DestinyCon is Now Open!
Discarded streamers lined the sidewalks just outside a gargantuan building, upon which hung a plethora of posters and fliers advertising the event held therein. Two large glass doors marked the grand entrance, if the large plastic banner advertising the event did not tip one off from a great distance. The frosted glass lining the majority of the building prevented onlookers from spying on the wares without having purchased a pass, but the booths adjacent to the entrance provided plenty of opportunity to remedy the situation.
Two individuals lounged across from each other, each running a purchasing booth, and awaited any and all strangers to flood the place and flash their badges or claim their tickets. The booths themselves sported loud, warm colors, with a large banner supported overhead to advertise the ability to buy a door pass. Those who manned the booths were clad in typical DestinyCon uniforms - an orange polo shirt adorned with an ornately-written DestinyCon logo, and a name badge pinned just above the breast. On the back, printed in bold black lettering, was the word SECURITY - thus denoting their position and inability to tolerate shenanigans. Black slacks completed the look, though they were not visible to passersby.
With just moments left until the grand opening, the main doors to the building unlatched with the turn of a key, and one of the raffle attendants poked his head out to give the signal to the booths outside. He lingered just for the breadth of a second as he took in the vast expanse of crowd that awaited her - all manner of individuals, young and old, dressed in their favorite cosplay outfits solely for this occasion.
All these people... They simply purchased their passes to indulge themselves in time-honored hobbies and interests alike. This was a bonding experience for all of them.
And Adrian started to regret his decision to partake in the affair. However, as a hand jerked him back inside, he was given little time to contemplate such frivolous philosophies. He had a job to do - and no one was going to stand idly by while he gawked at the crowd and blocked the door.
Afterward, he and the short blonde slipped into their respective booth, which sat directly in front of the opening doors with ample room to divide the crowd. The word RAFFLE was advertised heavily - the sprawling letters spilled over the vibrant paper covering, as well as the banner. Even their name tags advertised their duty. Nevertheless, he drew a deep breath, donned his most charismatic smile, and waved toward the first people who drew past the threshold. "Got a dream, honey?" He purred to the nearest girl, clad in a stunning cosplay of Blue from Wolf's Rain. "Buy some tickets; you might like what you win." Despite his clever wink, she went on her way.
And the girl approached the absolutely vast sprawl of booth after booth, table after table, of wares and vendors alike who offered such diversity in their sales that she could barely pick where to start. Each booth had a theme, and every one was aptly decorated to suit their fandom. She was surprised at just how many different types there were - from ikebana to Syfy t-shirts, from Shoujo manga to videogame music CDs - how would she pick where to begin?
Even the walls sported so many different posters and advertisements and artist's drawings that her vision practically swam in processing all of it.The majority of the posters advertised the raffle, as well as the rules for purchasing or redeeming raffle tickets, and others advertised possible prizes for the aforementioned raffle. However, there were also a majority of fandom posters spanning all the major affairs, like Star wars or Naruto or the Final Fantasy series. Intermixed were various artist's drawings, of original work and fanart alike, all with prices placed neatly atop the cellophane encasing them. But as she watched the posters stretch high, it drew her gaze to the ceiling.
It was at that point that Sirsce picked up on the layout of the tables, cleverly offered by a hanging poster near the center of the unconscionably large room. The tables were arranged in such a way to direct traffic to visit all of the booths, so that each vendor got equal face time as the rest. It was a clever idea, really. At least now she'd know where to begin her explorations within DestinyCon.
But it felt a little chilly in there... Maybe it was just her costume.
Bischofite felt the sudden drop in temperature as he finished packing the last set of stuffed animals into their respective bins. Already enchanted to drain energy, he marked them with a purple tag before stacking the bin against the wall, just outside the keycard door to the actual convention area. He despised falling in line like this, but he understood that he had to assume these duties regardless.
With a sigh, he scanned the room to gauge what the other officers were doing - those who opted out of facing the public or filling frivolous security roles to do the grunt work. The majority toiled over enchanting product laid across a variety of tables, each with a corresponding bin sporting the number and letter to denote booth location. The room itself stretched long and narrow, and turned in a ninety-degree angle down a hall that he couldn't see from his vantage point. Down there, he knew, were the locker rooms for staff to change into their respective cosplays or power up without being seen by the general public.
As he watched, two individuals emerged from the hallway in full cosplay, and each claimed a bin that had been stacked against the wall, after swiping their keycards, they exited onto the convention floor, where they would deliver the fresh merchandise to their incognito cohorts. Yes... They were the booth assistants, those who received the mundane task of running product tirelessly through the day.
He also understood that, to avoid suspicion, they were discouraged from enchanting goods from outside vendors, such as those who contacted the convention hosts to obtain a booth. At least in that manner, they might shirk any sudden suspicions from people fainting due to lack of energy. Not everyone sold the same tainted merchandise.
Soon the dull roar of the audience breached the door, and the agents therein would have to endure the cacophony. And as much as he would prefer to slip out for a drink from Jade's refreshment stand, he was required to stick around in case one of the lower ranking officers scampered up to him with a dozen burning questions. The likelihood of that? Nil, or at least he hoped. With a sigh, he returned to the makeshift card table set up with a host of merchandise. No rest for the wicked - not today.
Welcome to DestinyCon!
Thank you for signing up for DestinyCon! The doors are now open, and everyone who signed up is welcome to begin roleplaying in this environment! Though staff and booth positions are no longer open, anyone is allowed to enter their characters as visitors until further notice!
Since this is a convention full of cosplay, quote me with your character and their cosplay so I can make a note of it on the front page! This will amount to an easy reference sheet for different characters to spot and interact with each other due to the cosplays they're wearing. It also makes it easier to ferret out other characters of similar fandoms.
As you may have noticed, in the plot thread is a list of characters as well as their assigned task for DestinyCon. Below you will find the rules for participating in your respective positions! Please, don't hesitate to PM me if you have any questions!

Visitor Rules
Visitors are only required to have fun! Any visitor may visit the various booths, or even come up with an NPC booth for the purposes of roleplay, and spend money or interact with the booth owners.
- If a visitor spends money at a booth, I ask that you keep track of your purchase amounts throughout the roleplay so the character can redeem raffle tickets. However, participating in the raffle or making purchases is not required.

Booth Rules
Any non-Negaverse character who runs a booth is subject to these rules!
- You may spend as much time as you please manning your booth, but you must make a post about manning your booth at least once during the duration of DestinyCon.
- Please list the merchandise and pricing in a spoiler at the bottom of your first tag in a quote to me. I will update the front page with your booth name and merchandise for easy tracking.
- For purposes of RP freedom, every booth has a partner character, whether that is a character played by another player or an NPC created on the spot. This is to ensure your character has the ability to visit other booths, go to the bathroom, or hit on the ladies. Use this to your advantage if it suits you!

Security Rules
Any Negaverse agent given the security position is also assigned an orange polo shirt with DestinyCon written across the front and SECURITY written across the back. They also have a name tag listing either their real name or a legitimate-sounding pseudonym. Everyone will be required to wear black slacks as well.
- As a security agent, you are not given any weapons or means to subdue any unruly citizens. Mainly your job is to wander around, interact with people, and stare angrily at anyone who looks like they might murder someone, shoplift, or otherwise hit on your significant other. Really, any reason to look intimidating is a good reason to look intimidating.
- You will be required by your superiors to make rounds about the convention and keep an eye out for senshi activity. If you suspect anyone to be a senshi or knight, you are instructed to pass into the staff-only area (which you have a keycard for) and inform your superiors. They will issue further instruction.
- If anyone faints, you are the go-to person for immediate first aid. You may not know anything about it, but you are instructed to put on a brave face and act like you know what you're doing. Anyone that collapses from exhaustion should immediately have their items taken to the raffle desk (which doubles as a customer service booth) and then escorted to Lt. Amethyst or one of the other on-site First Aid administrators. They will address the problem further.
- You also have a walkie-talkie to contact other security agents, the back room, or any of the on-site First Aid administrators.
- As a security agent, you cannot cosplay. Sorry! However, should you decide to turn in your security outfit on your lunch break and have a cosplay outfit in your locker, you are more than welcome to don that while you mingle with the crowd on your lunch hour!

Raffle Assistant Rules
Raffle Assistant characters are all crowded into the first booth at the front door, and each one is highly encouraged to cosplay as a means to draw the crowd.
- As a raffle attendant, you will be expected to interact with a lot of people! After the initial surge of people, you are free to leave the booth and seek out random cosplayers to advertise the raffle or sell tickets. You should also emphasize that showing a receipt will also qualify them for tickets!
- The conversion rate for purchase amount to tickets is $5.00 for one ticket. Otherwise, tickets are on sale at the rate of $2.50 apiece.
- At the end of the night, all raffle assistants will be called to the front stage, located behind the plethora of booths, to announce the raffle winners! Please keep your ears open for the announcement, as you will be expected to head to the staff-only area and change into your DestinyCon uniform to read off the winning list!

Negaverse Booth Rules
Negaverse booths have very similar rules to regular booths, but with a few tweaks.

- If you have a mix of enchanted and unenchanted merchandise, write the enchanted merchandise in purple for your quote to me. This way I can denote which items are meant to drain energy - and you will want to use that color coding if someone purchases an energy draining item from you!
- If you find yourself running low on product, flag down one of the patrolling security agents to relay that information to the back room. They will bring out a tote with extra merchandise.

On-site First Aid Rules
As a first aid tech for this occasion, you don't have a whole lot that's required of you until an emergency strikes, so be prepared to enjoy the con!
- You will be supplied with a first aid kit as well as a walkie-talkie. If any security agents spot a downed civilian, they will radio you so they can pass off the civilian to your superior first aid skills.
- You also cannot cosplay while you're working first aid! You must wear a green shirt with the DestinyCon logo on the front, and FIRST AID on the back.
- If you spot anyone with a potential medical concern, you are encouraged to confront them - even if it's just to flirt. The more welcome you can make people feel, and the safer they feel, the more likely it is that they'll stick around and purchase more enchanted merchandise.
