Riyo couldn't say she was entirely pleased with the whole scenario, but there wasn't anything that could be done. She had very few articles of clothing that didn't have a hefty cleaning bill, and while she adored them, they just weren't suitable for the current situation. Worse yet, they were getting a little... Smelly.

So, with her freshest robes adorned, the ghoul reluctantly made her way over to the other bakeneko's dorm. It was strange. Riyo never thought she'd be darkening this doorway again. Yet, here she was. The feline lifted up her hand and gave the door a soft rap, eyes trained to the floor as if it would do a trick. Even if the boil did owe her, there was still something shameful about letting another person buy the items that you wore every day. Hopefully it would be a quick and painless procedure. "It's me." Her voice was low, and a little sullen. It wasn't hard to assume that she probably didn't want to be there.

Deacon was only a few moments to answer the door, apparently all ready to go, since he immediately stepped out into the hallway. "Ready? Where did you want to go?" He absently checked his pockets as he started slowly away from his door, being sure he hadn't been stupid enough to forget his wallet and assuming she was all good to fall in step with him.

Riyo couldn't say she expected that quick of a reaction. Then again, she had waited here a few times with no answer whatsoever.

"Yeah, I guess." Ready as she'd ever be. Hell, she almost wanted to call it off here and now, but the idea of either constantly smelling like an unwashed heathen or tearing up her beautiful clothes in a washer and dryer just didn't fly.

"I um.." Her fingers tapped together as she followed behind him. "I don't... Really know any clothing stores around here. I used to get all my stuff custom tailored." She admitted, glancing away. "Just somewhere cheap. It doesn't matter."

Deacon peered back at her, frowning slightly. "I'm not taking you to someplace cheap. Sure, stuff that isn't custom is going to be a lot less, but that doesn't mean you've gotta wear tacky clothes. Tried it last year, remember? I didn't look too great in that stuff, but I didn't have much choice in waiting. In this situation, you don't have to worry about the bill."

He seemed oddly chipper for the situation, really.

"I can't stop you from asking for cheap stuff, but just be aware that you don't have to."

"Just because it's cheap doesn't mean it's tacky." The feline mumbled and shoved her hands in her pockets. "You just have a shitty sense of fashion." Honest as ever. That was Riyo for you.

She held her tongue as they walked down the stairs and towards the dorm exit. "Well, oh mighty clothing guru, take me somewhere and I'll pick something out." That was all she knew to do at this point. Riyo had mildly considered recommending they go to the Bad Will, but she could never get past the idea of wearing someone else's unwanted articles of clothing. Moreover, they always smelled funny...

"And no funny business." If they somehow magically ended up at a lingerie store, she would throw up her hands and leave.

"Well, in the end it's up to you." Deacon replied, not seeking an argument out of it. He snorted at her following statement, though. "Yeah, probably."

While Deacon understood how awkward it must be to accept handouts, the tabby wasn't entirely convinced that the sour attitude was something he completely deserved today. He sighed, offering an indifferent sound and a shrug.

Even before he responded, she was ready to scold him. He laughed, but tried to keep that short. "Whoa! You're already ready to yell at me. I was just going to take you to the maul and let you pick the shops and the clothes. Pretty harmless that way, I'd think."

No, he hadn't deserved it, and perhaps Riyo felt the slightest bit bad at her already terrible attitude. Most likely a mixture of both the fact that the situation wasn't desirable to begin with, and, well... She was still trying to figure out how she wanted to treat Deacon after everything.

Yeah, he was helping her out right now, but was that enough? His money came from his parents, didn't it? He could probably piss it away and be no more in the hole than he had been the day before.

Riyo might've been a little jealous at this point. He had a home to retreat to, a family to love him, and a bottomless pit of money available at his convenience. Sometimes, she hated him for it. He had... Everything.

"That's fine." She tried to hold back her hateful tone, the feline's own thoughts ruining any chance she had at a good mood. It must've been a satisfying feeling to show pity to her, after all the s**t she'd put him through.

The feline silently seethed as she walked, flipping her hood up and walking with a slouch. No reason to stand tall today.

It wasn't too long of a walk, but the time seemed to drag without conversation. At least the weather was pleasantly cool. Deacon was quite aware of Riyo's mood, so he was merciful enough to walk with her in silence. He made an effort to walk alongside her, rather than literally leading her along to their destination.

The silence did bother him, but Deacon certainly hoped that sooner or later today the ghoul would have slightly higher spirits. He didn't mind if that was because of clothes or shoes.

Once they arrived at the maul, Deacon was polite enough to open a door for her. He didn't seem to be acting spiteful or sarcastic about his actions. Maybe he really did want to prove respect, instead of simply throwing money at her and hope it worked.

And Riyo seethed. She seethed and seethed until the feline didn't know what to do with herself. Deacon had found a way to gain the upper hand and that was goating her into asking for something and now he could show her how much better off he was comparatively and none of this was really for her benefit but to make her regret being so angry at him for leaving.

That's why this was happening.

Not because Deacon was genuinely sorry and actually wanted to help or anything.

Oh, and now he was holding the door open for her as if she was supposed to be grateful or something. Her tail darted back and fourth in annoyance as she marched herself through the entrance. Maybe she should just... Pick a store without even paying attention. She'd be critical about everything anyways, right? Her head lowered and hood up, she just walked into the first entrance her sight managed to catch.

Which just so happened to be the local unmentionables store.

He was kinda used to her being pissed off at him, so the fact she stormed into the building didn't really make him lose a step. He was only a couple of steps behind her when she picked a store - but wait why did this feel wrong?

Deacon nearly tripped over his own feet as he halted right at the threshold of the store Riyo had just strolled into. Like a demon who'd burst into flame by walking into a church, the bakeneko took a couple of rushed steps back to put space between himself and the forbidden land.

"I'm just going to wait here, okay? Okay."

If she actually wanted to buy something, he'd give her cash... This establishment did not need to be on the credit statement.

Riyo's feet had halted when she heard he was 'just going to stay there', but by that time she had already made it half way into the store. The demoness finally raised her head up to observe her surroundings. Pink... Lacy... Revealing... Oh... Oh Jack.

Oh Jack what had she done. Her face contorted into a look of horror as Riyo realized what she had just walked into.

Nope.

"Hello miss, may I help you?" the friendly store clerk asked and put a hand on her shoulder.

And Riyo darted out... And into Deacon. "NOPE. WRONG STORE." Her face was burning red as she patted his shoulders and darted past the boil, her hood falling off in the process. Shears. Shears would be safe. They could go to Shears and shop around. Yep. "letsgotoshearsok?"

Had Deacon not been so horrified that Riyo was going to somehow blame him for what had just happened, he might have found the situation kinda funny.

Instead, he managed only to stumble as she retreated as quickly as she'd gone in, casually put an arm around her shoulders and steered her in a direction away from the lingerie store.

He had no idea where Shears was, but it was in a direction away from here and that he could work with.

Riyo's cheeks remained flushed until they eventually reached their destination. Luckily for Deacon, the feline declined to comment on that little slip up, even to blame him.

Yes, Shears. Looked like a run of the mill department store with no surprises, just a couple odds and ends to entertain window shoppers. She could deal with this... Even if she did still feel inadequate over being bought clothes.

Twiddling her fingers nervously, Riyo looked around until she spotted the ghouls clothing. This was weird. She had no idea what she was looking for and, to top it off, there was a certain boil hovering around her.

After haphazardly searching through a couple racks, the ghoul glanced over at Deacon.

"I uh... I don't know what to get..."

Deacon thought this would be easy enough. Ghouls liked to shop for clothes, right? They'd just walk in, Riyo would see some things that she liked, maybe try some stuff on and they'd be able to go on their merry way with her selections.

Yeah, he was really hoping.

They were both destined for disappointment, from the look of it.

"What do you mean?" Deacon asked dumbly, gesturing to the racks. "There's hundreds of things here, and you've looked at about ten of them. If you don't see anything you like, we can go somewhere else."

He may or may not have been a smartass when he added; "Pick something red."

Of course Deacon wouldn't understand. Of course he'd say something thoughtless. "It's not that simple!" It seemed he was too stupid to understand through words. Making a face at him, Riyo looked around and started sifting through a section of shirts before finally pulling something red off the rack with a loud 'clink'.

The shirt had white lettering that said 'hot stuf', and for some reason, they hadn't even spelled stuff right. "Okay. This is red. How about it? Because it's red, it automatically suits me, right?"
