The job hunt hadn't gone well -- or maybe it was just driving him slowly mad. Veer had neither the patience nor the qualifications for most of the jobs out there, no matter how good of a coder he was, and as things stood, he was about ten seconds from calling up mom and dad for a bit direction. A reference. Talk to a friend of a friend. He'd sent out twelve resumes, today. That meant that, now, he could afford to take a break. WoW had lost some of its appeal, in this moment, in the face of a hot girlfriend and a bit of trouble -- or maybe Veer was just having trouble entertaining himself for so long every day. He was far enough behind in television that he basically had to start series' over. His manga backlog was overwhelming. So, naturally, he set to a new project. When Quinn wound her way home, she'd find him under the desk, with furniture pulled all away from the walls -- working, diligently, on reorganizing, tidying, and labeling every cable so that the electronics in the apartment all made easy sense...

When Leto and Remarque had finished the job that they had seeked out in MirrorSpace and Remarque decided to stay behind to reflect or rest or whatever it was that he was doing, Leto decided she needed to go. Not that she wanted to go home neccessarily. Home meant powering down, it meant really truly realizing what had gone down that night, coming to terms with responsibility and well.... It was pretty probable that once she wasn't powered up that the injuries she had sustained would probably hurt like a ******** she should probably seek medical attention. However when she finally decided patrolling in her condition wasn't an option, she powered down to Eternal stage and stepped through the mirror- exiting through the mirror that hung on the wall in her living room. As she stepped through, her Senshi form dissolved into her civilian clothing and suddenly there were hot tears threatening to stream down her cheeks. Her leg buckled under her, not at all willing to push through the pain of the stab wound from the glass shard that went through her pelvis. With only one functional arm to break her fall, Quinn collapsed to the ground in a flurry of blood, sweat, tears, and a violent spew of curse words. It wasn't until she saw veer under her desk that she stopped screaming. Her chest heaved with a deep and shaky breath before she finally managed to ask through clenched teeth, "What the sweet ******** are you doing?"

The sound of Quinn coming through the mirror was a familiar one, background noise that couldn't distract him from the careful cropping of tags down to wrap around wires. The screaming, the shouting, the cursing -- that was a bit less routine. Veer blinked at her, both of them on the floor, clippers still between his teeth for a long moment while he just stared at Quinn. Stunned, maybe. Confused. Trying to process what he saw, and figure out what to do next. "...what the ******** am I doing?" Hysteria raised, slowly, in his tone of voice; clippers dropped on the floor and Veer fumbling up to a crouch, then over to check her out. "The ******** have you been doing?"

The change in his tone of voice made Quinn cringe, her entire body tensing. "I'm okay," she murmured as she slowly managed to roll onto her back, blood beginning to seep into her clothes at her pelvis and shoulder. She closed her eyes for a moment, an attempt to calm herself and take a breath. "Why were you under my desk? Why is all the furniture moved?" She licked at the corner of her lip, not realizing that her face was bloody too. In fact... She couldn't remember actually looking at the mirror when she mirrorwalked home. How bad did she look? Her dark red eyes finally opened to look up at Veer crouching over her, trying desperately to force a grin at him to reiterate just how fine she was.

She looked up at him and he looked down at her and frowned, stubborn and unhappy, taking in the damage for a long moment. His fingers went to the wound on her pelvis, lightly moving cloth aside. By the time he was done, the color was draining from his face. "I'm calling an ambulance." He rolled back onto his heels and reached out, patting along surfaces, trying to remember where the ******** he'd put the phone. Obviously, not where he wanted it right now. "We can tell them you were stupid and drunk and went through a window."

She winced as his fingers gingerly moved clothing aside to see just how bad the damage was. Pushing herself up onto her elbows, she was finally able to get a good look at what Veer saw that made him panic and lose all color. Well s**t. "Nononono~ They won't believe I'm drunk, they'll test me or something!" Quinn reached out and grabbed at Veer's shirt to pull him back towards her and away from a phone of any sort. "It'll heal, I'm not going to a hospital. I'll just... Not patrol until it's better or something, I don't know. I don't want to make a big deal out of this, okay?" Quinn was asking a lot, and she knew that. She also knew very well that a hospital was exactly where she needed to be, but that didn't mean she wasn't going to be ridiculously stubborn about it.

Veer blew out a breath as she hauled him down -- his expression unimpressed, mouth pulled tight, eyebrows tugged down. He could be stubborn too, and he would be; unyielding, in this. "Then we'll just say you're stupid and were showing off. Give me your phone." He held out a hand and twitched fingers toward his palm, demanding. "I lie well. I can come up with something really ******** convincing, trust me."

She reached into her pocket where both her cellphone and her henshin pen were residing, her fingertips brushing over her phone... She thought about it, for a quick moment. She knew she should give it to him. Instead, her hand wrapped around her pen and she took a deep breath. "Wait. Something happened in MirrorSpace. I don't really... Know how to deal with it. If I should deal with it. I..." She cringed and her free hand went to the bloody wound at her hip, gripping it as if that would somehow stop the pain. Through clenched teeth and called out to her Asteroid and powered up, shifting to Eternal Sailor Leto for a very brief moment before looking him in the eyes and pushing herself past Eternal and into her Princess form. She let it linger for a moment, so he could really understand what exactly she had just done, before she fell back to the ground and powered down.

It was a reveal, that was for sure -- one that made Veer stand still, shut up finally, blinking and trying to figure out what he was supposed to do with that. The impact would have been stronger if he'd been in uniform, the strength of her aura washing over him. Then he'd have really understood. There was time for that yet. For the moment, though, he could shrug it off, some -- slowly, uncertainly, his eyebrows knitting and a frown tugging at his mouth. "You getting a new outfit doesn't mean you don't need to go to the hospital." A beat. "Come on, Quinn, give me your phone. We can sort out the rest later."

She closed her eyes and sighed heavily, digging into her pocket a second time- this time to pull out her regular ol' cellphone. "It's not just a new outfit. The power is incredible, Veer. Like Ares." She opened her eyes to look up at him as she handed him the phone. "Do you think that means she's not coming back? Remarque... He upgraded too. Are we supposed to do this without her? I don't know if we can handle the Court without Ares. I just. I do everything for her. How do I change that? How do I just make decisions?" The speed of her words was increasing, along with the pitch, as she started to very obviously panic. Everything hurt and she was suddenly bombarded with responsibility that she always sort of had but now it was official and now it meant that Ares may not be coming back... And that idea scared the ever living s**t out of Quinn.

"You tell people what to do all the ******** time. I don't see how anything's changed." Phone in hand, Veer didn't even hesitate; his thumb found the numbers 9-1-1 immediately, and then his eyes resettled on her. She looked freaked out, but certainly the EMT's would give her morphine, and that would chill her out. "I'm telling them you were trying to climb a fence, and if they ask for more -- oh. Yes. Hi. I'm sorry. I'm freaked out, my girlfriend tried to climb a fence and she fell -- oh god, there's so much blood --" Veer wasn't that convincing in his horror, but it sufficed. He got the important information out there, got the address for them, and then hung up to consider Quinn's expresison. "You'll be okay." Whether he meant physically or not....

"I don't know!" She cried out and rubbed angrily at her eyes to rid of the stupid tears that were threatening to stream down her cheeks- both from pain and frustration. "What if everything changes!?" Really, she didn't even know what that could possibly mean. She rolled onto her side and curled up in a fetal position to await the medics that she knew were definitely on their way now. There was nothing that she hated more than being vulnerable and weak, and curled up on the floor next to Veer, that was exactly how she looked. Quinn closed her eyes and choked back a sob because she wasn't going to unravel completely, she couldn't let herself. "Jesus ******** Christ this hurts..." She would be okay, because she knew that Veer wouldn't ler her die here. Whether or not her mental state or that of the DMC would be okay, only time would tell.

They had some time to talk, but Veer didn't; instead he put pressure on the wound, struggling to keep her from losing more blood, from drifting into unconsciousness. When the EMTs finally showed up, everything would dissolve into a whirlwind of activity: checking on the wound, carefully moving her into the ambulance, something sliding into her veins that would take the worst of the pain away. At least Veer was going to follow, whether they wanted him to or not, with blood still on his fingers. Strangely more calm in the mess of things than he was when things were normal, joking with one of the guys and settling in comfortably. Hopefully Quinn was insured. sylent nyte you wanna end this somehow? do you want to do another too?

If the two gaping wounds weren't going to kill her, she felt like the silence would. But instead of allowing herself to ramble on and on about nothing (or freak out about something that probably didn't require a freak-out), Quinn kept quiet and allowed him to keep pressure on the bigger of her two wounds. Her eyes closed, but she would respond any time he said anything, to show that she was still conscious. Quinn's eyes fluttered open when the flurry of people moved into the apartment and quite literally swept her off her feet. While she didn't want to admit that Veer was right in calling an ambulance- because to her that meant that she was weak and incapable- she knew that there wasn't a chance in hell she would've made it through just by going to bed and hoping for the best. So before the medication kicked in in its entirety, she reached out for him and murmured a quiet "Thank you," and then slipped into a sweet sweet drug-induced sleep.
