Two. She had awakened two…and hadn’t been attacked by any wraiths even once. How fantastic was that? She wanted to celebrate, she wanted…to just do something fun.
She wanted a date. Lesath pulled out her compact mirror and checked her reflection for a moment, fluffing her hair then spoke into it. “Remarque? You out tonight, honey? Wanna hang out? I have tons of things to tell you and I miss your pretty face.”
She hoped that he was out, if not, well. She always had her cell phone. It wouldn’t be too difficult to just slip somewhere and call him…after all. The night was her oyster, and she was built for everything. She was completely ready for anything.
The blonde stared at her compact for a long moment, face finally settling into a pout. “You’re taking too long, Remarque. I’m getting tired of waiting.”

Remarque was tired. He had a rough night, and while his instincts had told him to go home and go to bed, he was still in Mirrorspace (albeit half asleep on a makeshift table) when his compact went off. Reflexes slower than usual, instead of reaching for it, he wound up smacking it off the table and having to grope for it off the ground. "I'm here," he replied, finally holding it up. "I'm here. Miss you too. Where are you at? I'm in Mirrorspace, I can meet you just about anywhere," he said, already standing.
He had a lot to tell her, and his brain was mostly shot. Just seeing her face was a breath of fresh air; he just wanted to scoop her up and told her. Squeeze her and tell her how much he loved her. Just listen to her talk, just feel her lips on his. He knew he had things to tell her, but he couldn't even wrap his mind around them. He just wanted to be with her right now, hear what she had to say. "What have you been up to?"

“I have a lot to say. I’m over in the park. Hurry up. I’m lonely and getting kind of sleepy. We can cuddle if you want.”
Raven grinned at him in the compact and sat down on the ground, resting against a tree. “I’ll stay on the compact with you until you get here. I’m waiting so hurry on over.”
She wanted to make him happy, to show that she was still good with everything…and that she was even making an effort to help out now. Well. That and the fact she was getting herself a whole new mess of friends to hang out with, that was a good thing too.

“Sounds like a good plan to me," the male replied; he stepped through the mirror and out into the park. It didn't take him long to track her down, and when he did he breathed a sigh of relief just to see her again. Putting his compact away, he just embraced the girl, resting his head on her shoulder. "Sorry for keeping you waiting. Long night. You know, I can't think of a place I'd rather be than curled up in bed with you. But it's a nice night. Is that the flowers that smell good or is that just your hair?" He didn't care; whatever it was, it was refreshing. "—Anyway, sorry. You had things to say?"

She was pretty much glowing when he turned up, then snuggled into his embrace right away. “I think it’s both, maybe. Though, I did use a different shampoo on my hair, yeah.” Lesath kissed his cheek and sighed. “I would be happy curling up in bed with you too.” She laughed, nuzzling even closer. “But I don’t know. Yeah. I have things to say. Let me just tell you that the court has grown by two tonight, thanks to me. Two new senshi, pretty senshi too…not as pretty as me, mind you, but pretty none the less.”
The blonde shrugged. “The one is stunningly beautiful, but…we’re not going to talk about that. They don’t know their names or spheres or anything…but I’m sure they can find a cat somewhere. Heck, maybe they already did. I tell you, I already think I pressed and wasted all of my luck. I mean, I picked two random girls and they both ended up being senshi candidates? How crazy is that. And both on the same night too. It must have just been fate. And the fact that I needed some new people to hang out with, I think.”

"No one is as stunning as you," Remarque murmured into her ear; if he stayed like this he could have easily fallen asleep against her. "I'm proud of you. Two, in one night? If that doesn't warrant me taking you out to a fancy dinner, I don't know what does. Though I suppose you don't have to do anything to deserve being taken care of. I don't think I've told you how much I love you in a while, Raven. And I've been in Mirrorspsace a lot tonight, thinking."
He had a lot to think about, and not all of it was good. He didn't know how to feel about a lot of it, but with Raven, he couldn't just keep things from her. "The wraith problem might be taken care of. I don’t know for sure, but I went in with Leto earlier. Think we found the source of the problem. Big, nasty wraith. Made a mess of things. I took a beating. Thought I was going to die."
And he had. There had been a while there where he didn't think he was ever going to see her again.
"Some things happened. I suppose they're important Court things. But right now, I can't think about anyone but you." His grip tightened, and his mouth was dry. Emotion was a strange thing for Jett, and the only strong emotion he handled well was anger. He had tried to stomach this, tried to shove it away. But it was there, and strong. And he didn't want to let her go. Not now, not ever.

Lesath grinned at the compliment, and even went so far as giggling. A little. Oh she liked when he was like this. Complimenting her, telling her how much he loved her, telling her how he was in mirrorspace, fighting a wraith with Leto.
The smile fell from her face like a vase pushed over by an unruly child and she blinked. “Why…were you in mirrorspace with Leto? Couldn’t you have invited me?” It didn’t make much sense. Why Leto? She was an eternal too, wasn’t she? Lesath felt her temper rising. Wasn’t she as good as Leto? She looked at Remarque, waiting for an answer. Though, she was wondering if he could give her one that she wouldn’t blow up at him for. He knew how she felt about other girls of the court…and other girls not of the court.
“You almost died. With Leto. Why the ******** didn’t you ask me to come help you?” Oh there it was.

His lips pursed. He didn't want to be chewed out. He was still on edge, but tired. He was still worrying about her. "Because I was stupid," he replied; there wasn't even any sarcasm. "We just went to look around. I was just asking her about Ares, about Mirrorspace. She'd been around for longer than either of us and I thought she'd know more. She didn't. We got lost, we got into trouble. I'm sorry. When we were down there, it was just pure chaos. I wouldn't have called you in the moment I saw that wraith. It was bigger than my house. Teeth longer than my arm. It kicked the s**t out of us. If anything had happened to you, I don't know what I would have done. I'm sorry," he said again, though his stomach was already knotting again. He hadn't let her go, partly because he genuinely didn't want to—and partly because his body had locked up. It was a paralyzing thought—losing her.
The idea of her on the ground, glass impaling her. Bruised and bloody. Struggling for breath.
He shuddered and shook his head to clear the thought, but he never loosened his grip.

Lesath still watched. None of this was satisfying her. It was all just…upsetting her more. “Okay. So Leto is better than me, whatever. Huge Wraith. Whatever. It’s not like I haven’t been attacked by them before. What’s the difference. Maybe I could have helped you two out. Maybe I don’t like being out of the loop.”
She bit back whatever other things she wanted to say, drawing in a deep breath. She was riled up now, and she wanted out of this embrace. She wanted to go home, or just to go back in time ten minutes and stop herself from calling him. What a mess.
“And what makes you think that you and little miss Leto did anything to stop the wraiths. If it kicked the s**t out of you, how do you know you did anything to fix…anything?”

The knots had spread to an unsatisfying numbness. Most of him felt numb, now. Lesath felt warm against him, but all he could do was bring himself to lift his head from her shoulder and try to stand a bit taller. "Because Mirrorspace chewed us up and spat us out. Stronger."
It was hard for him to elaborate because he just didn't have the words for it. He didn't know how to describe it, didn't know what to call it. "Not unlike Ares," he finally decided. But even that seemed like a bad comparison. "And then we destroyed it. I don't know if it did anything," he said finally. "I thought it did. The wraiths I saw afterwards didn't seem aggressive. I don't know."

Finally Lesath pulled away to look at him better. “What do you mean chewed you up and spit you out stronger? Not unlike Ares?” Her eyes narrowed slightly. “I don’t understand what you’re saying, Remarque. Please elaborate.”
So they destroyed the wraith, and were now as strong as Ares? What, were they Princesses? Kings and queens?
Some part of Lesath felt hollow and she didn’t like the feeling one bit. To be truthful, she didn’t want to even be here right now. She wanted to go home, wanted to go to bed and just sleep this all off. Right this moment.

Words continued to elude him, and with Lesath drawing away, he had to force himself to stand upright and on his own. There was no joy on his face; very briefly he made himself aware of what auras were in the area before he gripped the crystal he had. It took a short moment of concentration before his energy signature flared, and his outfit changed.
There was no explaining it beyond just showing her. He kept a straight face, but he didn't have much of a mood right now. His stomach was in knots, and he found it very difficult to inhale. Remarque's eyes were on her, but he made no further movements nor attempts to speak.
What was there to say?

Lesath stared. There was nothing more to say to him. That did it. He had done something. He was stronger. Like Ares.
Like Ares.
Anger filled Lesath once again, and her eyes narrowed even farther. “******** you.” She shook her head, taking a step back from him. “******** you if you think you’re going to have me bow to you. Like hell if I’m going to follow you blindly like we were supposed to follow Ares. ******** you, Remarque. I’m done. This is it. I don’t give a damn. Goodbye.”
She was trembling, shaking all over. How could…How could he have done this? After all they had talked about Ares? All of her…her everything? Well. Hell. After all she had learned from Zee. She wasn’t going to be subservient to her fiancé, that was for sure. She didn’t want this. All joy that she had from earlier in the night was absolutely gone. To be quite frank, if she had known then what she knew now, she would have never done it in the first place. <******** this. ******** it all. There was no way she was going to stay when she would be forced to follow someone. She made the rules. She wasn’t a ******** sheep.
With that, she left, slipping into the nearest mirror and getting back to her house. Powering down when she was inside.
She looked at her henshin pen with disgust, then looked at the ring on her finger with an equal amount of disgust.
Finally, she shoved them both into the back of her sock drawer. She was so over all of this. So done.

Remarque stood for a long moment. Processing.
His feet were moving before his mind was; he stepped into the mirror after her.
Somewhere along the way he stopped channeling the power. He was only an eternal when he mirrorwalked from the park to the mirror in her bathroom. If she was upset, he didn't want to think about what she was doing to her mirrors. He powered down immediately, not wanting his aura to attract anyone.
He still didn't have words, but he still managed to make his way to Raven's door.
…She wouldn't want to talk. Not after she had left like that.
Why was he here?
…Because he still couldn't imagine life without her.
There was a moral dilemma as he stood there, hand clenched into a fist, ready to knock. Would she kick him out? Could he make her change her mind? Or was this just a plan, destined to fail. Did he let her cool down? Or did he let her wallow in her anger?
He was frozen for a few seconds, lost in thought, and then he settled for a third option. Withdrawing his phone from his pocket, he texted, 'I would have you bow to no one, Raven. I wouldn't do that to you. I just want to talk.'

She heard her phone go off, then glanced at it, giving a terribly bitter sounding laugh. Yeah. Right. Quickly, she texted back. ‘Leave me the ******** alone. I don’t want to talk. I don’t want to see you, I want nothing more to do with you. Don’t you dare ever contact me again.’
It was harsh. It was all so harsh. But. She had more important things to do right now. Standing up, Raven went to her desk, picking up one of her text books. She slammed the book against her dresser mirror, both wincing and being extremely comforted by the tinkling of the breaking glass. Now it was time for the bathroom, then the mirror in the hall…and possibly the two in her parent’s room…but Jett didn’t know about those. Maybe.
Maybe it was just better to be safe rather than sorry.
Still holding the book in her hand, she opened her bedroom door quickly, giving a yelp as it slammed into Jett. “What the ******** are you doing here? Get out of my house!” She was livid. How dare he? Ho ******** dare he?
