So you wanna live in Charybdis, do you?
Well, whatever the hell put that in your head I suppose that there is no getting rid of it huh? The damned place is pretty hostel to those who try and live here, though it’s in no way as bad as that Void place from what I hear. Our little group has more or less banded together out of desperation because there is so little water that is drinkable here we’ve had to focus what little resources we had into water filtration. We need to pull it out of that damn red sea and purify it, we drank the fresh water stuff a hell of a long time ago and that nasty a** stuff is all that’s left. Yep, you’re drinking that stuff now. It ain’t so bad when you distill it right… but mark my words, you’ll get the trots for the first week or so while you’re body gets use to it. We usually distill it like alcohol to get rid of the contamination that’s in it. Taste’s god awful but then again so does the food around here too. If you really wanna come to this place to live I suppose I won’t stop ya, hell, it’s better than that Dirge s**t hole they got over across the Gore Ocean, it may not be as secure as them cave dwellers in Sanctum Whats-it either but we do alright for ourselves. We try to live right and do something good but hey, we still live in a pretty hostel world you know? Our laws are pretty basic and usually it’s those who have been done wrong that enforce the law. So just keep your nose clean, okay kid?
s**t, what else can I tell ya? Try not to go too far into the Gore ocean if you don’t have too, we have some pretty nasty beasties living in there and they been mutated big enough to take down ships. We do go on supply raids every so often on the mainland if we are desperate for something and we can’t get trade for it. We ain’t pirates though… granted some of us make the living from it… but we try not to associate ourselves with them. They give us a bad reputation and it makes it all the more harder to get our supplies from other places.
So ya still wanna stay here huh? Well, alright, there’s some lumber over there, we’ll get you a basic shelter for the night, you’ll have to finish it yourself though…
