With the school year beginning once again, Camilla thought it would be good to make more friends. She would have easily joined a club for cars, but since most high schoolers didn't even have a car, there was none. Even if there was one, the lack of cars wouldn't make the club very interesting.
She did end up bringing herself to look into one club: sewing. Camilla liked dressing up, but as the years passed, she started to hate more and more of what was 'in'. Basically, Camilla wanted to start making her own outfits and she thought this was the perfect place to start.
Camilla had taken one of the fliers that were handed out earlier in the day, and went to the classroom after school to take a peek. She really hoped that she'd learn something from them, but at the same time she had never done anything like that. All she could do was hope that something good would come out of this.
Once she reached the classroom door, she knocked on the door and then looked inside. "Hello...?"

Sewing came naturally to Delilah. She had been doing it now for years since she realized that if she wanted to see her designs come to life, she would have to make them as her parents made it pretty clear they would not pay a seamstress to make them all each time she had a new idea. However, the would pay to teach her the basics once.
Since then she had grabbed every chance she could to get to work on her skills. She had mastered making tops and skirts. Some dresses she could do as well but the more complicated items (or harder material) still fought her.
So as she sat in the classroom where the sewing club was going to meet and waited for the rest of them, she hoped someone might be able to give her advice in how to tackle denim.
Hello...?
Delilah's ears picked up and her head turned towards the door. "Hello? Can I help you?" An award winning smile came across the raven haired woman's face as she stood from the desk. "Looking for the sewing club? You have found it. Or at least where everyone is meeting today."

Camilla at that point wanted to run the other direction, but she knew she wanted to do this. She opened the door fully and stepped through. "Hi... I'm really glad I found the right place."
She had this issue of not liking to be wrong. Her memory wasn't greatest, and well, Camilla was always afraid of making a mistake and looking stupid. Though she did have to admit, she did gain a lot of confidence as she grew as a member of the DMC. She couldn't tell that to most people though.
"I'm Camilla Doily," she said as she held out her hand with a smile. "I'm a third year here. I'm interested in learning how to sew, but I have no experience at all." Camilla laughed just slightly, kind of sad she had to admit that.

At first Delilah would have placed money on the fact the girl was in the wrong place. She didn't strike the raven haired one as the typical fit for an activity such as sewing but that was the nice thing about the area. There was no typical look for a woman or even man who could sew. The idea it was for old ladies in rockers was a myth, one that annoyed Delilah to no ends.
"Welcome Camilla." Delilah had kept her smile even while sizing the woman up. Extending her hand as an offer, she shook and released. Her father had raised her with knowledge of a business hand shake: firm and quick. If she was going to follow him into the business world, she need to perfect it. That was 'if'.
Sadly it was next to impossible for Delilah not to chuckle at the blunt admission of Camilla's skill. "There really is no need to worry. Several members did not know how to thread a needle before coming here but those of us who are 'senior' members are willing to teach." Delilah pointed to several baskets in the back of the class room. Some items such as scraps to practice on are provided. But real materials to make anything you will need to purchase. I hope that is alright."
Walking to the back, she picked up on and moved things around in it. Scraps of sizes and colors. A few needles. Plain thread. And a tomato.
"But if you don't mind me asking," Delilah looked back up and towards the girl. She was doing her best to give off a warm and friendly aura. "What brings you to the club then?"

"Thank you so much, Miss." Camilla had that habit because of her parents; whenever she didn't know the name of someone, it was always mister or miss until she was corrected. Some people would think that once kids reached a certain age they'd grow out of their manners, but nope, not Camilla.
Camilla looked over at their supplies. She didn't mind bringing more stuff from home if they needed it; most of the money she was given as an allowance she had been saving up for a car. Well, she wouldn't hit that any time soon. If she stayed, she'd help out the club more.
Plus, her parents would probably encourage her since she was doing something more 'feminine'.
"Well, I'm not fond of a lot of clothes." That was an understatement. A lot of her clothes were very plain or very worn from having worn it for a long time. She hadn't grown in height for the last couple years, and well, because of that she didn't really need new clothes. "I was hoping to learn how to sew and well, make my own?"
"I'm not a designer or anything... I just thought it would be fun."
"And expand the clothing I wear..."

When Camilla called her 'Miss', Delilah felt herself jerk for a second and look over out of the corner of her eye. Had she forgotten to introduce herself? Silly girl. Her father would have been glaring at her from across the room if she did that to someone important. And as he put it 'everyone at Crystal was important'. "My apologize, I'm Delilah White."
Still, the raven haired girl was smiling as Camilla spoke of her own desires. This girl reminded her of herself years ago when she first learned the craft. My how far she had come.
"Well, then you have come to the right place." There was a soft chuckle in her voice as she listened to the girl. "Now mind you, I am going to warn you that you won't be making anything wearable for some time now. Not without the help of one of us." Delilah motioned towards the door where several other girls appeared to be sneaking in. Each giving the talking woman a nod. "But we will be able to cover the basics and by the end of the semester, you might surprise yourself. It really is about what you put into it."
Reaching into the basket, Delilah pulled out a plain black thread spool and a set of needles. "Now, let's see if you can thread a needle?" It wasn't meant to sound insulting but let's be honest, may people couldn't even do that.

"No need to apologize. It's very nice to meet you, Delilah. I'm happy to be in this club's tutelage," Camilla said with a smile. It sounded a bit fancy, but she was genuinely happy to make friends and learn something new from them.
She was in no rush to make clothes. "Will we be making other things as well? Maybe like stuffed animals or something?" She definitely didn't know what classified as 'easy' and 'hard', but when Delilah gave her the first assignment, that had to be easy, right?" Camilla sat down besides Delilah and looked at her first assignment. "Okay... That should be simple enough."
Looking carefully, the thread seemed to be cut so the edges were not frayed. "That will help..." She then picked up the needle and tried to put the thread through the hole. Camilla knew the tiny size of the hole and kept trying to poke the thread through; she even tried and used a bit of her saliva to make a better point. After a few minutes, she let out a long breath.
Camilla had tried her best, but failed miserably. "I know this is supposed to be easy enough, but isn't there like a tool of some sort for this?" She tried again to thread the needle. Was she just not patient enough for this?
