Waiting was something Cosine was very good at. Sometimes she thought she should be the goddess of patience rather than of numbers. Then again waiting was often a number game. Fifteen minutes, two hours, three days, ten weeks, a month, a century.
The goddess sat in the atrium of her rooms enjoying the silence of night as she read through one of the tomes that Ankou had brought home. She wasn't really researching any more, they were gone to Azeroth so the activity would be redundant. She was just reading, ingesting information, broadening her knowledge. She would be found in the same place most evenings, waiting for Ankou to return, and playing guard should any of the children decide they were not happy with living in captivity.

Ankou was completely unaware that he was stepping out of the fire and into... Well, not the frying pan, not really. But he was unaware of the naughtiness his children had been up to behind his back, and the danger they had put themselves in. There was an easy solution to that, but perhaps it was simply better not to encourage them. He did not want them to be his helpers. He wanted his children to be god and goddesses in their own right, of their own influence.
He would close the door softly behind in, in an attempt not to rouse anyone if they sleep had already claimed them. He was tired, but at least it was over for now. Large groups and he did not get along, honestly.

Cosine heard the door go and looked up from the book she was reading. She really didn't want to pounce on him as soon as he had returned with this news but really it needed to be delt with sooner rather than later. If herself and Echo had not been informed of the crowlings plans then well, it could have been a very different talk she would be having.
"Welcome home." She said, though he had not come into view. She closed the book and placed it on the low table to her side.

The sound of her voice made him pause, and so he would make his way to the place that his lover was most likely to be - in her atrium. And that was exactly where he found her. His expression shifted into a smile as he made his way inside, leaning over to kiss her carefully. He was clean, but his clothing was another story, and he was trying not to get dust - or worse - all over her.
"Thank you." He had missed her - missed them all, really, as he always did. "At least it is done now. The Lich King will not trouble anyone else again."

Cosine smiled as he appeared, looking mostly in one piece. She kissed him back and stood.
"Good." She replied, reaching out to place a hand on his cool cheek. "I hope it was not too hard on you." He had enough to deal with already. "Did you all make it back safely? Kios? Xun?"

"I had to put up with entirely too many idiotic mortals, and some trigger-happy gods." Which only reminded him why he usually did most things on his own, honestly. "I do believe I will survive."
"Yes, everyone made it back safely. Some... a little more than safely. I am surprised Xun finds way to manage to make it though doors." He still had no idea where and how Ti Lung's wing placement could be considered practical.

"Two many gods can ... what's the saying? Spoil the stew?" She knew that from past escapades. Though, she was glad they made it back safe, in their varying degrees. "Missed you." She stood on tiptoes so she could kiss him gently again. "We had some drama of our own here. Our little monsters."

"Perhaps..." It seemed more of a small clash of personalities than anything else. Valor and Strength leaped face first into anything they possibly could while he preferred to be a great deal more... subtle. He had not been able to truly reign the amazons in, sadly.
He would let Cosine kiss him, and when she was done Ankou would let her fall back on her feet before pulling her close to hug her. "I missed you too." Of course he did. He always did. Whenever they were apart, he missed her terribly.
"And what did they do now ?" They were always up to mischief - though he had no idea how much mischief they had gotten into this time.

Cosine hugged him back tightly and closed her eyes a moment. She almost didn't want to tell him because then she would have to let go and the nice peaceful moment, just the two of them would be over.
"They took it upon themselves to do your job for you." She replied. "Caelia overheard us, as we know, she told her siblings and they somehow roped their Aunt and the Valkyries into their plot." She eased back from him and looked up into his piercing eyes.
"They decided to hold a funeral for the spirits to attract them, of course they bit off more than they could chew. Luckily Nuhava had told me of their plan, Echo it appears knew too. Together we calmed the spirits enough to allow the Valkyries to send them on their way."

"They what ?" They honestly could not...
No, of course they would. Cosine had been right - he would let go, if only to be able to rub his temples without accidentally smacking her in the process. "I swear they are just as bullheaded as I am."
Caelia, especially. They had been over this before already, in a way. The safest thing would be to ward them, to leave an imprint of himself on them so that the spirits would not attack them, but that might only make the terrible trio more reckless. He wanted them to be who they had to be. He could handle this...
Well, hopefully he could handle this better soon. "I should probably talk to them." But what could he say, really ? Perhaps the experience had spooked them enough to truly listen this time...

Cosine watched him and wrapped her arms around herself.
"I would like it if you did have a word with them. I want them to know exactly what kind of fire they were playing with. I want you to be able to answer any questions they might have. I don't want them getting into that kind of trouble again. Echo and I might not be there next time to save them."

"Yes. One day they will try something and there will be no one to catch them." Nuhava... He would have to thank her. "She did not tell me a thing while we were gone... But she had a lot to worry about, herself." Perhaps she had thought it would distract him if he knew. That honestly was not that far from the truth.
"I will talk to them." And hopefully do some good with it. "Are they still awake, or would it be better to wait until tomorrow, do you think ?"

"Asleep, I hope." She smirked she had put them to bed a few hours earlier. "So tomorrow would be best. You deserve a rest first." Cosine reached out to take his hand in hers. "Would you like me to run you a bath?"

"I would certainly appreciate." He would lean over to kiss her again. He had washed the worst of it at the green dragonshrine, but that was nothing compared to a warm, nice bath with his wife.
There was nothing else he would rather be doing right now.
