Welcome to Zombie Manor!
This roleplay is a fast paced hack-n-slash! Once the inital three players are aquired any additional players can join until the end of the Day 1 (7 days from the acceptance of the 3rd player). There will be a total limit of five players for this game, but games last from around a month and a half to three months, so a new one will begin soon, or a second thread can be made if there is enough intrest.
The Roleplay has offically begun, if you wish to join please PM ReservoirofMemory, and you will be added to the waiting list for the second round of this RP, if there are enough people signed up for a second round before this round finishes, a second thread will be made. Surviors are always welcome in sequels.
Basic Storyline One dark and stormy night as you were driving down along a country highway when glittering orange lights in the distance gave you pause to slow down and as you came closer you saw it was a police officer. Dressed all in a florecent yellow rain coat and holding an orange pair of signal batons, the officer came over to your window and rapped with his knuckles. Rolling the window down your side is almost immediately soaked by the rain despite the man's best efforts to sheild the open window with his body. "The road is closed up ahead! There're a pair of tankers that crashed and we're trying to clear the road now. Your best bet is to drive up just far enough to turn around. About a mile back on the left is a lane that turns off into an old inn, we should have this mess cleared by morning." With a nod you roll back up your window, a sigh and a soft curse escaping your lips as you pull up past the officer and use the whole road to turn around and head back down the other lane. You had been hoping to finish the journey tonight, but with the road impassable a night's stay in a local inn was better then sleeping in the car.
Pulling off the highway and turning down the lane was a tricky bussiness, the water pouring in sheets did nothing for the visibility on what was already a poorly lit gravel drive. Winding back and forth the road led up a slight rise before a crack of lightning illuminated a destination, a large manor house, that was easily two hundred years old dominated the landscape. A light was lit from what appeared to be an old stable built off to the side of the house, carved into the hillside, and a single car was parked inside. Heading around that way you pulled into the stable and found there was room enough for several more cars then the little old black car that was it's lone occupant. You grabbed your overnight bags from inside the car and prepared to make the mad dash out of the stable, around the bend and up to the house on the hill.
Once inside a little old lady greets you and offers your a room for the night, "For who would want to be out in such terrible weather! Not me nor any sensible person." She shows you to your room and hands you a key telling you that if you bring her your wet things she will hang them in the basement with the boiler to dry out, and that dinner will be served at nine.
The storm has knocked the power out in the area, but the Manor is mostly uneffected since it is gas heated, with gas stoves and has oil lighting in the hall ways for such an occurance. There is fresh running water and fresh food enough for a dozen people for about a week, the manor stands in a dead zone so cell phones will not function.
Current Day: DAY 1
Rules Magic Related: 1) No Big Magic. (Example: Jutsus, Elemental Sorcery, Teleportation, etc.) 2) No Mind Magic. (Example: Empaths, Telepaths, Psychics, ect.)
Copyright Related: 1) Please no RPing as any trademarked charcter. You may use one as an inspiration but make sure the final product is of your own creation.
Injury Related: 1) No "Instant Heals". Don't be afraid to get hurt, it adds flavor to the roleplay and even if you die you still have a roll to play in the story. 2) Those who are "infected" have until the turn of the next phase (Day 1 -> Night 1, Night 1 -> Day 2 etc..) before you are considered a zombie. The intevening time is filled with lethargy followed by fever and then delirium. 3) Once your character is 'turned' I will PM you and let you in on the adventures to come, and you will have an oppertunity to join the zombie's side and attempt to kill the rest of the players.
Attendance Related: 1) In game "Days" last a minimum of three days and then once 24 hours pass without anyone posting (or people opt to move on to night, a poll will be available, simply vote when you are ready for night) the phase will change to night. Nights last a minimum of 7 days and proceed to day once 24 hours passes without any posting (or people opt to move on to the next day, a poll will be avilable simply vote when you are ready for the next day). 2) If your character is left unprotected it is well within zombie rights to attack you. You will have 48 hours to respond to the attack before it is considered an auto hit an your character is infected. Those who know they are going to be away for a given amount of time would do well to either position themselves in a secure location or have another player protect them. 3) If you need to take a leave of absence, please inform me and I will post you on the absence list. If you wish your reason for lack of attendance will not be listed.

There are four floors to the Manor including the attic and basement.
The attic is one large open room full of sheet covered lumps.
The second floor is comprised of all bedrooms, each containing their own bathroom and widows' walk. The grand staircase leading up from the main floor dominates the center of the floor plan, with a railed hallway wrapping around. Starting at the north western corner and wrapping around there are four bedrooms [The owner's bedroon and then 1-3] and then a walk-in linnen closet, on the east side of the floor, and another four bedrooms continuing clockwise on the south side of the floor [4-7]. Finally on the west wall, sharing it's side with the owner's bedroom and room 7 is a stairway leading up to the attic.
The main floor is comprised of all the utility rooms. Upon entering the main floor there is a ballroom staircase in the center of the house and then turning to your left and proceeding clockwise, the first door on the west wall is a mens' smoking room, followed by a ladies' sitting room. In the north-west corner is the walk in pantry and stairs leading down into the basement. Proceeding along the north facing of the house is a billiard room and on it's right is the ballroom. In the north-east corner sits the kitchen and then headed down the east wall is the dinning room and in the south-east corner is a sitting room/library.
The basement is a single open room, with stone flooring and stone and mortar walls. Along the northering wall is an old tool bench with long disused gardening equipment and in the north-east corner is a wooden set of walls and door built later to house the boiler and a small work bench to maintain it. The south-east corner is occupied by an old work bench the remains of carpentry tools, stains, thinners, paints, an old reloading bench, and a large full standing tool bench. In the south-west corner is an old disused generator, with several tanks of gasoline one of which has a hole in it, but the gasoline has long since soaked into the stone floor from the slow leak. Sitting along the west wall headed back toward the stairs an old washer and drying, with an old-fashioned washing board on the far side.

.:':.Krysta Lavelle.:':. <Peak Fighting Condition> <Dormant: [Previously injured ankles] [Previously injured knees] [Previously injured right hip] [Previously injured left shoulder]> Krysta turned the collar of her jacket up and took a moment to gather her two bags before making a mad dash towards the old style inn. She had been on the way down to South Carolina but the storm had hit and there was an accident blocking the highway, the police at the barricade had recommended she double back and take a night at the inn here. She parked in the stable that had been converted into a garage and hurried up the hill to get into the house. "Hello?" she called once inside, she shook herself scattering water here and there and setting her bags down as she leaned over the desk to see if anyone was back there, a thin chain fell out of her shirt as she leaned, a pair of silver tags on the same chain as a tiny gold ring with a diamond set into the band, so smoothly inset there was no change in the surface of the band, something was scrawled on the inside but it was unreadable from a distance and she tucked them back inside her shirt as she let herself settle back on her feet to look around for a manager, "Hello!" she tried calling a little louder. An old woman tottered out of the back room, "I am sorry, sweetie, I was in the back room." She had snow white hair pulled back into a loose braid with strands flying around her face. She offered Krysta a clip board, "The officers up the road called and warned me they might be sending a few people trapped by the block this way..." She said with a small smile, "I managed to get a shipment of food in from the town an hour back so I will be ready if we have a full house."Krysta accepted the clipboard and with the ease of long practice skimmed over all the regulations and information, before signing and dating the paper. She handed it back and knelt to rummage in her backpack for her wallet before handing over the credit card in it to the woman to record and charge the information, "Three meal service... that isn't very common any more... What did you have on for tonight's dinner?" "Turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, gravy, salad and fresh bread." She replied happily."Sounds delightful, only I'm a vegetarian so I will pass on the turkey and the gravy..." Krysta said accepting the room key from the woman who pointed up the left stairs, "When is dinner so I can be back down in time?" "Whenever you are ready deary... unless anyone else comes to join us. Would be a pity if they didn't. I prepared quite a bit to eat..." She replied tucking the paper away."Well then I will see you in a half an hour or so." Krysta said with a mock solute before scooping up her bags and trotting up to her room to settle in, before changing for dinner. .:':.Backpack.:':. .:':.3 changes of clothes, camera, scented oils, incense, matches, oil burner, tea lights, pocket knife, wallet, water bottle, mixed nuts, fruit leathers, multivitamins, first aid kit, book, needle point, pen, paper, laptop, charger, cell phone charger, CD player, headset, CDs (Enya, JesusChrist Superstar, Shakira, and Mixed), clear nail polish, toothbrush, toothpaste, hair brush, hair ties.:':. .:':.Sparring Bag.:':. .:':.Bo staff, Sai, Trophies, Medals, Sparring Gear: Mouth guard, shin guards, foot guards, head gear, mits, forearm guards, chest protector, spare socks, body spray, deodorant, knife, whetstone.:':. .:':.Carried.:':. .:':., , water bottle, keys.:':. .:':.On Person.:':. .:':.Rain coat, cell phone, cash, watch, lighter, dog tags, promise ring.:':.

While David drove towards the hotel the police told him about, he couldn't help but wounder what had happened at the road block. "What if someone was injured back there, I could have help them." David said to him self. As David neared a the turn the Officer told him about, he saw a creep mansion. "I guess this is the place."
David saw two vehicles already parked. Well I'm glad to know I'm not the only one stranded out here on a night like this" David said, as he parked his rust grey Dodge truck. David grabbed his suit case from the passenger seat; then stepped into the rain. David rush to the hotels front door and took a deep breath before walking in.
David walked in drenched and dripping with water and looked around. He saw the two women at the front desk as he shivered. "Hello." David said waving his right hand with a smile.

.:':.Krysta Lavelle.:':. <Peak Fighting Condition> <Dormant: [Previously injured ankles] [Previously injured knees] [Previously injured right hip] [Previously injured left shoulder]> Krysta came down the stairs wearing a long skirt, deep burgundy in color, that hung down to her shins, the fabric swirling demurely; the top was a loose affair of silk, that was fitted at the cuffs, hips and turtleneck but swirled around her torso in whispers of black. Long auburn hair was pulled up and back in a neat bun that was held in place with a pair black wooden pins with tiny explosions of miniature chain from the end, ladened with crystals and tiny silver bells, that chimed softly as she walked. One hand on the rail as she descended the stairs, her heeled boots clicking on the old wooden stairs, catching sight of the young man who stood dripping by the door she turned back up the stairs rising up on to her toes to run in her heels, "I'll be right back! Wait there!" She dashed back up the stairs and to her room to grab some towels from the bathroom, before trotting back down the stairs and offering them to him, "Looks like it's gotten even worse then when I got here." Krysta said her tone sympathetic. .:':.Carried.:':. .:':.Two towels.:':. .:':.On Person.:':. .:':.Cell phone, cash, watch, lighter, dog tags, promise ring.:':.

"Thank you." David said, then started to Dry off his head. As David removed the towel from is face he actually got a better glimpse of the woman who was so kind to bring him a towel in the first place. "Yeah she picked up a lot more on my way here from that wreck." David said looking around as his blue eyes flickered from the lights. "The officers told me to come here for the time being. They said it might be awhile for them to clean up and make sure everything's alright."
David Placed the wet towel on his suit case for the time being and walked over to the lady by the counter. "Names David Case, you two wouldn't know what happened would you?" He asked as he reached for his wallet in his right pocket.

(It's okay honey, I can get it. You might consider tossing your posts in a Word Processor for a second before you post them, there are little punctuation and capitalization errors here and there, distracting but little more, and Word could clear that up in a second.) "No idea deary, accidents are want to happen in his weather." She accepted the card and pulled out a little slip of copy paper, filling it out with the card information and the amount for the stay before passing it over the counter with a pen to have the young man sign, "If I could have you sign here, my dear..." She offered and then accepted the paper back once it was signed, tearing off her copy and offering him the second copy. Tucking away the receipt she smiled up at him, "Dinner will be served at seven deary, now I'd better get back to it to have it ready in time."

(Sadly I forgot all about Word... to think I've been typing a story on there sweatdrop )
“Thank you Ma’am.” David said as he put his wallet back in his pocket, smiling. David turned, and looked at the women who brought him the towel. “So you wouldn't happen to know what happened at the wreck; would you?” David questioned her, as he walked over to his suitcase picking it up.
He then turned and gazed into her eyes as he raised a brow and smirked. “I mean I would like to know is it was really that bad I had to waste a day on seeing my family.” He said, just a little frustrated.

.:':.Krysta Lavelle.:':. <Peak Fighting Condition> <Dormant: [Previously injured ankles] [Previously injured knees] [Previously injured right hip] [Previously injured left shoulder]> Krysta gave an eloquent shrug, "I was turned back and probably got as little information as you did other then there was a wreck and the road is closed." She gathered up the sopping towels from where he had rested them on his suitcase, she could hang them up in her bathroom to let they dry, the mansion was afterall suprisingly warm for it's age and presumed lack of renovation. She held the wet cloths away from her body to keep them from soaking through to her clothes, "I know it's a bit of an inconvience, I am going to have to drive all night tomorrow night to make it to my destination on time, but since we can't rush what we can't control we might as well enough the down time... Don't ya think?" Krysta asked with a small half smile, as she turned to head up the stairs assuming he would follow since all the bedrooms from what she had seen were on the second floor. .:':.Carried.:':. .:':.Two towels.:':. .:':.On Person.:':. .:':.Cell phone, cash, watch, lighter, dog tags, promise ring.:':.

“You make a valid point. I wonder what there is to do around here, while we wait for dinner.” David said as he started to walk up the steps with the young women. “Names David Case by the way. Do you mind if I ask yours?” He asked politely, with a smile. David checked his surrounding making sure everything was safe on his parts, and then looked back at the woman waiting for her response.

.:':.Krysta Lavelle.:':. <Peak Fighting Condition> <Dormant: [Previously injured ankles] [Previously injured knees] [Previously injured right hip] [Previously injured left shoulder]> Krysta pulled the necklace from around her neck, two dog tags dangling on it as she pulled loose the room key she had adjoined to the chain as well to unlock her door. Opening the door she motioned that he might enter as well as she dropped the chain back beneath her blouse, "Go ahead and come on it, I am just going to hang these things up so they can drip dry, not on the antique hardwood floors..." A pale blue duffel bag lay beside the bed, zipped and sealed with a tiny lock, that would be easy enough to break if one thought it was worth the effort, leaning against it was a large black backpack, with it's zipper undone a few inches and a pair of green, loose, cotton pajamas, long-sleeved top and pants laid out on the neatly made bed. Emerging from the bathroom with her sleeve slightly damp but none the worse for wear Krysta extended her hand, "Krysta Levelle," she introduced herself confidently, meeting his eyes and offering a firm handshake, but nothing aggressive in the greeting, simply self assured. .:':.Carried.:':. .:':.Two towels.:':. .:':.On Person.:':. .:':.Cell phone, cash, watch, lighter, dog tags, promise ring.:':.

“Nice to meet you Krysta. Thanks for everything so far.” David said, as he walked in and shook her hand smiling. David caught himself in a trance looking in Krysta’s eyes, then looked away quickly. David put his hands in his pockets and began looking around the room as he stood still. “These rooms are pretty nice looking.” David said, cheerfully. David then pulled out his phone, realizing there was no signal in the area. “Well Damn I guess that’s out of the question.” He said disappointed.
David placed his phone back in his pocket, and looked back at Krysta.

.:':.Osborn Killam.:':. <100%> { No injuries currently sustained } It was starting to feel more and more as if forces beyond his control were punishing Osborn for his decision to attend the family reunion. First he had to change a tire when he drove over some sharp glass left in the road. Then it started to storm so fiercely that he could barely see inches in front of him; so what a perfect time for his window-wipers to break too, forcing him to stop by the next garage and get it fixed. Now he was very behind on his trip, likely to arrive at his hotel by 5:00 am if he continued to drive.
Except that was unlikely to happen as well. As he drove on, hands tightly gripping at the wheel in frustration he spotted up ahead officers and wooden blockades. At this point he was quite tempted to turn around and just drive on back home, but he had promised his parents he would come so he instead he slowed down and stopped, rolling down his windows to hear the details and time it would take to fix this mess. Like many drivers heading along this road, he received the same spiel of how it would take most of the night to fix the problem and that he could stay at an inn he passed by down the road.
With little else to do now and not planning to sleep in his car Osborn did as the officer suggested and turned around, driving back the way he came until he arrived before the manor-now-turned-inn. He parked in the stables now labeled "car garage" and stepped out of his vehicle, gathering his belongings before taking a moment to prepare. Osborn hoped he could wait out the rain so that it was drizzling when he decided to go inside, but it was apparent than the weather was not going to lighten up and so he did his best to run inside. Alas though with a heavy suitcase to lug about, he was slowed down a great deal and arrived inside soaking wet.
"God, let there be some rooms left over..." Osborn grumbled, fearing that with the way his day was going, the inn was going to be full and would force him to sleep in his car. But attempting to stay hopeful, he walked to the front desk and looked around. "Hello?!" he called. .:':.Suitcase.:':. .:':. 6 days worth of clothing, his laptop and necessary additions (plug, mouse, small keyboard), several USB keys (each labelled in a code consisting of numbers and letters), a very thick notebook with tons of chicken-scratch on it, pencil case (filled with many pens, pencils, erasers and sharpeners), bathroom utilities (tooth and hair brush, toothpaste, floss, retainer, shampoo, razor and shaving cream), cell-phone, music player, sun-screen, hand-cream, junk food (chips, chocolate and candy), water bottle, 14 books, switch-blade, Hand-gun /w ammo .:':. .:':.Carried.:':. .:':.Suitcase.:':. .:':.On Person.:':. .:':.Cell-phone, wallet.:':.

Louise saw the young man come in and then heard the young miss in her heels coming down the stairs, "Miss Lavelle would you be so kind as to get some more towels they are in the closet at the top of the stairs, on your left. And she turned back to her guest tutting away, "Come on over here and we will get you signed in, and from there you can take a hot shower before dinner, to take the chill out of your bones." She ushered him over to the counter and got him checked in before handing him a key to his room, "Your room is the first one at the top of the stairs, dearie, now go ahead and get yourself settled, dinner will be ready in about a half hour."
