strangers away to, all of this sounds pretty strange. Strange, but real, so there's not much I wouldn't be inclined to believe about senshi types. Just seems so hard to get information on them, you know? Not that I really go out of my way. Don't want to be labeled a terrorist or piss of the wrong people. I just take what information comes my way and work with it. Must be kinda nice to know that if you die there's a next life. But you're a kid, you probably aren't thinking like that."

He shrugged; it wasn't a thought he'd often had, himself, but it was something that had briefly crossed his mind whenever rebirth was mentioned. "I mean, theoretically you'll keep coming back, right? For as long as it takes to get the job done? —Whatever your senshi job is, anyway. Can you ever really die or are you like a little demi-god over there?" He grinned, trying to keep the mood light heartened, but he really was interested.

How many times could a senshi be reborn? That was a hell of a luxury to have—and damn, he wanted in.

Lenka shrugged, taking another bite of her burger. “I have no idea. I’ve never really thought about dying…you know. It’s not a very nice thought…and I suppose. That’s one of the reasons that I don’t readily let myself deal with the visions here? I don’t want to know how I died in the past…how morbid is that?”

She shuddered and quickly shoved the rest of the burger in her mouth, chewing quickly.

When she managed to swallowed the lump of food she sighed. “Do you think you’ll be reborn? I mean, if we get reborn, who’s to say everyone doesn’t? What if everyone…everything on the earth is just what lived there before…I mean. Couldn’t it just be the great circle of life like in the lion king? What if you were a fat hippo in another life? How strange would that have been, hm?”
Though…he did cause her to think a little. How many times would the sailor senshi Lenka exist? She was created again for some purpose...would she be able to live up to it and make it a purpose that actually got finished?

Maybe if she could find out what it was…she could work at it. But what purpose could a twelve year old possibly have?
PostPosted: Sun Oct 13, 2013 12:51 am

Jett scoffed at her suggestion. "Maybe you were a fat hippo in another life and all your memories about being up here are wrong," he proposed. He seemed amused with the idea, though didn't dwell on it; finishing off his burger he seemed fairly thoughtful, directing his attention towards pulling up some nearby weeds as he pondered 'the great circle of life'.

Which, he thought he understood decently enough, though it had been a while since he last saw the Lion King. "I guess it's pretty deep conversation for a picnic. Sorry, just isn't every day that I get to talk to someone who has such direct influence in this whole…war." He sounded like he was testing out the word. "If I were you, I'd spend a lot more time on this planet. Of course, I have a lot of questions, and if memories give you answers, why not at least try? I mean—if you can remember things from a past life, theoretically there's only one memory that's going to tell you how you die. You've got a whole lifetime of memories—of answers—you could access. Or, you know. You could just come up here for the hell of it. I kinda like this place."

Like being in some Discovery Channel special—the whole experience, minus the bugs.

"Running away to distant planets just seems meditative. Guess it really puts things into perspective when you think about it." He smiled, genuinely happy to be off of Earth. He loved it—it was his home—but, damn it.

There was a whole universe out there. Why should he be stuck on one planet?

The chibi senshi snorted. “I was not a fat hippo. You were a dead dinosaur that’s what you were. Ugh. Boys. You’re all so dumb.” She shook her head and laughed for a moment, though then looked at the blonde. “You can come up here with me if you want. I like having a friend here. I think coming up alone would be…would be really lonely, and I’m not sure I’d really enjoy it that much…but if you want to bring burgers…we can start having picnics up here a lot, if you want.”

It would be fun. And she missed hanging out with Jett…so she could still do it. And it would be great. And she could tease him about getting fat.

“And you can help me make the asteroid beautiful again. Okay? It’s a fair trade. I bring you to space, you feed me and help me garden. What do you say?”
PostPosted: Sun Oct 13, 2013 1:06 am

Jett was in as good a mood as anyone could be after being called a dead dinosaur—and the prospect of getting into space in exchange for some snacks? Hell, yeah. That was too good to resist. When the cheapest flight to the Amazon had to be like—what, a couple hundred, at least?

A trip to space for the price of burgers was a phenomenal deal. Plus, Lenka wasn't even so bad like this. For a senshi—and for a kid.

He wasn't so sure if it was a fair trade, but he wasn’t shy to say, "I like it. I'd love to. Though, I guess I'd better dig some gardening supplies out of the garage next time. Might make things a little easier. And you can tell me what you're looking to do with the place. Of course, that does bring up the small question…how am I supposed to find you again? Do you need an email or something, or should we just wait until we run into each other again?Leave notes with date and times in a hollow tree trunk?"

Or whatever kids were doing these days.

“How about we just try and meet at the park on Sunday afternoons or something? Maybe around three? If one of us is there and the other doesn’t show up by three thirty, it means that we couldn’t go or something. I don’t know. That sounds pretty easy to me!”

She nodded at his suggestion of gardening supplies. “That would be amazing! I want to make this place beautiful again! I want to try to turn it into…I don’t know.” Lenka looked around the very green place with a sort of fierce pride. “I want to make it my home away from home…you know. Since it was my home. Is my home…it’s a part of me that I want to get back, even thought I didn’t really know it was missing until I got here, you know?”

Lenka shook her head, then grinned. “I am very glad you’re going to be coming with me though! It would get pretty lonely up here, I think!”
