"Ask her."
"I am not going to ask her that would be rude."
"Ask herrrr."
It had been a conversation that he had been having with his little familiar for the last minute, her insistence that he attempted to branch out to the young miss that had been walking in front of him. He was sincerely lost, uncertain what he should be doing now that he had things like school and whatnot to compete with - so he was hoping he'd find some kind of solace.
There was just something about asking a random stranger about something so embarrassing. Giving a little withered face down to Elvira, he received a glower back, before she pranced around his legs. "Do it or I will." A pout was received, before clearing his throat.
"Hello . . . miss. . . are you available?"

'Walking' was kind of a generous assessment of what it was Angeline was doing. Without Terra around, Ange had taken to trying to navigate the hallways of the Reaper Dorms by herself.
Which is where she was precisely not. So her mental map currently had the dorm at about a million feet wide as she was trying to figure out where her room was again. She'd be kind of out-of-luck for the time being, at least.
She had run into a few people (accidentally), but hearing someone pipping up made her look around - not very subtly either. In fact, for a moment she was waiting to hear someone respond to the request and eavesdrop a little.
Nothing.
".........Um..." she looked towards the source of the voice (or rather off over his left shoulder and at the wall beyond it). "M...me?"

Oh, she actually heard him!
Now what.
Clearing his throat a little, he went to take another short step towards her, keeping a reasonable distance from her (it was just right, considering she was a lady), playing with the edge of his coat. A stare from Elvira kept him from just hiding away in his greenhouse again.
"Well, I fear that I am a little lost. Have you been here long? I am uncertain what the local kin do when they are not in class." He admitted a little, looking behind him a little as he talked, wondering what she was looking for.
Did he accidentally interrupt a future meeting of the young lady's desire.
"You are a reaper, also, correct?" May as well try to make friends.

Her face kept moving, adjusting to the sound of his voice and trying to pinpoint exactly where this stranger was, her own hands pulled in close to her giving her this appearance like she should have been lifting a skirt to keep from stepping in a puddle.
"Oh, I'm always a little lost, it's okay to ask stuff I'm sure..." If it wasn't, she'd probably be in a world of hurt, after all. "The local....what?" Angeline's head was spinning a little bit. Was he asking about..social..stuff? Oh goodness, he was asking the wrong person. "To be honest..you're...totally asking the wrong person, I mean, I sit in my room by myself and listen to tapes and run my fingers through the fibers of my throw rug, I don't....know...where anything in town is, if that's what you mean...."
Biting her lower lip, she looked around nervously. Shoot. She probably sounded like a herpity derp like nobody else's business. Oh no, she was boring.
"Oh, yes. I am. I mean, I hope I am or my whole life has been a lie, I mean I am but-" she continued to ramble, beginning to twist her hair in her hands.

Tilting his head a little, her quirks were starting to show as peculiar to him. Was there an issue with her sight? It was a little rude to ask out right, especially since he had not even correctly introduced himself to such a lady. Eyebrows raising, he looked the young miss over again, before clearing his throat a little.
"We are two of a kind then, in many aspects. Reapers, and misplaced a little. Where where you attempting to get to? Maybe I can help you if you're willing to converse with me further." He offered, his temporary fret about personally being lost trumped by a young lady in distress.
"He's very good at finding his way through places. Elvira piped up from his legs, trying to help her reaper. She was rewarded with a little glance, but he couldn't decline the assistance - he was a little good at mapwork and whatnot. It was simple geography.
"I am sure music and fabric are much more interesting than talking to plants, also." He quipped, hopefully being kind enough that she would not stress so much.

"Oh, I'm not really attempting to get anywhere, I'll admit. I was just taking a walk around the dorm." Except they weren't in a dorm. A part of Angeline knew this. Another part was blissfully denying this so that she'd not go into another pit of panic.
The second voice pipping up nearly made the clockwork jump right out of her skin with surprise. Oh my jack, where did you come from have you been there the whole time???
"Oh, not music. I listen to books. It's the only way I get to know the stories, after all." she smiled sheepishly. "Can't exactly read to myself. And it's alright. I like bark and scales and other strange things better to touch, but it's an alright pasttime. Safer than blindly wandering."
A pause.
"....Pun...not..intended..."

"Elvira, now you've gone and scared her. Forgive our intrusion, we weren't aware that you had no sight." He piped up a little when she jumped a little, giving the familiar a look, which was only returned with a glower back, before he bent down to pick the little deer by her scruff, going to close the distance a bit, holding her out to the reaper. Her pun about blindness cleared his curious mind, and he figured he may as well show her the little voice.
"This is Elvira, she is my familiar - my partner, I suppose." He offered, holding her still, feeling the little fluff of the deer fuzzing up in frustration at being dangled close to a pretty girl.
"Bark's not bad, have you ever pressed up against silk? Such a pretty feeling." Elvira could only ask, not feeling as remorseful as the manchild that was holding her up by her scruff, giving the girl a quick once over again. She may be considered pretty, to the deer, but Elvira felt she was much prettier, deer wise.
"Regardless, maybe we could keep you company -- we are . . . not quite in the dorms anymore. I am Ashton Glenfiddich, also, a pleasure to make your acquaintance, my dear." He offered, before deadpanning, even if she couldn't see it.
"No pun."

"I'd be honestly surprised if you didn't have some suspicion of it. Unless I've actually managed anything like eye contact by dumb luck." she laughed, but it was a strained laugh that was a lot more stressed than jovial. Oh. That would have been a day to remember.
She reached out cautiously to feel at the warm thing that was in her radius, brushing her hand over fur and..not-quite-fur. Touch touch. Felt a little harder than fur. Fur?? Notfur?? DId I bury it? Did I eat it??? Where is it?????
TOUCH TOUCH TOUCH TOUCH TOUCH. Elvira had just gained the title 'No Personal Space'.
It only stopped when Ashton announced that indeed, Angeline was no longer in Kansas the Reaper Dorms. She..probably should have figured. "I see..... Well! It's very nice to meet you, Ashton." she smiled, "I'm Angeline Neilson." she would have offered a hand but...she probably would have accidentally karate chopped him in the spleen or something.

"It would have been rude to ask without your name, first." He admitted, clearing his throat a little as she took Elvira from his hands, looking her over again. "You do a good enough job for someone who is sightless, I can admit." He figured, watching her as she felt her way around the little creature, which was awarded with little statements like Eek! That's my leg, stop touching my tail!
"Angeline, it is a very nice name." He continued, going to lightly press a hand on her shoulder (very lightly, for he was a gentleman and didn't want to impose himself further. He just figured he could get them walking again.
"How long have you been at the school? If I may ask, what kind of reaper are you?" May as well do some small talk while she touched Elvira.

"Thank you. My parents chose it well." She beamed. They were both fantastic people, after all. Oh, parents, parents. For someone who actually had them, she certainly loved them. "And eh. I figure most people can tell and I'm not ashamed of it. A little shakey around the edges, but no shame."
"I have been at school for-" tick. tick. tick. tickticktickticktickticktick. As she seemed to be recalling the time, a very faint clock noise seemed to come from her. "Ten months, twenty two days, 12 hours, thirty six minutes, twelve...thirteen...fourteen.....fifteen....." she continued to count out the seconds for a few moments before she shook her head and suddenly perked right up.
"RIGHT! Sorry. I get lost in the clock sometimes..." she laughed and fidgetted with her hair for a moment. "And well...I'm a Clockwork reaper.." she laughed a little more awkwardly that time, "Which might..explain...."

A clockwork, hm?
When she did the little fancy number with the minute-work, he couldn't help but feel like it was right for her, a movement all on it's own that was distinctly hers. He almost envied it a little, being so profound with time.
"Such precise timing, I wish I was able to pinpoint such a time, I only have the last few weeks under my belt, if anything." He admitted a little, giving her a warm smile, still not good with the whole 'she could not see this' realization, before lightly leaning over to pat her shoulder, hoping to get her walking so they could find their way back to the Reaper Dorms.
"Maybe I could bring you back to the Reaper dorms, so that you find your feet, as it were?"

Angeline laughed, rubbing the side of her neck. "We're all born with an internal clock and we use it to wind through time, back and forth and can even program it to the times of others." she explained, "by which I mean I could rip open your own time and allow you to pass through it and view it." That probably didn't make much sense, but it was the only way she could explain it.
Never the less, she didn't mind keeping his company, leaning into his hand when he pat her shoulder and beginning to walk.
"I would very much like the help, it seems that ever since Terra went back home I've been kind of..up the creek without a paddle."

Thinking a little to himself, he lifted his unused arm, scratching his chin lightly at the thought. He wasn't entirely sure how he felt about the potential of knowing his past. There was an uncertain feeling, almost concrete, which made him sigh out of his nose lightly, going to pat her shoulder again, before lightly grabbing her arm and hooking it with his, so it would be easier.
"Honestly, I do not think about my time line or internal clock very much. It gives me a rather large headache if I try too hard." He admitted to her, sighing lightly as they left the first building they were in.
"We kind of have just. . ." Elvira paused lightly, thinking for the right idiom, "Let laying dogs lie, I believe? It will come." She figured, shrugging from the shoulders of the blind reaper, as comfortable as usual.
"So I can only hope." He murmured quietly, just above a breath.

Angeline nodded thoughtfully. "It's a skill that is only suited to those who want it anyways, so it isn't as if I could force it onto you." There was a tone in her voice that implied a yet, though. Still, she was inclined to let them keep their memories where they were since that was what Ashton and Elvira wanted.
Angeline pet the familiar on her shoulders as they walked, her other hand holding the crook of the arm that her own had been linked with tightly. "Sometimes it does seem like a bit of a hassle, I'm ingrained with the need to be....timely." It was an awful pun and at the same time it was the literal truth. Being late to anything was just one of those things that was only rendered possible by her inability to know where she was at any given time.
"Best thing to do now is just pave the future and not think too far ahead." she tapped her forehead. "It's worked really well for me, anyways."

"I am sure it has come to the aide many times, my dear." He admitted, giving her a soft look, even if she could not see it. Patting the hand in the crook of his arm lightly, he stepped in to the familiar building of the Reaper Dorms - he was no where near ready to consider the connotation of 'yet' in her statements, but knowing that she'd be willing to take in such a messed up boil as himself, that was comfort enough for him.
"I am more driven to biology and herbology. I strive best when I am surrounded by plants and the work that come from it. I am unsure why, but it always feels . . . right." He admitted to her as they walked down the hallways, sighing out of his nose. "If I could be as punctual as some, I am sure it would help." He finished, giving her a light-hearted shrug and chuckle, before lightly scratching the back of his neck with her final statement.
"Yes, that is what I've decided to do. We couldn't just stand around expecting an epiphany. I am just a little . . . overwhelmed by the feeling that a lot of this is not what I am used to." He figured. "I can only hope time helps this."
