About the clan
Species: Any
Naming: Nothing specific
Coloring: Anything will do, there is ideally no prejudice as far as colors and species, although meat eaters tend to stay away from the herbivores.
Territory: A massive valley between two large mountains. There is always plenty of food for everyone. From berries in the forests on the edge of the valley, to fish in the stream that runs through the middle, there is plenty to go around. Some of the most distinguishing features are the large ice capped mountain to the west, on the side the carnivores tend to hang around more, and a large conifer forest to the east, where the herbivores tend to stay. There is a large market place in the middle where business of any kind is held. The nursery, temporary rouge housing, and other miscellaneous, but needed things are held there.
Hopefully a map will be added in the future
Story
The Dohiyi clan was developed more recently, made for all those whom were turned down by other packs, clans or prides for what ever reason. It started out as a single small, nomadic, and unorganized group of individuals, but over time the group grew larger and needed some order.
Around the time the clan was settling down war arose in the area. The evil effects of war struck the clan, and distrust was bred. The herbivores began to be weary of the predators, which they had been able to get along with before. And, because the war sapped the land of prey, the predators began to hunger for their plant-eating friends.
One horrible night a group of three young sabers slaughtered a horse out of desperate. When the corps was found the next day chaos broke out. All the herbivores went into a full fledged panic, and the hungry carnivores took advantage of the situation, breaking into a feeding frenzy. Thankfully, only about four died before one bear, Cherry Blossom, made a call for order although it was more like a war cry and simply got everyone's attention that allowed her to convince them all to stop fighting.
After wards, the clan moved to a new, bigger, better spot, that was not war ridden, and allowed both the herbivores and the predators with plenty of space and food. A system to keep the different parts of the food chain in order. Still, there are occasional problems- there is no such thing as a utopia.

Beliefs and views
Religion:
Members of the Bohiyi clan are allowed to worship whoever, and what ever they like. There is no set god, or goddess. However, sacrifices and other related ceremonies are not permitted if harmful.
Ceremonies:
Although there is no set religion, there are many ceremonies held in the Bohiyi. The main ceremonies are the coming of the seasons, Giving of vows, and the Feast of Thanks. There many other smaller ceremonies though.
Coming of the seasons:
Celebrated four times a year, celebrating each of the seasons. The focal point is the large feast held together. Although there is no set religion for the clan the seasons are heavily emphasized, and
Giving of vows:
This is a large (or small if the happy couple so wishes it) ceremony held to celebrate a life mating. Flings are by no means looked down upon, but life matings are very cherished. The giving of vows ceremony is not always held when two are life mated, but it is said to bring good luck on the couple.
Feast of Thanks:
The feast of thanks is like Christmas and Thanksgiving combined, and takes place in the middle of fall. It is a large feast where gifts are given. The gifts range any where from rare stones, to pinecones.
Initiation:
Initiation is usually a smaller ceremony where some one who wishes to join is brought before a leader and asks to be allowed into the clan. It is a rather simple ceremony. Although, if a large mass joins at one time, it may be a bit larger festival.

Blessing of a child:
When a member of the clan realizes she is with child a ceremony is hosted for that person by her friends, either as a surprise or at her request. The size varies depending on how many are invited.
Gender roles:
Gender roles really very from person to person in the Bohiyi clan. Although, traditional views are most common.
Mating:
Life mating is highly thought of and celebrated, but flings are not ill thought of. Rogue breedings are also allowed. The only thing close to discouraged is same sex mating, although most simply tend to look the other way instead of fully acknowledging it or shunning the two.
Life conditions:
In general the Bohiyi clan is very relaxed within itself. However, despite its very relaxed atmosphere it is actually rather militaristic set up. It also has a very large trading industry and highly emphasizes the arts. Music is highly enjoyed, especially at festivals.
Common objects made in the clan include: Drums (skin or some other stretchy material over a hollow base, which is frequently a hollow log or branch), baskets (usually weaved with grasses or flowers), a guitar like instrument (made by tying any number faux threads to two logs, rocks, or sticks) and pretty much anything else really (within reason of course). Most commerce is held within the marketplace between the herbivore and carnivore sections.

Social ranks
Unless other wise stated, positions are open to all genders and all species
Political positions:
Grand Overseer:
The over all head of the clan. Must always be a bear since bears are omnivorous and thus less likely to be skewed. Once the Grand Overseer dies a vote is taken to see who will take the last one's place. The Grand Overseer also functions as the supreme justice and police. There is a special den for the Overseer in the main section of town, so that its views may not be skewed. The main goal of their job is to keep the peace.

Head General:
The general is always a carnivore, but it does not matter what species. It is their job to issue any commands to do with battle, from training warrior and hunter apprentices to directing daily scouting and hunting schedules.

Head Advisor:
The head advisor must always be a herbivore. It's main job is to assist the Grand Overseer with choices. It is also in charge of watching over the crafts men/women, their apprentices, and general management of business.

Counsel:
The counsel is a group of five select individuals which meet with the big three to assist them in making fare decisions. Two are carnivorous, two are herbivorous, and one must be a bear.
Herbivore counsel members: 1/2 Stormy
Carnivorous counsel members: 1/2 Rime
Bear counsel member 0/1
(please include the area which you would like to over see in joining application. Carnivores are not restricted to army and/or hunting and herbivores are not restricted to the arts)
Warrior/hunting classes:
Sargent:
The sergeants receive direct orders from the Head General, and are expected to report to the Head General frequently. There are a total of two sergeants one is in charge of anything concerning battle, mainly patrols. The other works with hunting and scouting.

Scouts:
Scouts go on dayly patrols around the border of the territory, protecting the clan from out side forces that wish to hurt them, and welcoming in the rogues with good intentions or in need of a place to stay for a little while.

Hunters/huntresses:
Hunters/huntresses provide food for the carnivore members of the clan. They also serve as protection and an army for the clan, in case they are ever needed. They frequently have apprentices which they train how to fight and hunt.

Caretakers:
Caretakers watch over the young in the nurseries. They are considered very highly, as their job is very important. They are considered in the warrior classes because it is important for them to be able to protect the children.

Healers:
Being a healer is considered a very important job, since they frequently are needed to help with anything from a kit's booboo, to a hunter's battle wound from a bird hunt gone wrong. They frequently have apprentices which gather their supplies for them.

Although there are many musicians there is a select group of highly celebrated musicians who preform in the market frequently and at ceremonies.

Crafter:
A crafter is one who creates anything from baskets to drums for the clan (please keep in mind that the way of crafting said item must be physically possible for that animal. Ex: A horse most likely wouldn't be able to weave a basket with its hooves, although it might be able to hollow out a stone by constantly scraping it out with its hoof then stretch a pelt over it with its mouth in order to make a drum ) . They trade their goods in the market square most of the time. Although, they may also travel to other clans and sell their goods, or trade their goods pretty much any where they want, but the market square is the most common place. They frequently have apprentices who gather supplies for them, if they do not they may trade raw materials with other crafters or gather them for themselves. They may also trade food (ex: blahblah fruit is a rare delicacy, but a crafter has managed to get its paws/hooves on one, so it may trade some blahblah fruit for something like a drum).
Standard musician:
These musicians are kind of like street performers, they go where ever they like and preform where ever they like, from private parties, to hosting their own concerts.

Pre-adult classes:
Apprentice:
Apprentices are very important for the clan. They serve under any class (usually not one of the political classes though) and watch in order to learn how to do the job when they grow up. Usually they choose what class they want to apprentice under, and their mentor tends to be chosen by their parents for them, but not always. Once However, even once they have selected their path the clan permits changing it once they are adults. There mentor decides when they are ready to graduate (IC, however, OOC they will continue to grow of course. They, of course, do not have to RP this stage out unless it is desired). All the apprentices who graduate are announced and celebrated

Little ones:
Little ones are just that, the little ones. Anyone younger then an adolescent is considered a little one. They are watched over by the caretakers while their parents work.

I've been trying to come up with something this boy could do for awhile now, but I think I've found his home! I want to be born again in Bohiyi!Image: Name: Stormy Desired Rank: Herbivore Council Member Personality Blurp: An altogether awkward and somewhat clumsy male mammoth. He takes great care to move around carefully so as not to accidentally step on any one, as its one of his greatest fears. He's a mostly quiet and reserved fellow, but his observational skills help him access situations carefully and consider every detail. He wants everyone to get along, and will do everything in his power to ease the tension. Brief History: A small mammoth, especially for a male, he just wasn't cut out for typical loner life. It was lonely and most strangers thought he was weird for trying to talk to them. As a young adult he came across the Bohiyi clan and was amazed at the variety of animals that could live together in peace. The incident with the carnivores shook him up pretty badly though, and he's been working double-time to make sure everyone is happy and at ease with one another again. He seems like he will be a very good counsel member smile Origonally I was going to have them each oversee a specific area of the clan, but, I don't think I will anymore, just have them all kind of do what they can since there are 5 of them, so don't worry about that smile Yeah, there was no clan for Cherry blossom or either of my un-naturally colored sabers to go (although I think there are clans for unnatural sabers now, there wasn't at the time). As well as a lack of anywhere for most herbivores to go, thus the Dohiyi was born smile My only worry is the lack of bears in the guild and how heavily the clan relys on the bears as peace keepers xp I'll add him to the members list and Rankings later this afternoon, when I'm on my computer smile
