Recently, it was let known we'll be seeing a world beyond Hogwarts and Hogsmeade, where the Horuxes were found and destroyed, where the Quidditch arena is. "Mythical Beasts and Where to Find Them" will be an extension of Harry's world, 70 years before Harry himself is born. Leading the audience through the travels of his discoveries is Newt Scamander himself.
The movies avoid some subplots, stick to others, and substitute players in the game of danger and excitement that Harry introduces us too. In that respect, turning a potion challenge into a spell test, denying the Dursley's a chance to redeem themselves, and letting Luna assist with the quidditch match might have been an error in judgement, but readers know about the events.
This book has no written plot and we know only about the history from those lessons that Harry himself was taught, was found on Wizard Cards, or was taken from the Official site itself. With over 70 creatures found within that book, what do you think the producer will be glossing over, or cutting out altogether. At 2 1/2 hours, you know it's gunna happen.
I doubt they'll go into the history of the bogey, but I'd love to see it. Likewise, those mythical beasts that geniunely aren't world reknowned like pixies, unicorns, or Kappa will likely get the axe when it comes to screen time. It would be nice to learn how Peeves got to be what he is, how Scamander figured it out, and who was the first victim.
Find a way to put a spoiler in this. I DARE YOU. There is NOTHING to spoil here.
No [...spoiling...] the guy's name or the subplots. Seriously. It ain't cool. I didn't read the book. Encrypting it with "Someone we both know" is about as useful as having your college warn you a class you didn't know you were failing is going to put you on college suspension if you don't pass and refuses to tell which one.
