She was abandoned and forgotten by the project. When she turned 18 a man named Sergy from the same project found her and she helped him save a town and kill people who were after him. She can see ghosts due to her super human eye sight and Sergy was the one who got her into this school.
Family: Family is all dead or wants nothing to do with her, however, there is a boy named Sergy Montréal, who's family was great friends with her father, and was assigned to take care of Maiya after her parents death.
