Sulmanon had been flying above campus again, looking for any trace of the karst topology that would indicate the possibility of caves, when she saw a glint of bronze below. Curious as to what it could be, she flew a bit lower, only to see that the bronze was a who, not a what. She had read enough about other types of dragons in her books to know that the ghoul below her was a bronze dragon, but she wondered why she was here. They tended to leave home even more rarely than those of her race. Curiosity overtaking her, she flew down and landed next to the ghoul.


"Hello!" she said cheerfully. "My name's Sulmanon. If you don't mind my asking, are you a bronze dragon?" Of course, first thing in her mind was to confirm her belief before she started asking the ghoul more questions about herself.

"So I was right! It's nice to meet you Ithildin." Sulmanon said excitedly, happy that she had correctly identified the ghoul, then, finally processing the ghoul's comment she calmed down. "I had to learn to fly quietly, otherwise I would not have been able to explore the area around my house. My parents thought I should do nothing but study... Anyways, I read that bronze dragons very rarely, if ever left their caves, so, may I ask why you left?" When asking the question, Sulmanon switched from calm to emotion_kirakira .

Having no clue why the other ghoul blushed and started staring at the ground, Sulmanon was a bit relieved when Ithildin looked back up. When she heard Ithildin's explanation, her jaw dropped. "Wait, what? You came here to learn how to control your emotions?" she asked completely confused.

"The entire reason why I came here was to let mine run free! My parents wanted me to be all prim and proper like they are, but I don't want to be that way, I want to be me!" Sulmanon explained, flabbergasted that someone would come to Amityville with the exact opposite reason for coming there that she had.

Hearing the other dragon's reasoning, Sulmanon calmed down a bit. "I'm not supposed to get emotional either. My parents told me it was something about our family being leaders and that a good leader needed to be level headed, but my family hasn't led anyone for over a thousand years... I think they're just stuck in the past." Then, taking one more calming breath, she apologized. "I'm sorry for going off on you like that, it's just my parents... never really ever gave me a chance to be me, they always wanted me to fit this concept they wanted for me. It always drove me batty... That's why I like it here: I'm out from under their claws and can do as I wish."

When the other ghoul then mentioned cookies, Sulmanon was completely confused for a second. Is she trying to change the subject to a less emotional one? Then, after thinking for a moment, she answered, "My parents never allowed me try any cookies, so I don't know. I'd love to try some though." Grinning, she thought to herself, I've been breaking a lot of their rules since I've come here.

"I'm glad to be here as well." Sulmanon replied, taking a small step back when the ghoul started fiddling with her bag. Seeing her take out a box with, what she assumed to be, cookies, Sulmanon was surprised at how many different types of them there were. Many of them had toppings she did not know the name of, since her parents had limited her diet to very little but meat.

"Why thank you!" Sulmanon responded, excited to try her first cookie. Even though the other ghoul had said she could try them all, Sulmanon did not want to be rude, so she took two of the nicest looking ones and took a small bite out of it. As soon as she did so, the slightly bitter and, yet, all together delicious taste of dark chocolate filled her mouth and her expression changed from that of an inquisitive young dragon about to try something new to that of someone completely enjoying the taste of something delicious. Wanting to savor the flavor and make it last longer, Sulmanon slowly nibbled at the cookie while complementing the cook.

"This cookie is absolutely delicious! You say you made them yourself?" She asked, her admiration clearly seen in her eyes. If only she could cook like this, but that was what Xiu was going to teach her, right?

Nodding in agreement Sulmanon said, "Good food is great at bonding anyone...who can eat..." That last bit had been tacked on belatedly as she remembered that some beings could not/did not eat. Quite frankly, Sulmanon felt sorry for them, they were missing out on so many interesting tastes.

When the other ghoul handed her the box of cookies, Sulmanon was startled. She could have all of them without being rude? Smiling and hugging the box close to her she thanked the other ghoul. "Thanks so much for these. If they're all as good as the one I've already eaten, then I'm going to enjoy them thoroughly!"

When the ghoul mentioned she was looking for a kitchen, Sulmanon remembered the one she had noted in the monster dorm while she had been exploring her new home. "Are you staying in the monster dorm? I saw that there was a communal kitchen on the ground floor."
