It seemed to take a whole lot longer to find the Peisio Dragon this time around, as though the creature didn't much feel like having a round four... and Tallulah was ready to agree with the creature as far as that went. He didn't really care for the idea of having to continually attack the same dragon over and over again. What he wanted to do was find Peisio Dragons, fight them, take them down, and then head on his merry little way with some orbs in tow. Thus far though he had yet to be so lucky as that... he had spent an inordinate amount of time chasing after a singular Peisio and he was actually starting to get a bit grouchy and miffed at them. Was this how Eyphah felt about dealing with this sort of dragon he found himself wondering, if so then he felt a bit bad for the Diabi, especially given that he couldn't breath under water in the same manner that Tallulah was able to do. Even with that advantage though he was still having far too many problems trying to take down the water based dragons and he was almost certain that it was partly because he had spent so much time on land. It was strange, for a Merkein to have so many problems in what should be his natural element.
When he finally spotted 'his dragon' he nearly sighed in relief, having thought for a moment that he wasn't going to find it again, that he wasn't going to be so lucky, and that he was going to have to start the hunt all over again. It was really the last thing that he'd wanted, not when this one bore so many of Tallulah's marks upon its person. He really felt as though he should be the one to finish it off and collect its orb, he'd been chasing it for so long after all. This dragon and its orb belonged to Tallulah and Tallulah alone he thought to himself in a stubborn manner that he had likely picked up from Eyphah. He set to charging forward, getting quite close to the dragon, claws at the ready... when suddenly the water seemed to grab him dragging him backwards, away from his prey, "Eh, eh? What in the..." He looked back behind himself, spotting a second Peisio Dragon casting a spell on him, then off to the side where a third seemed to show up from the dark water as well, "Well... damn..." That wasn't good at all, was it? If he had to guess these were friends of the other dragon and they meant to do to him what he and Eyphah had done to countless dragons in the past.
He set to struggling in the grasp of the water, using his own magic to break the hold, looking from side to side, weighing things up, trying to figure out where to even start when surrounded by so many dragons. Crud... crud... what would Eyphah do? Likely charge in and tear them all into tiny little dragons slices that he would then cook over an open fire... but given that Tallulah wasn't as skilled in battle and wasn't much of a cook either, those weren't options, were they? Should he run? Yes! Running, running was for the best... though he supposed that it would be more swimming away instead of running. Something he turned to do... only to get entangled in another spell and dragged once more backwards toward the Peisio Dragons that seemed as though they were gathering for the kill. Was this really how it was going to end? He was going to get taken down in his own element after fighting so hard on land for so long? What would happen to all his orbs? He hadn't told Eyphah where they had been stashed so that meant they would go to waste.
The Merkein closed his eyes, preparing for what he thought was going to be the end... before there was suddenly a lot of roaring, the heavy scent of blood in the water, and someone coming to grab him up into their scaly grasp. His eyes popped open, certain that he was going to see Eyphah there somehow... but instead it was someone far more familiar and it drew a squeal of surprise as well as a sigh of relief, "It's so good to see you, Mother." He said as the the bigger, stronger female Merkein pulled him along out of harm's way while the rest of their clan made easy, bloody work of the trio of dragons. He wouldn't get any of the orbs, they weren't his kills after all, but he was glad that someone in his tribe would get them, they deserved them after all, and so much more given they had more then certain saved his scaly hide.
The big Merkein glanced down at the obviously shaken Tallulah and gave him a gentle smile, nuzzling against him gently, "It's alright now, my Tallulah. We will take care of these bullies, bring you home for some rest, and you can tell us what brought about such a one sided battle." She said, giving a tsking sound. It was obvious the overly protective mother Merkein wasn't at all pleased with the fact that he had ended up in such a situation, the sort of situation that he was sure he was going to have to explain in detail. It wasn't as though he wanted to get in a tussle with three of them... but he wouldn't say that now. Now he was just relieved to have her there and would be even happier when they were back home where he wouldn't be able to rest up after that harrowing ordeal. Damn Peisio Dragons! He'd show them next time.
