About: Natalia grew up in a brand-new development where all of the houses looked the same and everyone lived the same boring lives. The only fun part about living there was her next door neighbor, Rory Cameron. For as long as she can remember they've been friends. Such good friends, in fact, that they didn't really form lasting friendships with anyone else. They tried dating in high school, but decided that they made better best friends than anything else. When they graduated, they decided to live together, and moved to Nirvani where they could be roommates away from their boring hometown. For a while, it was great. Sure, Natalia's three Great Danes added some tension, and she and Rory didn't always get along, but life in Sonata Town was new and, while perhaps not especially exciting, novel enough to pass. Together they lived on the island for a few years, until Nat started to get stir crazy. The island was fun at first, but it was quickly becoming as mundane and repetitive as the town they had moved there to escape. She took out her boredom and frustration on her roommate, and for a year the two of them fought and fought. They fought more than they got along, and gradually the arguing became more and more intense. Although they were fighting, they sincerely valued each others' friendship, so instead of risking losing Rory forever, Natalia packed her belongings and her dogs, and moved back to the mainland.

With the whole world open to her, she wasn't entirely sure where to go next. She was much too stubborn to move back in with her parents, so she went to crash on her brother's couch in New York. If having his twenty-something year old little sister and her three dogs bothered him, Edward Piper did not show it, and they lived like that for a few months until Nat found a job as a secretary at a law firm. She did not know the first thing about law, nor did she care, and she had spent most of her time napping at her desk at her job in Nirvani, but she got the job anyhow and settled into a nice, if not particularly glamorous, life in New York.

It was at this law firm that she met Will Almond, a struggling young paralegal who worked on the floor above hers. After a solid fifteen minutes of laughing at his dumb name, Nat discovered that she rather liked this guy -- it had been a long time without Rory, and she was finding herself feeling lonely without a human punching bag to pester and harass on a regular basis. Will was just the perfect combination of spinelessness and good humor to make him a very satisfying victim, and it came to the surprise of no one (or, rather, no one named Natalia) that those feelings quickly turned to love~ They were married remarkably quickly, living in a tiny apartment with Nat's then-elderly Danes. Obviously, she insisted that her husband take her name, because she had always been Natalia Piper and would always be Natalia Piper, and she'd rather die than become Natalia Almond like seriously what a dumb name. When Natalia was fired for sleeping on the job, they decided it was a good excuse to start a family, and soon the Piper's welcomed two little girls into the world. Nat was a strange housewife, but she enjoyed it, especially since it was filled with napping opportunities.

Nearly twenty years after leaving Nirvani, Natalia found herself preparing to return. Her husband had lost his job when the firm came under new management, and they soon found themselves with little means to support themselves and their urban lifestyles. But more importantly, there was nothing to hold them down. They could move anywhere. Ultimately, they chose Sonata Town. Her husband, charmed by his wife's anecdotes of small town life, had brought up the prospect, and Nat, missing her best friend, agreed. She never thought she'd return, but here she was, on a boat to her old home, her family in tow.

Full name: William Conrad Piper (ne Almond)
Age: 39 [now 40]
Gender: Male
Birthday: Fall 9
Height: 5'8"
Hair color: Orange
Eye color: Brown
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Job: Playwright
Journal/Diary: In his study

████████ ████████ ████████ ████████ ████████ My Storyxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

About: Will Piper was not always Will Piper. He was born William Conrad Almond, the middle child of the Almond family. He had always been a quiet child, meek and passive, and often would have his own wants and desires overshadowed by those more vocal. To be honest, he didn't always mind. From a young age, he had been cursed by chronic indecision, bringing wishy-washyness to a whole new level. Every morning was a series of trials: what should he wear? What should he eat for breakfast? Which toothpaste should he use, mint or bubblegum? His siblings soon learned it was easier for everyone if they were to decide for him, and he was quite content letting others control his life.

He had always had an interest in writing, even though his English grades were terrible and he suffered from chronic writer's block. In high school, he played with the idea of being an English major, but by this point his family had gotten quite comfortable with telling him what to do, and had excitedly laid out a four year plan for him studying law. It didn't occur to him to protest, and in fact he was quite thankful to be able to skip the stress and anxieties of his classmates. He went onto university, getting mediocre grades and enjoying very little of his subject, and it did take him five years to graduate instead of four because he so often panicked when it was time to pick classes that he'd pick the wrong ones, but he eventually graduated. His father, a partner at a law firm in New York, got him a job as a paralegal at his firm. It was a comfortable job, though Will was certainly ill-suited. He fumbled his way through his job for years with very little to keep it enjoyable. That's when he met Natalia.

At first her aggressive nature was off-putting, but soon he was able to see past the taunts and the jabs. Even though she was controlling, she did bring order to his life by telling him what to do -- and she did so with consideration. She always seemed to know what he was thinking; she would always pick where to go for dinner, but she could tell if he liked it or not, and if he didn't, they'd never go back. It was as if she was doing it for his own good, not to suit some goal of hers. He was smitten, and he proposed as soon as he got the chance. They soon got married, and Will took Natalia's last name, because it seemed important to her.

Their life together was not extravagant, but they were happy. Even his job didn't seem so bad anymore, even when Nat got fired and he only saw her in the evenings. They had two little girls, which filled his life with so much happiness he was afraid it would not last. And, in a way, it didn't. His father retired and a new person became partner. Their first action was to lay off Will; apparently the only reason they had kept him was because his father's power. Without a job to support his family, Will looked to move somewhere else. He had always enjoyed Nat's stories of Nirvani, of the festivals and the people, and he knew that that was the lifestyle he needed. He would never look back to his legal career, and would instead pursue writing. They bought a little house on the island, a nice quiet space where he could focus on writing his first stage play.

About: As the first child her parents ever had to care for, Juliette was born into a pretty risky world. Actually, it's probably a miracle she's made it this far. Since her parents had no idea what they were doing, she was essentially raised by her paternal grandmother, who would come by the apartment or take Juliette to her house for the day several times a week. This was rather fortunate for Juliette, as she spent a lot of time with an experienced child-rearer, probably more than she spent time with her actual mother. Not that she has been very difficult to raise! Juliette has always been a gentle child, taking more after her father than her mother, but with a steely determination undoubtedly from the Piper side of the family. She essentially taught herself how to feed herself when she yanked the fork right out of her grandmother's hand, and had taken her first steps in pursuit of a piece of cake sitting on the coffee table. Even as a small child, she is fair yet firm, the type to share her toys happily, but only under the condition that they return it in fifteen minutes. She can't read a clock yet, but she always seems to know when those fifteen minutes are up.

About: Scarlette -- not Scarlet or Scarlett, but Scarlette was pretty much a surprise to everyone involved, mostly herself, as she had been born long before she was really ready to be. You could argue she's still not quite ready. Lazy and moody, Scarlette was a difficult baby who seemed to cry and wail more than she was quiet. It seemed like her first year out of the hospital was just one long temper tantrum due to a premature expulsion. She calmed down eventually, but not until she had worn her parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, neighbors, and daycare workers thin. The only one who could really keep her in a cheery mood was her big sister, and the two still continue to be close. Now that Scarlette has grown up, she has become less volatile, though she is easily displeased by small things, like clothes in the wrong color or food that's touching on her plate. She is a bit of a diva, but could you really expect anything less from Natalia's own offspring?
