Cait sat down at the patio table at her favorite coffee shop, seemingly oblivious to the odd stares she was receiving. She was, after all, used to being looked at oddly - it wasn't as if this was the first time she was cosplaying in public. This was, however, probably the most she'd been propped up - after all, she was out with Mei for a photoshoot in her Hanji Zoe cosplay for DestinyCon - full 3D mnaeuver gear and all. It was lighter than the stuff in the show, but still awkward to sit down with. She'd managed it, somehow, and even acquired coffee and a scone.
"So, are you thinking of going to the con here? It's new this year; I'm pretty excited."

It was honestly a little amusing the way other customers stared at Caitlyn, it's not like she was wearing a skimpy outfit. If anything Caitlyn's outfit was quite tasteful, a little odd with the weapons at her side, but still cool looking. The attention the two of them were receiving didn't bother Mei at all, if anything she had to refrain from pulling out her camera just to capture their reactions. "I take it you're pretty use to this" She motioned to the customers waiting in line and those who were seated around them. After taking a sip of her mango peach bubble tea she replied "My brother asked if I'd go with him last night. Kind of a last hurrah before he takes off. The two of us use to go witha couple of friends before we moved here, they would pick the theme and assign me a character whether I knew what I was going as or not." Mei shrugged her shoulders in a 'what could I do' manner. "It's kind of last minute so we're going to use the costumes from last year and go as Daenerys Targaryen and her brother Viserys from Game of Thrones."

"Oh yeah, I do this a lot," Cait replied, taking a sip of her coffee and crossing her legs. "And man, besides the props - and I guess the glasses - this isn't even weird cosplay." She chuckled. She'd gone out in full-on princess dresses and pink hair. At least this looked kind of natural.
Her face lit up and she leaned forward. "Oh, really? Maybe we can meet up there and hang out some!" She proposed. She sighed happily. "I do that to my friends. I roped a couple of them into other Attack on Titan cosplays. They can't exactly say no when I've already made the jackets and harnesses and props, now can they?" She chuckled. "You'll make a gorgeous Dany, I bet. Man, she is such a badass. Planning to carry around dragons?"

"That would be great! Then maybe I can introduce you to my brother since I'm not entirely sure when he'll be around next." Not wanting to linger on sad thoughts of her brother leaving soon Mei jumped on the subject change. "Ha that's great, I'm sure you'll all have a blast dressed up from the same show. I bet you'll get plenty of group shot requests." "Thanks," She took another sip of bubble tea. "Our group last year consisted of my brother as Viserys, myself as Daenerys, and my brothers friends Tracy and Josh went as Sansa Stark and John Snow. The best part honest was that Josh actually has a white German Shepard that he brought with him for one of the days." Talk about a great dog, so laid back yet obedient, then again the dog was seven years old at the time. "Sadly I don't have any dragons for my outfit, if I find someone selling any at the con this year I'll probably get one otherwise I'm keeping my eyes out for a dragon egg bag or something like it to carry small stuff like my phone or wallet." Curious about Caitlyn's former statment, Mei couldn't help but ask"So out of curiosity, what is the weirdest cosplay you've gone as?"

Cait nodded eagerly. "I'll be glad to meet him," she agreed, "and I'm hoping for plenty of group shots." She laughed, and then nibbled on her scone a little.
"I could make you a bag, no problem," she said, "that's a really easy sewing project after friggin' cloaks and jackets." She set the scone down to go back to her drink, looking endlessly amused. "Do you mean actually weird, attracted the most stares, what? I went full Princess Euphemia for a walk to the bookstore once. I...do better with talking to people, and stuff, when I'm dressed up."

"Group photos are fun, especially if you find random people who are dressed up as characters from your show that nobody in your group came as." Mei was a bit surprised when Caitlyn offered to make the bag for her, especially since this is only the second time the two of them met. "Are you sure? I'll pay you of course, but do you think there's enough time?" It actually brought a genuine smile to her face at the thought of being able to say 'this is hand made and I know the person who made it'. There's a bit of pride at having something that is truly unique as opposed to factory made. She reached up and scratched the back of her head, then took another sip of her tea. "Cosplay can make for a good conversational ice breaker. Case and point." Mei made a gesture with her hands and a tilt of her head essentially saying 'you and me'. If memory served her correct, Caitlyn's casual Zelda cosplay was one of the main topics when they first met.

Cait nodded. "Yeah, it'd be no problem. I don't usually do commission work or anything, though I have been thinking about it!" She chuckled quietly. "I'm not quite there yet for full costumes, but for accessories and stuff - it'll be no big deal, really! And you don't have to pay me, you're giving me a chance to practice, which is plenty."
She tilted her head to the side for a moment and then nodded. "Yeah, I had someone come up to me when I was dressed in a kimono and compliment me on it. That was fun!" She chuckled, leaning forward and putting her chin in her hand. "It's either an icebreaker or an insult target; I have to admit, I'm glad nobody has yet pushed me into something and totally ruined an outfit."

"If you're sure, that would be amazing, thank you. Though I'd like to repay you some how. I'm not sure if you're a fan of strawberries but I just picked some from my garden yesterday, probably the last batch of the year with the weather getting cooler. They're about this big," she made a motion with her hands estimating the size between an inch and a half to two inches big "If you'd like them they're yours!" Mei's eyes scanned over the customers faces again, most of them use to Caitlyn's outfit by now turned their attention back to their own food and have since engaged in either reading or conversing with others. "I'd hope that people would keep their rude comments or gestures to themselves." Finishing off her bubble tea, the green-pink eyed girl leaned back in her seat and placed her arms on the rests. "What do you say we go take some pictures? Remember that tree in the woods where we met? Like seven to ten minutes down hill from there is a clearing with some thick low hanging branches that are easy to climb. Or were you thinking of something more industrial for a setting?"

"Strawberries sound like a perfect payment, actually!" Cait replied. "They're my older sister's favorite thing ever, and I like 'em a lot too - and there's all kinds of neat things to be made with them." The prospect of fresh, home-grown strawberries excited her quite a bit.
She nibbled on the last corner of her scone and then took a long sip of coffee to finish it off, setting the cup back down. "Trees sound perfect!" After all, Hanji was part of the Scouting Legion - why not some good scouting shots? "It's too bad this doesn't work," she tapped her 3D maneuver gear rig and sighed, "because I would love to spidey-swing through the trees."

"Strawberries it is then!" Mei stood up with a smile and gathered her things. With one fluid motion she swung both her camera bag and side back over her head to rest on her shoulder. "That would be kind of fun to take some action shots of you swinging through the trees, but that might require a harness and maybe a zip line." Leaning over she picked up her tripod from under the table and nestled it under her left arm "Shall we?" she asked before picking up her empty bubble tea cup to dispose of in the recycle bin.

Cait stood up, adjusting her maneuver gear before scooping up her trash to carry over to the bin. "Eh, posing shots will be fine for now, I think," she said, adjusting her goggles over her eyes. "Though it would be pretty great, given some preplanning, to set up real action shots one day." She laughed. To actually swing around as with 3D maneuver gear? That was a pipedream, but a dream nonetheless.

Once the two of them had reached the park, Mei lead Caitlyn through a row of bushes and down a serpentine path to a clearing she had been to only once before, about a week or two ago. Despite it being mid-day parts of the ground were still damp from where the shadows perpetually lingered. Rays of light streaked through the foliage above like miniature spotlights giving way for great lighting effects. Mei looked around, the place gave her a sense of de-ja-vu as she spotted a seemingly familiar boulder across the clearing Mei recalled the night with the gold-eyed boy. Turning around she scanned the tree line looking for the tree with the eternal scar that was dealt by his chakram. Alas it wasn't there... she shook her head in silence. Her mind was playing games, events of that night still plagued her dreams from time to time, but this was honestly the only other clearing she could think of that would provide a sufficient amount of space for various shots. "Do you think you can climb up on that limb?" the creme haired girl pointed to a tree off to their left that had a large limb that was about a foot in diameter and roughly five feet off the ground.

Cait hummed happily, and she spun around, examining the spot Mei led her to. "Oh wow, this place is amazing!" She said. Woods were beginning to have very specific, awful meanings to her, but she tried to shove that down in the day and the sunlight. Bischofite wasn't here. And he wasn't going to show up.
She walked over to the tree, and huffed slightly. "I think so." It was right at head-height for her, so she could grab onto it and sort of slowly swing up. It took a few tries, but Cait got onto the branch and grinned down. "Hah!"

Mei had been setting up her tripod, screwing her camera to the base so she didn't have to worry about shaky hands or images coming out blurry in the more shaded areas, when she heard Caitlyn's triumphant HAH when she got up onto the branch. "Give me one moment while I swap out my lenses" Unzipping her camera bag, Mei dug around for her mid range zoom lens but instead pulling her her fish eye lens. "Oh this could make for some interesting shots" she said out loud though she doubt her friend could hear her. Putting the fun lens back in the case she pulled out her normal one and removed the cap to swap it with the one currently attached to the camera. "Almost ready." Die Fluegel der Freiheit wink go ahead and spot the youma.

Cait glanced around, and then her eyes caught movement and she squinted in that direction. She swore she heard something crashing through the trees, and she looked down.
"Hey, Mei...do you hear that?" She asked. 'Please, please don't let it be a youma, please please please,' she prayed, but the crashing got louder and she looked back in that direction.
When she finally got a look at the thing, she couldn't decide if she wanted to laugh or scream. It was an almost humanoid figure, all black with two right red eyes and a wide gaping mouth frozen in a strange, crazy expression, head tilted at an odd angle, arms flailing, with a very, very rotund belly.
If she didn't know it was a youma, she would've said it was a Titan. "Oh my god," she said, and then she looked down. "Hey, Mei? You might wanna get out of here, there's something big and angry and very possibly hungry coming our way."
