Mind and Body
Some rare individuals, whether born of natural talent or the subject, of experimentation, exhibit Psychic abilities. Moving objects with their mind, reading thoughts, healing wounds, enhancing physical traits, or making fears manifest have all been documented, if only in top secret or personal files. Psychic ability seems to be limited to mental and physical fortitude, the former to wield it's power effectively and the latter to withstand it's use. Thus a person with a weak mind and body may still have some aptitude, but it will likely be inferior to one with more developed mental and physical abilities. So far few, if any, cases of physic persons have displayed more than one or two related abilities. Someone with Telekinesis may have the ability to not only lift and throw objects, but is not likely to also be able to create or control fire. The power of the mind, fueled by the might of the body, made real.
The Price of Blood
Myths and legends, and even history, will tell you that blood holds power. And not some metaphorical power like the bloodlines of royalty, real and true terrifying power to those that know how to unlock it. Dark rituals that call for blood, lots of it, created by the one who researches it, Blood Bathing. No ritual devised by another will work for any but the ones who created it, and so a new ritual must be formed and balanced by each ritualist. What one seeks to gain, power, health, immortality, but be balanced with the sacrifice completely. If you wish to be ageless, forever young, to heal lethal wounds, to be immune to disease, and holds power over the blood of others or even throw lightning, you must make the sacrifice equal to it. The frequency you perform the ritual to maintain your power, how it's done, what you need, and how much of it you need all factor in. Perhaps you need to perform it every 50 years, but maybe you need to bath in the blood a of dozen innocents bled alive on a full moon. Perhaps you just need to paint yourself in blood, with the blood of a fresh kill every few days with a special knife and specific brush. All power worth having has a price.
Immortal Souls
Through some rare and strange ritual, there have been those who have seized true immortality. Unable to die, or rather, unable to stay dead. Through the ritual of the Sanctified and the death of the practitioner, they bind their very souls to the spirit world, the Shadow Realm, and so upon their death their souls are thrown into the Shadow and return to or reconstruct the body in a safe location. Aside from this, they possess little in the means of supernatural power, if anything. But still, can one really argue with being unable to die until you choose to?
A Change of Skin
Ever wanted to change your face? Get in shape faster than should be normal? Ever see someone and secretly wished you had their life? Some people don't have to wish and want, they can just take it. Either through unique psychic abilities or dark magic rituals they can change bodies like skin suits. The victim is killed in the process as their soul is forced from their body, and leaving causes the previous body to die. In this way, a Body Thief can always escape, or even live as long as he can find fresh bodies to steal, not something that's hard to do in modern times. Feel like being the new CEO of a big company where you can just sit on your a** and collect the money? Take it, steal the suite inside the suite, and you just got a new job, and a new life.
Worshiping Madness
Cloaks and chanting, shrouds and secrets, some Cults are just crazy, and some are simply there for the rich and bored to sate questionable desires. But some Cults go deeper than that, some have actual power, the power of madness incarnate. They serve a very real power, one that is unlike any in our world, and in some cases, unlike any in our reality. Alien gods, demons of other dimensions, mistakes in the laws of physics, and who knows what else. The leaders have the most favor, and the most power, but loyal servants get their due as well. Service to such things breeds madness as they are quite apart from our sanity, granting rituals of that require weird and horrid offerings, to strange powers found only in horror movies and books, lashing tentacles, gaping maws, and subtler things. But some seek to fight madness with madness, they learn the rites of such beings without serving them, but rarely are they ever granted powers, how could they without directly serving it? When the gates of madness lie before you, with power that sits on the edge of sanity is within your reach, will you take it?
Blood and Service
The Ghoul, the Vampire's Servant, the Blood Doll, whatever you want to call it. A person who has been infused with power by the blood and will of a vampire master. The Ghoul likely has a Blood Bond, a forced and mystical 'love' and servitude, despite how they may really feel for their Regent. And is likely to have a Blood Addiction as well, urging them to feed on vampire blood like a crack addict to get a high. Despite these, drawbacks, there are benefits to serving a Vampire, you gain the powers of a vampire, if only in slight form, and can train them to further heights, albeit with greater effort than a vampire would. You can expend the vampire blood that you ingest to heal wounds or amplify your physicality, and you won't age a day. All this can be your's, so long as you keep getting vampire blood to keep your powers going, either by service or by force.
Infernal Souls
Stories are everywhere these days, books, movies, and TV all have their share of Demons and Possessions. Maybe some of them are bound in truth. Demon can and do possess humans when they have the chance. Demons rarely enter our world in their full power, if ever, but they are here. The whispers in the night, the devil on your shoulder, that playground where all those fights break out all the time, they induce evil and vice wherever they go. And what better way to spread it around than with a physical body? Some don't even know when the possession happens, just a headache and some hallucinations at worst, with a feeling of nausea and illness. But once it's done, they know they aren't alone, even in their own bodies. Two souls inside one person, fighting for control. The Demon infuses it's host with infernal powers, it's hard to get a body so might as well defend it. The Possessed gains access to Minor, Lesser, and Greater demonic powers and the host is free to use them, even advance them and gain new powers, but deepening your infernal power will deepen the Demon's hold. The Minor power is a small passive benefit, the Lesser power requires some effort to use and lasts decently long if it has a duration, and the Greater power requires much more effort, lasts only a number of seconds, but can be pushed further at the risk of Burnout, causing the power the backlash painfully against the host. Demon's can tell where a person's weaknesses lie, what vice calls to them most, and they look for one who matches their own, vice to vice, it makes it easier. After all, a wrathful person will be more likely to agree with a wrathful demon that the guy who bumped into you on purpose deserves an a** kicking. So how about it? Feel like wielding the power of Hell? there's always room for two.
Possessed are the only Minors with a super stat, Vice. The greater their Vice, the greater their power, but the stronger a hold the Demon has on your soul, and the stronger it's hold the more likely it is to take control.
Other
Strange things walk the earth, and they can't all be listed out. Use this if you have an approved idea that doesn't fit in the other Minors sections.
