What Do You Look Like: Gwendolyn is a youthful, radiant, shapely woman with fair skin, platinum blonde hair, and penetrating icy blue eyes. Her attire generally consists of a custom-made breastplate worn beneath an ornately embroidered cotton tunic that is belted at the waist with a thick leather belt. She wears heeled thick leather boots that reach all the way up to her thighs, and a pair of thick leather pants underneath. She wears a pair of custom-made metal and leather gauntlets to protect her hands and forearms. Gwendolyn is also seen wearing an eyepatch, covering the eye that she lost in battle in her youth. She has a very athletic build thanks to her strict and intense training regime. She has a rather youthful appearance and the face of a princess or damsel, but any comments or flattery about her looks will fall on deaf ears.

What Do You Like: Males
What Of Your Past: Gwendolyn's birth story was one of great scandal at the time. Her father, a dragon, had fallen in love with a common courtesan in the White Flame Kingdom, but the worst part about it was that he had defied the elders to constantly visit her under the guise of a normal human. He had donned the identity of some foreign nobleman, and only mere months after they had met, Gwendolyn was conceived. Unbeknownst to the elders, Gwendolyn was going to be the product of a dragon and a human. Both scared and excited, her father brought her mother from the Kingdom to his homeland, where they lived in seclusion up until Gwendolyn's mother finally gave birth. Furious, the elders sent for her father, demanding that he return to the city at once when they had heard of this atrocity, this abomination that had been brought forth to the world. Their word was all that was needed, yet when he failed to show up within the hour of his summons, a group was sent out to force him back. By the time they located his camp, however, Gwendolyn, her father and her mother were long gone.

From that point on, Gwendolyn and her family lived on the run, traveling from city to city and land to land. All the while, her mother was completely oblivious to her father's true identity - she believed him to be a sorcerer and a nobleman, not a dragon. She was both fascinated and frightened by him, but the love she bore the man was more than enough to keep their union strong, and despite the hardships they faced with constantly traveling, Gwendolyn's parents kept strong and supported their daughter as best as they could with what little resources they had.

For nearly a third of her life, Gwendolyn lived within the confines of the White Flame Kingdom, where her parents had presumed that it would be safe for them. Her mother resumed her work as a courtesan while her father worked as a palace guard. They were permitted to live within the castle, and so from the age of about 3 months old to 11, Gwendolyn grew up around nobility, knights, and royalty. Yet as she grew up, the girl's interests were less in dolls and dresses, and more in leather and steel. She aspired to be more like her father - a guard, and less like her mother - a woman of the court. Gwendolyn would often sneak out of her room given any opportunity and watch the knights and squires train, up until her father discovered this and forced her to spend more time with her mother and the ladies-in-waiting. After less than a day into that lifestyle, Gwendolyn decided it was not for her, and traded her needle and thread for a perfectly balanced steel short sword.

Disguising herself as a boy, Gwendolyn kept her hair back and pinned to make it appear shorter, and attended the training sessions with the other young and aspiring knights. She proved to be a gifted warrior nonetheless, but after her father went missing while on a mission, Gwendolyn's mother made the ultimate decision for them to move out of the Kingdom and find a safer home, far away. Gwendolyn was only eleven, but by then she had already grown at least half a head taller than the other children (and the other squires). They traveled for what seemed like an eternity, and right when it seemed like all hope was lost, they found a new home in the Kingdom of Lunaris. Gwendolyn continued her training from there, though now she had no mentor but her memories. For the next seven years, Gwendolyn trained by herself in her spare time, away from the view of her mother who would have forbade her.

Once she turned sixteen, Gwendolyn left home with her mother's blessing in pursuit of fortune and power. She returned to the White Flame Kingdom, where she resumed her training as a knight after insisting and beating down the group of men that challenged her because of her status as a woman. Her prowess as a knight was proven in the countless battles she'd fight over the years, but none of them were as life-changing as the one she had against a mysterious mercenary who referred to her as "Gwendolyn the Blind". It was the first time she'd been called that, but by the end Gwendolyn came to understanding the meaning - she was becoming blinded by her pride. Her arrogance in combat led Gwendolyn to lose an eye in the battle, but from that point on Gwendolyn has fought every battle believing it would be her last. She has never underestimated an opponent since then, nor has she ever believed herself to be the 'best'.
What Are You Able To Do:
Corpus Draconis: (trans. Dragon Body) Gwendolyn was born the daughter of a dragon and a human. It seems, however, that Gwendolyn is a little more human than dragon. As a result, she is unable to shift into dragon form, yet in exchange for this, her more 'dragon' side is exhibited in ways only seen when she focuses or is in combat. Gwendolyn is much stronger than any normal human. She's more durable as well, and boasts a larger energy pool than most - this is due to the dragon blood coursing through her veins. It empowers her in ways that makes her somewhat stronger, faster and stronger than the average human. This makes up for her inability to change into dragon form.
Talem Draconis: (trans. Dragon Empowerment) Being born of dragon blood, Gwendolyn is capable of generating dragonfire from her body - most commonly through her mouth, but Gwendolyn has also been seen imbuing her weapons and the weapons of others with dragonfire to enhance its damage potential. Gwendolyn's flames are unlike normal flames in that they will not spread unless she makes them. She can also directly control the heat of the flames by channeling it into her own body, which is naturally more heat-resistant than most. Passively, Talem Draconis gives her an added layer of defense against the cold, allowing her to walk around even in below freezing conditions with just normal armor and not even so much as shivering.
Master Swordswoman/Knight: Gwendolyn has been extensively trained in the art of swordplay. Her specialty is the greatsword, though it is known that Gwendolyn began her career as a knight fighting with a longsword and is equally as skilled with a greatsword as she is with a longsword. Gwendolyn also carries a set of daggers on her persons at all times, which she is less skilled at wielding but is still capable of effectively fighting with them if she needs to. Gwendolyn also has experience with ranged weaponry (ie. bow, crossbow) but isn't nearly as talented with that than close-ranged weapons.
Master Huntress: For some time, Gwendolyn lived alone and was forced to fend for herself. She has developed a strong survival sense and is capable of all things associated with hunting, from tracking to killing to building a tent and starting a fire. It was now become something like a hobby of hers.

I really like the story and background. Intense.

As well I like how you describe your abilities. I enjoyed reading it. That is for certain. As well, I would like to see her and Frederick fight each other. That would be an interesting dual between Great Sword Experts.

Also, nice song.

I Approve this character.

good luck.
