Its always awkward to me when males compliment me at all. >...< I'm fiercely loyal, and my boyfriend is so amazing. So I instantly want to go into b*tch mode and be like "WHAT. OH NONONO. YOU BETTER BACK UP. THANK YOU BUT I HAV A BOYFRIEND." But then I remember some people use different words when flirting, then they do when simply giving a friend a compliment. So I back myself up and just say thanks and drop little hints to make sure they know they won't be getting anywhere sweatdrop Anybody else have that issue? ._. I know it can also be the same when females compliment, but I know (as sexist as it sounds, forgive me) most females, if I do go into the mode, they'll understand I'm just overreacting(provided they aren't actually flirting) ._.

I can't say that I have this problem. sweatdrop A compliment is a compliment in my book, whether it's flirting or not. My husband and I understand that, we take compliments as we get them and just take them for face value. If the person is flirting then we can't help that, but we can turn them down if it ever comes to that. Flirting never hurt anyone as long as you don't reciprocate. 3nodding
I think the only time it's ever bothered either of us is when the person continues to be flirty even after being told to quit it. Compliments are nice but continuing heavy flirting when you're told to stop is very unnerving haha.

It's normal to feel a little offset by it if you're taken. It just feels weird to get a compliment like that when you're already with someone, just have to try and go with the flow and not let it heavily affect you. 3nodding Compliments are nice, that's all they are~
