Kaalnia was trying to pretend everything was fine. In fact, she'd been trying to avoid Briella all day. Everything was fine! Really! She just... needed to go... over here. Her sister couldn't know because even oblivious Kaalnia knew that Briella had a lot on her plate already. "What she doesn't know can't hurt her, eh Popper?" she said to her fish, who of course didn't respond. She had taken to talking to Popper in the few hours she had had him. It made her feel better. Really, everything would be all right. She just had to, you know, rest or something. Maybe never go anywhere near Zena.
Oh hell. She couldn't even fool herself, how was she gonna fool brie? She wasn't okay. She didn't know if she would be okay. She wanted to be okay very badly though. She liked her usual self and this wasn't her usual self. And she didn't like it.
She slumped against a tree. "Oh hell, Popper. Am I a Coward or something?" she asked the fish. Popper glubbed up at her through his glass, no answer forthcoming.

Ever since she saw Kaalnia Briella tried to keep her within her sight. She didn't want to lose her sister because she knew that they needed to talk, something was wrong with Kaalnia even if her sister didn't want to admit it. She was saved by the people around earlier, but now there would be no saving. They needed to talk, and the sooner the better really.
She was searching for her sister when she heard Kaalnia's voice, and she was talking to Popper? Oh yes, that was her fish. Briella shook her head. Things had to be worse than she thought if Kaalnia was talking to a fish.
"You aren't a coward, but you are silly for trying to avoid me." she said with a small frown as she walked closer to her sister and into view.

Kaalnia grimaced guiltily, but she stayed where she was. I shoulda known better than to try to avoid Brie... she thought to herself. She should have known that Brie would not only notice but not leave it alone. Well s**t. "Yeah. I'm a funny gal." said Kaalnia, smiling weakly and moving over so that Brie could join her on the... was this a fence? It was overgrown by the jungle so it was hard to tell. "Guess my luck's run out on the whole 'avoiding you' thing." she didn't feel bad about it. She actually felt relieved, and it showed in her voice. Kaalnia had never been good at hiding anything, especially not from Briella. "... But you have to be wrong because, see, I've been thinking, and I think I've got to be a coward or something because thats..." her voice caught briefly, "Thats the only way this..." she shook her head, "Yeah. I don't get it. I don't get it, Brie, I just don't" she said. Her voice was level enough, but it cracked with emotion that turned her face down into a pout. "I just don't."

Briella pulled her little sister into a hug. "You never had luck avoiding me sis, I just let you think that way." she said with a light laugh. Something was really, really wrong. The girl standing in front of her wasn't Kaalnia, or at least wasn't the Kaalnia that she knew. She let go of her and listened to her talk, pretty confused at what was happening and what her sister was talking about.
When Kaalnia stopped speaking Briella grabbed her hands. "You are no coward Kaalnia, don't think that. What happened." she asked with a level voice.

Kaalnia was quiet. For once, she was sure her sister was wrong, because the only thing she could call how she was feeling was Cowardice. She managed another laugh, but her ability to fake it was ebbing away, and felt lost without it. She looked at her sister, really looked at her. Briella was so strong and graceful and pretty. When Kaalnia looked at women, she did- and she would readily admit it- compare them to how awesome her sister was. Kaalnia liked to think of herself as all that- and she was sure she was- but Briella was stronger in every way. Kaalnia looked up to her. It was a source of great frustration that Briella wasn't putting herself out there. Kaalnia was, and Brie was a whole lot more desirable than her. It might be competition, but it wasn't fair to deny the ladies someone special like her sister. She'd heard that vague rumor about brie and a mystic, and hoped it was true. Because damned if Brie didn't deserve the best. What briella thought about her mattered, even if Kaalnia ignored a good chunk of it sometimes.
She took a deep breath, calming herself. "Brie?" she began, hesitating, "Did you.. you know, maybe, possibly, I don't know... See my fight?" Half of her hoped not. It had been horrible. But half of her hoped that her sister had been watching over her. "Didya... Didya see what happened?"

Briella hugged her sister, running her hand over her sisters back as she did so. She had seen her sisters fight, it had been a bad one she would admit, but at the same time she wouldn't say that her sister was a coward. She saw her little sister as a lover more than a fighter, plus from the looks of it the guy she was fighting was crazy. More than crazy, he shouldn't have been even allowed to participate.
"Yes I did Kaa, and I can't believe that they allowed him to fight you. He was obviously crazed. At one point I tried to go down there and get you out but they wouldn't let me..." she confessed. She had been worried for her sister, more than she had ever been before. She prayed to Aisha to allow her sister to live, and it seemed as if Aisha had listened.

a pet dino Im sensing a Brie fight in 'Lash's future Kaalnia nodded. "I just wanted ta have fun, ya know? every other time I've been in a fight, it was fun. Our sisters are fun, ya know?" she closed her eyes tightly, "But he... he wasn't..." and then she did something she had never done in front of another person before. She started to cry. "An' I was so scared, Brie. He... He wanted to kill me an' he didn't care and... I just wanted to have fun..." she hugged her sister tightly, "I just wanted to have fun..."

Briella squeezed her sister lightly, still stroking her back and hair as she did so. "It's okay Kaa, I know I know. I wanted to have fun also. Most of the people there were just for fun. However he... He was different. I prayed to Aisha as I watched, I so so scared." she mumbled into
"You'll never have to see him again, and if you do... Well I will handle him..." she said firmly. Kaalnia was her little sister, and she didn't deserve to be put up against such a monster. If Briella ever saw him she would make sure he paid for making her sister cry.

"You... you will?" Kaalnia said, looking up at her sister piteously. Maybe it was cowardly to want her sister to protect her. It certainly felt that way. But she wanted her big sis to be there for her. Kaalnia felt as though she was beyond any shame now. She needed her sister. She cuddled close, feeling, finally, safe, her tears starting to dry. "Thanks Brie..." she mumbled.

Briella laughed as she hugged her sister close. "I will make him wish he had never dared to mess with my sister. That you can be sure of." oh she would make him pay, make him pay for what he had done. She was almost excited for it actually...
"Any time, that was what big sisters are for." she said with a smile. Never again would she allow something like that to happen to her sister. Not if she could help it.
OOC: Sounds good to me!
