How could people belonging to the same organization have such conflicting views? Irene was completely perplexed. Acanthite's version of the Negaverse was quite different from Nickeline's version. Rather than filling in the gaps, each new person she spoke to splintered the picture even more, until she had no idea what she was looking at. Was it a warm family of people who happened to be tainted by Chaos, or was it a ruthless mercenary organization? Or something else entirely?
She had to know. Fighting still made her uneasy, but fighting something she didn't understand made her feel somewhat sick. Youma were easy- they were mindless monsters who needed to be exterminated before they hurt anyone else. The people behind the youma were still a mystery. Irene didn't like mysteries. Clearing up confusion was, she had always thought, one of her skills. Until now.
In retrospect, she would realize that giving her full attention to these thoughts while walking home from work wasn't her greatest idea. More than once she almost walked into people, and she bonked her head on a lamppost while making a turn. Few problems consumed her to this extent, but few problems had such dire consequences if she happened to get them wrong.

Lieutenant Aluminite was still adjusting to this second identity, to this other part of his life. So far his ventures out in this strangely dressed state had been...interesting to say the least. He had learned that he was inept and fail worthy when it came to draining energy. If Tealite hadn't come and saved his a**, well he likely would have ended up in the hospital.
Then there was that weird cat lady who wanted his picture.
He didn't know what to expect when he ventured out of his flat and decided to power up. He also wasn't too sure of what he was going to do, in all honestly, so he took to wandering the streets. With his hood pulled up over his head, he was grateful for the DestinyCon because it meant people didn't look at him so weirdly for his Assassin's Creed-like outfit.
Sure, there were whispers from strangers questioning why his costume was gray and green rather than white and red but he ignored them. Pushing through the crowds when he stumbled upon the unfamiliar pulse of an energy signal and a girl continually bumping into other people.
Before he could stop himself, he hurried forward and touched the purple haired girl's shoulder lightly. "Hey, you okay? You keep running into people." He was oblivious to the fact that the energy signal was from her.
