Ilmenite was feeling reckless; two drinks in, with a handful of energy pearls tucked into one pocket, his judgment was just skewed enough to make things interesting. The air was crisp, cool enough to be comfortable even in his jacket, weather clear enough that his feet wouldn't get wet, and for once, the walk home actually appealed to him.

He shed smoke, as he walked, and maybe not all of it was due to the cigarette burning down between two of his fingers.

The blip of an order signature -- a powerful order signature -- caught his attention the second she came with in range, left him blinking and polishing off his cigarette. Another time, in a different mood, he would have gone in the other direction. No need to cause trouble with the other side. Ilmenite was far better suited for recruitment, for morale, for teaching and reassuring newbies, than he was fighting.

Today, though, it was tempting.

He let her get a bit closer, at least, before crushing the cigarette at his feet and teleporting from his alley to hers, several quick jumps until he was within her line of sight.

The Eternal Senshi of Tigers struct gold the moment she powered up, and she couldn't believe her luck that she felt the tingling of a Chaos aura, a rather powerful one at that, the moment her transformation was over. Sailor Tsui may have had classes and a part time job to juggle during the day, but at night, her Senshi duties came first, and Tsui wasn't the type to ignore a Chaos aura, no matter the strength of it or of herself, nor the distance. A Chaos signature that strong? Could only be trouble, and Tsui wasted no time taking to the streets and hunting it down.

She knew that she should have been a little more cautious, given her last run in with General Benitoite, and while she still carried bruises and a heavy conscious from that event, she knew she could not shirk from her duty. She couldn't. Not when she knew what that were capable of becoming…

Suddenly, the Chaos signature that she was tracking seemed to shift, and what luck that he had blipped right into her alley! She came to a skidding halt, knowing to keep some amount of distance intact in case he decided he was going to be the aggressor in this situation, and she wasted little time in taking in his appearance. "Hey, thanks for that. Saves me the trouble of having to go find you!"

He was definitely a general, no doubt about that, but he held a unique appearance of his own compared to the other generals she encountered. His weapon wasn't quite as obvious as Benitoite's and Painite's, but that didn't make him any less dangerous, and Tsui didn't immediately jump into a combative pose, but the way she clenched her fists made it clear that she was ready to have a throw down, should it resort to that. "You're a general I haven't seen before. Just how many are you running around anyway?"

There was still smoke in his lungs when he landed; he blew it out as he took her in, took two slightly-wobbly steps to the left and then, with a hum, disappeared again.

It was about half a second before he reappeared almost within arm's reach, toying with his pack of cigarettes between two fingers. His cheeks were, just faintly, red -- and, at this distance, the smell of vodka lingered some. It wasn't the overpowering scent of the lush on the corner, but it was distinctive.

"There's enough of us. How many of you girls dressed like animals are you? I swear, it's always cat ears and stuffed bunnies..."

Tsui was preparing for a fight and she was even going to charge first. Never a good idea to let the enemy make the first move. But before she could gear herself up and strike, he was gone, and she gave an annoyed spat, preparing to spin around and half expecting him to appear there instead. "Drats, that never gets old with you guys, does it?"

However, there was no general behind her, and she turned back around, just in time that he was standing within arm's reach. No amount of iron will could stop her from jumping in alarm, and she brought her fists up in defense, even when there was no strike coming her way. Maybe it made her look paranoid, but Tsui simply did not trust him, and thus far, she had no reason to. She was preparing for a fight, but when the repulsive stench hit her nose, and gave a grown and actually throw her hands over her nose, taking a step back not in fear, but in disgust.

"Ughhhhhhh, gross! Are you drunk?" Tsui knew what the smell of alcohol was, as she had gotten her fill from Richard when he snuck a few bottles into his office and had the nerve to come scuffling into Krishna's establishment, but somehow, it just seemed all the worst with this general. And she could see why, as she glanced at the cigarette carton he fiddled with as he gave his explanation. "Enough, I guess. Met one of them the other day, actually… do they allow you to drink on the job like that?"

Then, she pointed to the carton in his hand. "And should you really be smoking those? Or does chaos prevent lung cancer too?"

"Jesus Christ, how old are you, twelve?" He flipped the carton around between his fingers, expertly opening it one-handed and pulling out a cigarette. Old bar tricks, the kinds of things that impressed people enough that they didn't realize he was stealing from them -- whether it be their cigarettes or their wallet. He shook his head at her as he settled it between his lips.

"Should you be picking fights with people bigger than you? Probably not. Should you be respecting your elders? Well, my parents always tried to instill that in me, at least...do you have a lighter?" He raised his eyebrows at her, meaningfully, and while he might have been a little bit drunk...well. There was still something sharp in his eyes.

Flushed and a little clumsy? Yes, but that didn't mean he couldn't be a troublesome opponent if he wanted to be.

Tsui's response was typical for someone with a temper as short as she was, and she was certain that she'd snap her own fingers in rage if she tried to tighten her balled fists anymore at his comment. "If I was twelve, wouldn't I be a Chibi? Do I look like a Chibi to you?"

The Tiger Senshi was never one to realize when she was falling for someone else's bait, and while the little trick he displayed with his hands and the cigarette would have probably impressed her if she wasn't fuming, she only allowed his insults to dig her rage even deeper. Normally, she wasn't self conscious about her height, but somehow, this guy managed to bring out the worst in her. "Look, I've taken down youma that were bigger and probably rougher than you, and unlike you, they weren't drunk. I'm not afraid to-"

He asked her for a lighter, and she almost bite her lip as she spat. "No, does it -look- like I have a lighter? Do you see these stripes? Do you think I'm capable of just producing fire out of thin air?"

Had she not been seeing things through a haze of barely contained rage right now, she might have noticed the sharp look in his eyes and suspected something, but Tsui was always a victim of her emotions. Always. "I'm just thinking that you already have chaos rotting you from the inside- do you really want your lungs and liver to go too?"

"It's an addiction; it's a need. I can't give it up that easily. Just like you can't help but snarl and stomp you feet every time someone pricks your pride." He offered her a smile as he said it, too-sharp, eyes narrowed to slits. Slowly, he tucked the cigarette back behind his ear. Smoke trailed from it -- strange, since it wasn't lit. Ilmenite, at least, didn't pay it any mind.

"A big snarling tiger in a little girl's body." He shoved hands into his pockets, at that, and at least straightened a bit -- focused on her. If she came at him, he was ready to disappear.

He didn't like to fight at the best of times.

Tsui grit her teeth and while she only continued to throw herself deeper and deeper into his trap, though she was confident in herself that she'd be able to fight her way out should the snare's doors slam shut. The days of being afraid of generals was long since behind her, assuming she had ever had a fear of them to begin with. She was simply too bullheaded to feel fear. Only annoyance.

"Guess it makes sense. You got so much chaos inside of you, I guess any attempt to save yourself from cancer is like pissing in the wind," Tsui said with a sneer, crossing her arms and giving a spat. If he wanted to throw around insults, then Tsui would return fire, even if her verbal blows couldn't match her physical ones. "And I wouldn't be quick to make fun of me because of my looks. You're hardly worth noting yourself, kilt-pants!"

She had noticed that the cigarette was smoking but she hadn't seen any flames or lighter, but it was hard to concentrate on that when every impulse within her screamed at her to just deck him in the face. And how tempting was that with the way he held himself, nonchalant and not a care in the world. It certainly made even the patient of senshi want to just wipe that look off his face. And Tsui was not patient. She wanted nothing more than to wreck his face, especially with his most recent insult. "Unless you want to taste a tiger's claws, you need to keep walking. If you can even walk, all boozed up like you are!"

"I'm a general, sugar. I don't need to walk." It was laughing -- and, in demonstration, he blipped out again, landing a bit awkwardly on her other side. Sure, he could only teleport so much, but a few feet wasn't going to wear him out. And it looked flashy as hell.

It was his favorite part of being in the Negaverse. Not that he'd admit that to any of his superiors...

"My grandmother died of cancer, by the way, it's a bit insen..ins..." That was a hard word when his tongue felt as heavy as he did. He flashed her a grin. "Bit rude to poke fun of a serious health condition. I would never. Who's corrupt now?"

By this point of their encounter, Tsui was more annoyed than apprehensive, though a bit of that came back when he demonstrated the ability of teleportation, even if it was short lived. He didn't teleport far and he still seemed content to pester her instead of fight, and she expressed a hint of jealousy as she shook her head at his tactics. "You know how incredibly not fair that is? How is it that you get the teleporting abilities and not the ones with magic?"

Yes, she was envious. How cool would it have been to teleport from place to place? It would certainly make getting to a friend or civilian who was in danger easier. Not to mention all the many ways one could abuse it. "But I guess that renders the whole 'don't drink and drive' lecture pointless. Though how funny would it be if you teleported yourself into a wall and got stuck? ... I'd like to see that!"

Then it came to his comment about his grandmother and his grin, and she gave a curious tilt of the head. "If she DID die of cancer, assuming it's lung cancer... then why are you even taking that risk? And judging by the Chaos inside of you, general, it's still you! Your starseed's probably as black as your lungs by this point... your liver too."

Truthfully she should have felt bad for making such a comment, but she didn't know his grandmother, and how could she know he was telling the truth? At this point, she trusted any member of the Negaverse like she trusted the propaganda and news reports about Senshi being terrorist. Which was... absolutely not. "Look, are we going to fight or not? Because I'd really like to smack that stupid grin off your face right now."

"And what would a fight accomplish?" He raised his eyebrows, rocking where he stood -- casual, easy. He wasn't about to take the first swing. And if she did, he'd probably disappear; the question wasn't just cavalier, wasn't just making fun of her. It was touched with a genuine edge of curiosity.

"Other than making you feel better. What would the goal be? What are you hoping to achieve?" Likely she was used to officers raring for the fight, not ones who asked philosophical questions.

"I'm pretty sure that hitting people just to get rid of aggression is called a hissy fit."

"I don't know... knocking you out would guarantee that you're not going to hurt someone, or yourself, in the state you're in?" Tsui offered, knowing it to be a very basic and simplistic, maybe even naive, reasoning, but Tsui wasn't going to bother trying to guise it as anything else. Of course he might not have been as drunk as he let on, which meant that if she just let him walk away that he could sneak up on an unsuspecting victim who might have been fooled by his act. Maybe it was a little paranoid of her and even wrong to assume he'd resort to such a thing, but it was still within the realm of possibilities, right? "And I'd get the added bonus of enjoying it, so, why not? You seem to have your things, and I have mine! Making sure you don't hurt anyone is my thing."

She didn't particularly care when others questioned her goals, and some of that reflected in her voice as she gave him an honest answer. "Honestly? I don't trust you. I don't trust anyone in the Negaverse, and I certainly don't trust the Dark Mirror Court. If I leave you alone, who's to say what you'll do! Maybe you'll do nothing, or maybe you're going to hurt someone, and I don't want that. Whether it's intentional or not."

At one point in time she thought that maybe there was hope in finding some even ground with the Negaverse, but that was pure naivity at its finest. Tsui wasn't the brightest crayon in the box, but even she knew when to call it quits now. She was more accustomed to fighting simply because it was easier than having to deal with someone's questions, and yet, she managed to keep herself from striking still. Not a sign of patience, but rather, knowing it to be pointless when the jerk could just teleport away. "I don't think hitting you will solve all the problems I have with you and your kind. But I'd certainly like to give it a try, hissy fit or not. It's not like you'll accept us Senshi as anything else besides your enemy anyway, right?"

"You savages? I think not." At last, the amusement melted out of his expression and he went still, looking down at her with his head tipped. Ilmenite's eyes were dark; not quite black, it made them hard to read, but right now, they seemed just a bit dangerous.

"I saw enough of your kidnapping, your torture, your games early into my initiation." This was slower, careful. He was picking his words now, head tipped to the side. Taking her in.

"I figured, what with Ares seeing the light and the Blood Moon disbanding...but you seem just as itchy for a fight as ever. You say that I might hurt someone, but you're the one out hunting for a spot of violence, aren't you? I was just having a drink and smoking my cigarette."

She could tell she struck a nerve just by the way his amused expression seemed to fade away, and she wondered if the whole drunk demeanor was nothing more than an act, as he seemed fully alert and aware now. Or maybe that's just how touchy the subject was for him that it was enough to chase away whatever alcohol that was in his system. Either way, it was enough for Tsui to remain aware on her and on her toes, should he intend to lash out, and as damning as it might have been, she couldn't help but allow her scowl to fall into a snide grin.

"You're still thinking we do that? So I guess the paranoia and lack of trust goes both ways, because that's exactly how we feel nowadays. How can you expect me to believe that you're not up to something when others in your rank are constantly planning ambushes and attacks, on innocent civilians, no less?" Tsui knew that she should have felt bad for what Ares and the Blood Moon Court did, and yet, she didn't. She refused. That wasn't her, just like he likely wasn't part of the Carnival. She couldn't remember if he was part of the ambush during their meeting either, but like hell she'd drop her guard now. Especially when his drunkness seemed like a clever ruse after all. "I'm itchy for a fight because we can't go to any public events without thinking 'gee, I wonder if this is a Negaverse ambush again!' We're itchy for fights because, really, that's all my encounters with your kind have been... maybe not started out as such, but then SOMETHING happens and the ones to usually instigate it is either one of you or your youma, and sure enough, we're fighting."

She probably should have stopped, but now she was just too angry to stop. If she had hurt him, then she wanted to press the advantage. If it made her a warmonger, that was acceptable, so long as the fight remained between the two of them. "I'm patrolling the streets keeping civilians and my other Senshi and Knights safe from the ones in your organization that seem to take this whole ordeal way too far. Just because you're out for a drink and smoke doesn't mean others in your organization aren't, and so long as officers like Painite exist, Senshi like ME will exist. Remember, you guys started this new war with your irrational fear of a queen that's probably dead and the most of us Senshi don't care about!"

This wouldn't help the White Moon's reputation, but what did Tsui care? Even if she found SOME shred of proof, she knew that he wouldn't listen. No one would. Maybe peace was pointless after all? Let someone else repair the damages between the Negaverse and the White Moon... it certainly wouldn't be her. And Tsui was alright with that.

Her points were good; her anger, less so. They were two sides of a coin. Each of them were right, but she was crippled by her temper, and him by the vodka that heated up his blood and touched his cheeks, his nose, the tips of his ears. Ilmenite hummed, chin up to look down his nose at her, taking advantage of his height.

"You're the invaders. A force on foreign soil -- our soil. You didn't have to come here..." He shrugged, leaning in a bit, hands disappearing into his pockets now. He didn't even brandish a weapon at her.

"Just because you're helping civilians, if that's true, doesn't mean all of your companions are. And if you're going to take the first swing on someone who's taken no offensive action -- and could have -- that's on you too."

He pointed, meaningfully, at his jawline. But if she swung, he'd disappear.
