At the top of the reaper dormitory, Shun stood at the edge while staring out towards the woods some distance away. The thought of getting in some agility and mobility training there had came to mind. He didn't start making his way down, however, as he was enjoying the view in the meantime. His gaze shifted towards the ground below briefly. It was too large of a drop for him to jump safely, but that wasn't to say that he couldn't scale his way down.

That was, if he didn't feel like taking the stairs normally. It actually wasn't a bad idea. It'd be the first step in his training regime for the day.

Hel didn’t realize how much she missed flying until she got a familiar. Now that the skies were open to her again…well. She felt great before, but soaring the skies just seemed to improve her mood tenfold. She was coming out of a dive from above the clouds with her familiar before it spread its wings and slowed its descent, and it lowered towards the reaper dorms. As it slowed, Hel looked around, patting the familiar’s shoulder, before she spotted a familiar figure on the roof.

She nudged the large raven familiar closer, and it hovered near the edge, and Hel was waving her arm like a mad woman at Shun.

“SHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!” She cried, grinning widely.

At some point, Shun saw a dark spot in the sky. It drew his attention and so he looked up to see what it was. To his surprise, he saw a large black bird and on its back was no other than Hel. His first thought was that she was riding on the back of some student in their natural form.

"Oi. Hel," he greeted with a nod, "Who's the bird?"

“Who is the bird?” She echoed. “OH! YA! Jack, do I have a bit to fill you in on, friend!” She laughed. “This is my familiar!”

While hovering nearby was all well and good, it may not have been conducive to talking, so Hel directed the familiar to the reaper dorm roof. It landed with ease, and all too soon Hel was sliding off of its back. She approached the grim, and the familiar followed suit. Once she was close enough though, Hel clapped the grim on the shoulder in an affectionate gesture. “It is good to see you though! Especially after what we went through during the Tear!”

Shun's mouth opened a little and he furrowed his brow when she explained the giant bird. It wasn't too hard to see that he was a bit befuddled here.

"When the hell did you get a familiar? What happened to your spear?" he asked. This was a rather sudden development, he found. Looking back and for between the two, he soon shifted his gaze to the hand clasped onto his shoulder.

"But yes, it's good to see you as well. The whole Tear business was one bloody huge mess, wasn't it?"

“YA!” Hel cried, well, in response to everything really. “I will catch you up to speed on that.” She jerked a thumb at the familiar, who was cocking its head to the side as it inspected Shun. “So after we got back from the Tear, I went to go speak to Rage to learn more about Trick or Treating, but he said he would only answer questions if I could defend myself and then strike him! So I moved to strike him with my weapon, he grabbed it, and then crushed it!” Hel’s hands were up in the air as exclamation as well! “Just shattered it to pieces, just like that. So after, I had a pile of a weapon, and Mot and Lizzy scoured the libraries for information, but not much was written. So about a week goes by, and then I put the broken weapon in my closet, and then the next day, this comes out of it!”

Pretty crazy, she knew.

Shun stared hard at her.

"You... couldn't just dismiss it? And..recall it?" he asked. He was having a hard time wrapping his mind around this story at the moment. It wasn't really something he had ever heard of happening before. Blinking, he summoned his own daggers at stared down at them. It was difficult to imagine himself with anything else. These were a part of him. If they had broken for good... what did that mean for him exactly?

"Does... it have a name?"

“I could not!” Hel exclaimed, her eyes going wide as she recalled the…well….dread and panic she felt. “It was so jackin’ weird, Shun! Something we could just do, a second nature, like breathing, and no matter how much I tried or hoped or wished, it would not dismiss. It was just…” She held out her hands in front of her. “There. I felt nothing. Not to mention I could not use any of my FEARs…since I did not have something to channel it through.”

She paused, and looked back at the raven, who was right behind her at this point, and just staring at the two. “Oh…uh…”

Hel trailed off for a long moment.

“…I dunno! Riyo calls it Mega-chicken, Mac calls it Chocobo…I call it ‘hey you’…but I suppose its name is…Famine?” She grabbed the collar it was wearing, and showed the engraved name plate to Shun. “Just like my weapon, yanno?” She let go of it, and patted the familiar on the shoulder.

That was a disturbing thought in itself. It sounded practically crippling, really. Shun frowned at that, though he soon looked to the raven and raised his brow.

"..You suppose? Does it not talk?" he asked.

Hel, once again, looked at her familiar, her brows furrowed in thought. "Uh..." She paused for a moment, thinking it over herself. "No...not really! I mean, it makes...bird noises...but aside from that, nothing." But now that Shun pointed that out, it was odd, huh? All the other familiars she knew did talk...actually, they were super talkative in fact! Huh...was her familiar broken? Hel grimaced briefly at the thought.

The familiar on the other hand, just ruffled its wings, and then kept tilting its head at the two.

"Ah, well." Hel dismissed the subject. It didn't need to talk...it got its point across just fine without it.

"So what have you been up to, friend? What were you doing on the roof?"

Shun looked over the big raven again, curious. So it didn't talk. That was... a bit odd. Though now that raised the question of if it could or if it just won't speak. Shrugging it off, his attention shifted to the question tossed back at him.

"I was simply doing some thinking up here, planning how I'm to train today. I may utilize the forest," he replied while nodding in the direction of the woods below.

Hel’s attention turned towards the woods as well, and she hummed thoughtfully before a grin spread across her face. “What kind of training in the woods? That sounds mighty exciting!” It was obvious Hel was pretty interested…and would probably invite herself along.

Good thing Shun was usually cool with that…well, when it came to training anyways.

"Freerunning. I had done it with Kettil once using the woods and it proved rather effective. Though... there was snow everywhere at that time," he stated. The ground and whatnot should be more dry, making for better footing and the like this time around. Of course, this also meant there were no large snow banks that could act as a cushion to soften falls at all.

Shun rolled his shoulders, then peered over the edge of the building, checking to see if he had a route for how to climb down.

“Freerunning?” Hel echoed, already looking even more interested. “Is that like parkour…but in the forest…?” She perked up. “Oh! So you two were doing this freerunning during the colder Octobers when it was snowing?” That seemed rather interesting, actually…and those Octobers were coming up!

Hel leaned with the grim, and looked down the side of the building as well.

"Yes. Freerunning is merely another name for parkour," Shun stated. He soon nodded at her second question as well. Silent for just a moment longer, he rolled his shoulders, then swung himself over the side of the building. However, he kept his grip at the ledge. From there he hopped over to the drain pipe, sliding down a part of the way before kicking himself away from the wall and rolling onto the grass below.

From the ground, he stood and looked back up towards the top of the building where Hel and Famine were.
