Honestly?
I'm really disappointed.
Even moreso when the starters first came out.
I wasn't too put off by Chespin or Froakie, but Fennekin really surprised me.. I'm sure they could have thought of something better than another fire fox, and it looks really unbalanced next to the other two starters. It's really just my opinion, but I feel like fennekin is just a bit /too/ cute. It kind of makes me want to turn up my nose at it because EVERYBODY else is going to pick that pokemon and there's not going to be too much variety.

But the second-stage starter evolutions really changed my opinions.
I already preordered X (I'm a huge sucker for deer, plus it seems like it's going to be a grass-type legendary while yveltal is going to be flying of some sort) and was planning on picking Chespin and Squirtle. But then I saw Chespin's evolution.
He's cute and all, but...
They just inflated him.
He's a balloon. A /balloon/
Froakie's evolution is totally what I expected, so not too much disappointment there.
But Fennekin's evo.
Just looks fantastic and adorable. I've heard two adorable ideas about that stick in his tail. One idea suggests that stick could actually be a magic wand!
And I'm pretty sure that Fennekin's last evo is going to be a fire/psychic type (If not purely fire, the second evo doesn't have a secondary type yet) so that's definitely putting him at the top of my list because of my intense adoration for psychic type pokemon.


What are your feelings on these evolutions? Have you preordered? Which starters are you going to choose?
