Acanthite really needed to get better at calling up her senshi magic. There was something that itched in her mind when she used it, like it wanted to be called by a name, and the best she had was a nickname. The waters responded to it, but something still felt a little off to her. She did not want to be focused on the strangeness of it if she had to use the attack again, and decided that some practice, to make calling it feel more natural, could only help. Even if it felt like the name was a little wrong.
And, since it was after Labor Day, the opportunity presented itself in the form of a public pool, closed for the autumn and winter months. It had been drained of water, but small puddles lingered from a recent rain.
Acanthite hesitated at the edge, then jumped down, landing lightly about five feet down on the sun- and chlorine-bleached concrete. Then she closed her eyes, raised her hands over her head, and called out, "Cataract Rapids!". She could feel her fingers catching something, like the bottom edge of an open garage door, and pulled it downwards; then when her hands were in front of her chest, she stepped forward and pushed out.
The result was prompt: a torrent of water flooded away from her along the pavement, turning the concrete beneath it to a jumble of smooth stones. The water rushed to the opposite side of the pool, and Acanthite stood straight, beaming with satisfaction. Maybe that felt a little easier?
... Except for the part where she had completely neglected to notice that she was standing in a deeper end of the pool, and she had pushed her rapids towards the shallower end. After several seconds, the water she had conjured came rushing back towards her, aiming to pool around her feet.
"Oh, s**t," she whined, hopping out of the way as the water threatened to get into her boots.Lucifer Force (( Sorry this took me a while. This week was a doozy e_______e ))

Somebody smelled lovely! And really, it was the starseed, touched by Chaos, that floated in her chest. A starseed that belonged to a senshi, who would have been delicious had they not been on the same side. Bazzite frowned internally. Languidly did he lounge atop the nearby Aquatic Center building that housed offices and endless amounts of paperwork. The youma leaned over the edge, sprawling out over the expanse of the rooftop, only his shoulders, head and arms clearly visible. He gave Acanthite a round of applause much like a sports spectator, if that sport was golf. Short, sweet, quiet. "Very nice. First time? You smell like a first-timer. Welcome to the team, by the way." His metallic voice rang out as alien across the landscape, as if he didn't belong there. "Your name is what, Miss?" No doubt she'd never been greeted by a youma. It would be an absolute shame if something happened to her. She was quite pretty. Asahi Kumoru It's totally fine! I've been sick like whoa anyway! @_@

She jumped slightly when she abruptly realized she was no longer alone on the pool grounds, though she was thankful the energy signature was a friendly one. Acanthite had felt the youma in overwhelming force during her visit to the Rift, and she had caught glimpses of them, but she had never really gotten a good look at one. Let alone spoken with one. She sort of jumped again when he spoke aloud.
"Not first first time, but," the girl gave a light shrug. "Can always stand to get better." He could smell her, all the way up there?
Acanthite looked briefly to where the water she had summoned swirled and collected around a drain in the bottom of the pool. Then she looked back up at the stranger before hopping to the edge of the pool again. He was still above her on the roof, but at least she could get a better look - was his skin blue? It was difficult to tell in the low light.
"Um, I'm Acanthite. Who are you?" It was gradually becoming a point of price that she had a mineral name, like the other agents.
