She hadn’t spent the night at Jett’s place, but that was to be expected considering she hadn’t brought clothes to change into. She had, however spent a good few hours texting him, at least until she fell asleep. They were going apartment shopping today and she was so damn excited. She was pleased as punch to have her engagement ring back on her finger and had a sort of glow about her that hadn’t existed for a while.
He was supposed to be here soon and she was more than ready, all dressed up and waiting for him outside the door, just sitting on the step.
There hadn’t been much conversation with her parents about the move, but she figured they would understand. Or at least she hoped they would. She was a lady now, after all. At twenty years old, one would have thought she would have moved out sooner. But oh well. She would get her chance now, and she would relish it. Relish it indeed.
Besides…after breaking all of the mirrors…she was quite sure her parents were ready for her to leave. Either that, or they were starting to think she was a bit touched in the head. Whatever worked.

Jett had gotten so used to mirrorwalking in a pinch that it was almost strange to be in his car to head over to Raven's. It was practically collecting dust so he'd had to take a short while to clean it up and make it presentable. The only mess was in the passenger's seat, and it was a necessary mess: papers and articles about nearby apartments and a few small houses on the market.
Jett wasn't usually one to keep her waiting, but today he'd been a little slower than usual. Another late night, though it was fairly different from his usual late nights. He wasn't out, trying to save senshi or rid the streets of wraiths. He'd been up late, texting her.
Oh, and then the call to his mother; that had been fun.
He wasn't one to hold a grudge, but the conversation had been long and awkward and left him all sorts of tense. Things had been worked out, though he was huffy all the same.
He couldn't believe his mother would keep such a huge thing as a boyfriend from him.
…Though, he was a bit hypocritical in that he didn't exactly tell her there were a few days there where he and Raven weren't exactly together. But what she didn't know wasn't going to hurt her.
He turned the corner and saw Raven looking as marvelous as ever. Resisting the urge to outright honk, he pulled into the driveway and leaned back in his seat. Rolling down his window, he called, "Hey, Good lookin'. Need a ride?"

The stupidest smile overtook Raven’s face when he rolled the window down, and try as she might to force it away, it continued to linger, so she walked up to his car, resting in the open window. “I don’t know. I was waiting for my fiancé, but hey, if you can give me a good enough reason to get in your car, I don’t see why I couldn’t?”
She winked. “Where are you planning on taking me, you handsome devil you?”
The blonde was making damn sure that her ring was in the full light of the sun, twisting her hand slightly so that the light glinted off of the gem and right into Jett’s eyes.
She just wanted to make sure he knew she was wearing it. Because that was an important thing.

The ploy worked; with the sunlight glinting on the gems, Jett's eyes immediately went to the ring. He couldn’t help but admire it. Even if he'd spent a long time staring at it, studying it, planning it. He had great taste; that ring was gorgeous.
"I suppose we'll see where the wind takes us. Either that, or," he drew away for a second and reached over the seat to pick up the papers. He picked them up, straightened them out, and handed them to her. "We could try checking out these places. b***h and gripe about this or that or what we're looking for. Fuss over what's best. Then find a nice, happy home, buy it, and start moving in. Oh, and burgers for dinner, because I'm quite confident I'll be bitching and moaning louder than you by the end of this. Sound good?"

Raven took a few moments looking at the papers, nodding slowly. Some of the places looked really nice. She could see herself living there, without a doubt she could. “I don’t know. I’d love to live some place with a pool. That would be so relaxing in the summer. Just lying outside, working on my tan.”
She looked over at Jett, grinning. “So…You’re going to be buying dinner, yeah? I suppose I can deal with burgers if they’re free.” The blonde batted her eyelashes and laughed, reaching over and poking Jett in the side. “What are you waiting for? Let’s get on with this shindig. We have apartments to hunt for.”
Her eyes fell on one of the papers and she held it up. “Let’s go here first. I like the looks of this place, it’s really pretty…you know. I wish we had one of those super people like they do on the HGTV shows about buying houses. That would make life so much easier, I think.”

"Sorry we don't live in Hollywood," Jett huffed, though still seemed in good humor. A small smile decorated his face and he looked relaxed for a guy working off of only a few hours of sleep who just so happened to be planning his entire future.
But, Raven was in a totally different mood than the last time he'd seen her. She seemed happy—relaxed. It was contagious.
For the time being, he could forget about powering up. Forget about worrying about everyone, forget about fighting. Forget about the wraiths.
He leaned over to get a good view of the address of the apartment Raven had taken interest in. A few seconds gave him enough of an idea on where he needed to be heading, but while he was already leaning over he kissed her on the cheek before returning to a more appropriate position. "But I'm sure we'll do just fine on our own."

Raven shrugged. “If you say so, I guess. But I know I’d feel so much better with some celebrity realtor who’s fishing for what, thirty percent commission? Yeah. I don’t know. Do you think the people on the television have to pay, or does the station pay for them?” She reached over, tugging his hand away from the steering wheel and holding it gently. “Sorry if you can’t drive like this, but I’m feeling needy, I think. So…deal with it.”
She stuck her tongue out and relaxed in the seat, sighing and closing her eyes. This was how life was supposed to be. This was how she wanted it to stay forever. No worries, no threats, no fighting.
Just them. Just Raven and Jett. Preferably forever.
