Krishna was fairly good about keeping Richard from talking him into doing things he did not want to do. He refused to pretend to kidnap his partner as Serpentine if a date was going sour, he refused to act as a taste tester for new sweets given his general dislike of them, and he refused to take it easier on training just because his partner was having a bad day. He did these things not out of spite, but out of care--his own prickly, sometimes backhanded care, but true care nevertheless. So, when the confectioner had suggested that the two of them commemorate their partnership in a permanent fashion... he had agreed to listen. He had made no promises about what course of action he would take. Somehow between then and now, they had managed to walk all the way to the tattoo parlor... without really anything other than the rough proposal made. A tattoo of a rose with a snake wrapped around it. Fitting, given their namesakes, but without a picture for reference... and where had the sudden desire come from? "Tattoos are forever, Richard. Are you certain you want this?"

"Of course I'm certain! Why would you think otherwise?"
It was something that Richard Moreau had on his mind for a couple of weeks now, and while the notion had skirted in and out of his mind every so often, he had gotten to the point where he was determined to follow through with it.
In the last few weeks, he had seen a side of his partner that he never knew existed, or rather, he always suspected was there, but he had never seen due to his own stubborn nature. Krishna may not have openly admitted it, but Richard knew that he cared for him more than he let on, and it was that night that the two had obtained their youma that Richard had come to the definitive conclusion that the two of them needed to go through with this.
So, Richard lead the way, knowing exactly where to take him and his partner in crime for their tattoos. Who better to ink them up than a man that was already decorated with tattoos himself? It didn't take long for them to find the establishment, and Richard had no qualms in letting his presence be known to the inhabitants and the hunky tattoo artist he sought out. "Hello, is there an artist in the house? My friend and I could really use your help!" Quicksilver the Archangel

Slow day was slow. So Slow, in fact, Kor had decided to take a nap behind the desk because he'd sent his receptionist home early. He was glad he wasn't one who snore, because that would certainly be embarrassing now wouldn't it?
The man had had something of a late night last night. Not that he'd really been doing anything, he just couldn't get to sleep at a decent hour and ended up staying up till ..well, this nap, actually. The can of energy drink beside him was sweating, dripping down and pooling on the desk, making it's way under Kor's arm which his head rested upon. He must have been so out of it he didn't even hear the bell as the door opened.
Maybe it was because his subconscious new the voice calling out, or just because there was a voice calling out, but Kor's head popped up and he rubbed at his eyes. "Hi, yeah, here." He yawned behind his head before he stood up and stretched himself out. "Welcome to Eight and Half." Finally his eyes focused on the customers and blinked at Richard. He could only stare a moment before he arched a brow and let his lips curl into a flirty smirk. "If it isn't Richard. Never thought I'd see you here." The tattooed and pierced man moved around to the front of the desk and offered his hand out to the two of them. "You've brought a friend who wants to be tattooed, then? Hi. I'm Kor McKneil."Quicksilver the Archangel

"Because I fully expect you to complain the minute the needle hits your skin." Krishna retorted as they walked through the door of the tattoo parlor. He was not trying to truly deter his friend from this course of action; Richard was a grown man and could certainly take responsibility for his decisions and actions. The florist had never minded the needle, himself, and even if he had he would not have spoken out about it. The candymaker, however? His pain tolerance was notably less. A brow arched at the sight of the sleepy man who seemed to awaken only to greet them. It was unprofessional, even in the laxer enivornment they had entered. Still, he could not deny that with his numerous inked masterpieces and piercings, this Kor McKneil was interesting to look at. And the canvas wasn't hard to look at either. Krishna looked him over with an admiring eye before accepting the offered hand. "Krishna Dhawan. Both of us, if you have the time."

"Complain? Moi? Wouldn't know the word," Richard said with a playful snarl, before focusing his attention to the dark-skinned artist that looked at him sleepily. It was just all too easy to jump on a little fun, and who would Richard be if he didn't take a playful verbal jab at the fellow? "Whaaaaat? You mean you didn't immediately recognize me, Kor? I'm hurt. With this goregous red mane and these delson vocal tones, how could you ever think to forget little ol' me?"
It was all in jest, however, and he kept his pleasant mood as he draped an arm over Krishna's shoulder, bringing his business of many ways partner closer to Kor so that the two of them could formally be introduced. He gladly accepted the hand offered to him, explaining as he went, "As Krishna's pointed out, the two of us would like to get tattoos today. Matching tattoos to signify out mutual partnership."
So far, so good. No second thoughts, only excitement could be heard in his voice. "We were thinking a rose, with a snake wrapped around it. I didn't bring you any references, but you're obviously an imaginative fellow, so I'm sure you can come up with something fitting for the two of us?"Quicksilver the Archangel PERMISSION TO TOUCH, SIR?

Krishna, huh? Not a bad looking man. Kor's eyes looked Krishna over from head to toe before shaking his hand with a firm grip. "Krishna. Very interesting name you've got there." He nodded again and stretched himself out. "Yes, I've got time for both of you." And then Richard spoke and Kor's smirk turned fond and he shrugged. "Maybe, Richard, I'm just not used to you being sober when I listen to you talk. You were pretty hungover last time, hm?" He gave the other a wink. M... Matching tattoos were a pretty intimate thing. Followed by the words mutual partnership, that light in Kor's eyes dimmed before his fond smile turned professional. "Of course. I can see what I can do. I've got pictures of snakes and roses. If you two can pick them out, just as a basis, I can see what I can do." So Richard was with someone, hm? That was alright. He'd only been out on two dates with the man, but it wasn't like they were actually dating. They didn't call each other all the time, or even say anything beyond a nick name at best, but it wasn't the usual dating terms he'd use. Going behind the desk, Kor pulled out a few binders of photos of tattoos he'd done and flipped one to the flowers and one to the serpents. "Did you have a specific snake in mind? A specific rose? Ah, and a spot. Where would you like them?" As he spoke, the idea of what had happened with Richard being taken was eating at him. Did Krishna know? He rubbed his neck as his jaw ticked a little. He might have sold his body at one point in time, but when it came to doing those things on his own will, he liked to be honest. Then again, Richard wasn't the only one at fault. Kor didn't ask. He didn't really think about it. It just... kind of happened. But the breakfast the next morning? Was that.. Richard could have mentione- No. It's not just Richard's fault. It's not. It was so easy to blame just Richard, but that wouldn't be true. "Look these over and let me know." The smile on his face was plastered, a completely false work smile that got him through the customers he didn't really want to deal with. Being a new tattoo shop, he didn't have the luxury of turning them away. Quicksilver the Archangel

Krishna allowed his partner to drape, accustomed to his casual touches by now. The warm reception given his friend was of little surprise. Richard was a far more outgoing individual than himself and generally more fond of company. He had gambling buddies, drinking buddies, all sorts of buddies. The cooling into professionalism was puzzling, but not disturbing. A quiet professional himself, the florist could not only understand but respect the distinction between whatever personal relationship the other two men shared. Thus far, Kor was proving every bit as interesting as his markings suggested. Obviously, the florist knew more about roses than he did about snakes, and it showed in his interest and suggestions. "A Black Baccara or Red Finesse would be appropriate, but perhaps too dark. A Black Magic has exquisite structure, as does the Red Paris. A Rolex has a tighter bloom. You do want red?" Likely a question that he should have asked earlier, but with it being present on Buddingtonite's uniform and matching the other man's hair and eyes, it seemed the most appropriate. Krishna opened the rose binder and handed it to his partner to flip through, in case anything struck his fancy. The snake part was both more and less difficult than choosing a rose, at least for Krishna. It was easier in that he had a type of snake in mind; harder in that he had less knowledge about their type and look in general. He opened the second binder to look at style, line, and color, but he was fairly certain he knew the type, "A cobra for the snake, I think. I would prefer somewhere easily covered with clothing, but it cannot be on the shoulders or upper back, as I have a tattoo there already." Richard wasn't the type to deny the truth, especially when he knew that there was little to benefit him from doing so. He gave a meekish grin and paired it with a shrug before speaking with faux coyness. "Oh, well, I just haven't had the time to dive into the liquor cabinet today. Besides, I was told that the best tattoo artists won't accept a client that's completely and utterly plastered. Bad for business and the customer, right?"
Despite his overly playful manner, Richard could tell that something had gotten under the tattoo artist's skin, and it wasn't ink. And never one to want to go without an answer, Richard shot Kor an inquisitive look, allowing Krishna to look over the binder. He personally already knew what he wanted- a rose was a rose, after all, and it took real skill to screw that up, or at least Richard thought. "Hm, is something the matter, Thor? Do you think I can't handle a little ink?"
It was a wild guess, one that he hadn't humored but Krishna seemed to think him unable to handle it. He was willing to prove him wrong, and Kor too, if need be. Without alcohol, even! His attention was pulled away when Krishna began spewing out various names, and he couldn't help but flash his friend a flabbergasted expression. Were those snakes, or roses? It had to be roses- he worked in a flower shop, so it would stand to reason he knew his stuff, and he gave a scoff, even as he glanced over Krishna's shoulder. "Show off."
At least Richard knew the cobra, but what he didn't know was the other little factoid that Krishna dropped on him. His red eyes widened with surprise, and without warning he reached for the back of Krishna's shirt, his curiosity unable to be contained. "You... you have a tattoo on your back? We've been partners for now long and you never told me? Let me see!"Saint Sergio IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK, BLOOBLOOBLOO! Quicksilver the Archangel

Well! Kor was certainly impressed with the listings of the flowers the other seemed to be half babbling about. He arched a brow and just watched the two, trying to hide his hurt. Krishna didn't seem to pick up on in, which made Kor thankful, because he hated explaining himself when there was a lot of uncertainty with things. Uncertainty summed up everything towards Richard right now. Still, he listened to Krishna and nodded. So some kind of rose with a cobra twined around it. Seemed like that kind of tattoo to him. "We can map out where if you want it on your back still. Working around old tattoos isn't a problem unless we're talking 'hey add this to this nearly complete sleeve' and there's like two inches to work with." Kor'd dealt with that too many times for his liking. He flipped through his own copy of the book, grabbin the cobra reference, just for accuracy sake while he sketched it up. He was keeping his mind on job. That was safe to think about. Something he could fall into completely and let it over take any bitter emotions he might be feeling. He pushed a dread off his shoulder as it snaked forward, having been looking through his own binder. Richard's playfulness wasn't helping the knot in his stomach and then he asked that question before sighing. He plastered a smile on his face again and shook his head. "It's not me to judge someone's pain tolerance. I've seen big, huge, beefy men cry at a tattoo in their upper arm, and little women not squirm at a rib tattoo." His shoulders rolled as he tried to match the playfulness, but the smile didn't reach his eyes, the humor didn't reach the words like he'd wanted it to. Oh well. Not like anything could be done about it. It'd be rude and highly unprofessional to bring it up now, in front of Krishna. He wasn't a snitch, either, there was that little problem. So, he'd keep it quiet. However, Richard didn't seem to know about the tattoos and that made Kor's brow arch. Huh. Well, that could be bcause of several reasons if their relationship was what he thought. "I can do whatever rose. If you don't want it red, we can always go with another color. Thing about cobras is they don't have an amazing amount of color, so anything really goes with them." ChibiGingi IT IS IN KOR'S MIND AHAH. Quicksilver the Archangel

Krishna was not absorbed in the reference book to the point that he could not tell that something was going on between the two other men in the room. He simply didn't care. Richard's personal life was his own. At his partner's comment, he merely snorted. "Your ignorance does not make my knowledge more impressive. Surely you could list all the candies in your shop?" Krishna's mouth twitched into a small smile at the description of people with unrealistic expectations. He knew precisely the type of customer to which Kor referred - most business owners and their employees did- but he shook his head. "No, nothing like that. It is-" Then Richard butted in and yanked on his shirt. The florist scoffed at his wonder and impatience, "You never asked. But here, I will show you. If only so our artist can see too." Without further hesitation, the florist pulled off his shirt and turned so that both his partner and the artist could see the revealed ink. The tattoo stretched the length of his shoulders and down his shoulder blades. It depicted a kirin in midleap, its head held high and its tail extended. The colors and flatness of the lines were consistent with an Asian style, but the colors were not as traditional. The scales were shaded a teal blue, while the mane and tail were as rainbow as the man who sported the tattoo. The eyes, hooves, and horn were all done in yellow. It was a piece that had taken much time and money, but it was also several years old and likely in need of touchups. "As I was saying, it is easily avoidable. Surely we can find a place?"

"Wait, you've seen large, muscular men cry when getting a tattoo?" For all if his enthusiasm when walking in, Richard couldn't deny that he was beginning to have some small concerns in regards to getting a tattoo now, but it certainly wasn't out of regret. No, he was determined to follow through with this, despite all of the many other things he had abandoned or passed up before in the past, because he wanted to prove to not only himself but to Krishna that he could handle anything that he could. Not to mention having a tattoo would definitely act as a lure to the future courtships he would someday endeavor for. Not to mention, he didn't want to look weak or pathetic to Krishna, and especially not Kor! "Well, then, I won't cry! I'm much stronger than I look!"
All bravado, but what else was new with Richard? However, it did not take much to distract Richard from the possibility of pain, as he took a gander at Krishna's tattoo. He hadn't realized his friend sported one and he'd have to be a fool not to look. Who knew if or when he'd ever get the opportunity again with the shrewd man?
"Indeed I could, but I'd think there were more flowers than candy in the world, or at least different species!" Truth of the matter he couldn't, but he'd never admit it. But who cared about that? He finally got to get a glimpse of the illusive past of his friend, and he had to admit that he was thoroughly impressed, even if he had absolutely no idea what he was looking at. Some Asian beast, that's all he could tell, which suited Krishna just fine. He gave a playful tap to Kor's arm, looking to the tattoo artist and flashing him a playful wink as he fauxed whispered to him. "I've known him for how long now and not once did I even know he had a tattoo. I mean... how does one even bring that up in casual conversation without having seen a glimpse of it to say 'oh, I see you have a tattoo!' At least Kor here wears his out in the open, no secrets, no lies! You could learn from Kor, I think..."
Unaware of the possible stake he was driving into the poor man's heart, Richard carried on, unbuttoning his shirt in preparation of the ink, not at all aware of just what was in store for him, and perhaps that was for the best. "Alright, so... artist's discretion. Where would the best place be?"Quicksilver the Archangel

Kor watched their interactions with a critical eye. Why? He didn't know. Richard wasn't his boyfriend by a long shot, so this jealousy was stupid and he didn't like it. Right now the tattoo artist was trying to shake off those feelings as Krishna exposed his back. This was all about professionalism right now. He moved forward, examining the ink, the colors and just made a small noise. Asian with a twist. Nice. His hands moved to trace some of the lines, feeling if the one who did it was heavy handed or light handed, and it seemed pretty light handed considering things. Kor whistled as he looked at the colors, the detail work and then nodded. "We can work around it. It's fairly big and cuts off in a clean sort of way. I could even blend it into a full back piece. I'm pretty good at style mimic..." He hummed softly and then pulled away to nod to himself. "Did we want the back? Or did we want to go with the arm? My price starts at $40 and then go from there with colors, size and hours put into it. Though with what you're describing, I don't see it getting very expensive." Then Richard was speaking about his customers and Kor nodded. "Yeah. Pain tolerance is all about the person. There's no set pain level for people. They vary just like personalities." He gave the other a sort of smile and then just shrugged lightly, going behind his desk to get a sip of energy drink he had opened before his impromptu nap. Letting out a sharp sigh, he kept listening to Richard talk about Krishna and just shoved his own personal feelings aside. Whatever. It wasn't any concern of his anymore. They had their little roll in the hay and that was it. That's all he expected. With a little noise, he arched a brow. "Some people, Richard, don't feel a need to show off their ink. Most of the time the ink they get is personal and for themselves. It's up to the person if they want to show it off or not. There's never really a good time to be like "oh by the way I have a tattoo" if it isn't new. With a back piece, or any piece you don't see all the time, it can honestly just completely slip your mind that you have it there." Kor was really defensive about people thinking all tattoos should be shown off or even all tattoos should be hidden. It's up to the person with the ink what they do with it. Instead of twisting that knife and letting it hurt, Kor was just getting annoyed. It was easier than hurting and jealousy. "As for where the best place for virgin skin would be, it'd have to be your upper arm. It's one of the least painful places to tattoo." That mask of professionalism slipped back in after his little speech, hiding his annoyance with that practiced tone. Quicksilver the Archangel

Krishna never minded when all eyes were upon him, particularly if they were in an admiring sort of way. So, he stood proud and still as both his partner and the artist looked over his back piece. He neither flinched nor objected when he felt hands upon him, though he chuckled lightly at Richard's 'enthusiasm.' If his partner was strong enough to endure the needle without quitting, whether painful or not, surely his ability to go through with the process was more important than whether or not he cried. On the matter of the variety of their wares, he added, "Then you should drink less and make candy more." The more he listened to Kor speak, the more he respected him as a professional. His artistry did not extend merely to inked pieces, but to the knowledge of what those pieces might mean for his customers. The florist found himself nodding, as he tried to explain to Richard. "The piece is for me, no one else. No one can see, just from looking, why I chose this piece. Having to explain each time... takes too many words. Perhaps you should learn from Kor." Krishna thought about the placement for merely a moment before shaking his head. "No. The arm, I think, is better--a clean area, for both of us. Your piece should have its own frame." It was one of his more clear-cut compliments. "Who shall go first?"

Now it was impossible to ignore that something was amiss in the tattoo shop, and when Richard was finally able to tear his gaze off of the masterpiece that was decorating Krishna's back, he looked at Kor with such an intense gaze that he might have hoped to gain Superman's eye sight. A waste of the talent as he might have originally used to it to get a glimpse of the finer ones naked, but with Kor, he had seen him in such a form, and still liked what he saw, to this day. That train of thought brought him to one possibility, and Richard could only begin to wonder if maybe Kor thought of Krishna as his-
His train of thought derailed at the talk of business and then pain, and what a part for Richard's mind to return, too. In response to not showing off the ink, Richard wasn't afraid to admit that he didn't follow, and even though it might have put his foot in his mouth, he felt the need to express his thoughts. "Very well, if that's how some would like to be. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that Krishna hid his... he's so secretive and aloof."
But it was hard to ignore the defensive tone of Kor's voice, as well as Krishna's explanation and suggestion now ringing in his ears, and with that, he thought it would be best to back off that topic. He's done something to upset the mighty Thor, and Richard was clueless as to how best to rectify the situation, so for once, he'd allow Krishna to handle it. At Kor's suggestion, he pulled up his sleeves and gave his left shoulder a glance, as though it would be the last time he ever saw it bare and naked... now was not a good time to have second thoughts, but he refused to show it, remaining firm and strong in his stance and drawing more attention to his refusal to give up his precious bourbon to distract from the sudden nervousness he felt. "You have your hobbies and I have mine. Hm!"
And as if to prove a point, he announced, loudly, and he made sure neither of them could ignore the edge in his voice as he moved towards one of the tables. "I think the upper arm would do just nicely! Now, let's get this whole thing underway before this tag team continues any further."Quicksilver the Archangel

Oh, Kor did a little more than just thinking Krishna and Richard were more than business associates. His mind was already made up that he was going to just not ..get disappointed by the assumption. Boy would his face be red if it proved to be wrong. He gave a little noise at the compliment from Krishna, green eyes flicking to him after a moment and winked. "We'll see how you feel about that after it's done, won't we?" He asked. When Richard exposed his arm like that, Kor looked at it with a different set of eyes than he'd done that one night they shared. These were the eyes of his professional self, critical, looking for blemishes, scars that would ruin the process or the ink, much less the gun he'd be using. Smoothing his hand over the area, he nodded and then moved to get a piece of tracing paper. He put it against Richard's arm and traced the shape. Why? Because Kor had a habit of drawing things too big if he didn't have parameters to work within. With that done, he put a little 'R' in the shape and then looked to Krishna. He got a new sheet of paper, did the same thing and then put that pencil behind his ear before nodding. "You can either uh.. wait on the couch here, or go grab something to eat, or drink. I'll need about half an hour to sketch everything out." He just gave them both the same sort of smile, a half distracted one. His mind was now on work and not personal matters. Work gave him something to do, something to focus on completely. It was therapy to Kor to sketch and then listen to the tattoo gun. "As for price, we'll discuss that later." Quicksilver the Archangel
