-Takes a deep breath as she goes through the steps to the song, hitting each note effortlessly. Her eyes were shut as she kept a perfect pose of her body, her tail curled around her. As she finished, she looked about, blushing softly even though no one was there to hear her.- Hmm... someday.. -She tilted her head to her make-shift stage and giggled a little at how rundown it looked. Shifting about, she tugged at some of the cloth to try to make it look tidier.-
Ulric Von Hunde Prinz had wandered long and far from his home kingdom. Feeling weary he approached a shop called The Lucky Noodle. He paused outside the door to look around for an inn or lodging house, when he heard the faint singing. It was sweet and clear and on a whim he pushed the door open and the sound swelled to meet him. That noodle had a set of lungs! He followed the sound through the place hed found and saw a makeshift stage of sorts set up. And then he saw the emination point of the beautiful haunting song. Captivated he sat, in a shadowy corner and listened. When she ended and turned to tug the cloth he realized she'd see him, so he did the only thing he could think to, he stepped into the light, and applauded
Hearing the applause, Malak blinked and turned to look over her shoulder. Her cheeks were flushing a bright color despite the fact that her ears pricked forward in excitement. "Ooo.. I'm sorry! I didn't see you there!" Still blushing, she turned to face her visitor and nodded politely. "Were you listening long?" Her head moved to one side to observe him. It wasn't that she was shy about her voice, but she hadn't exactly performed in many public places yet. She was still desperately learning her craft.
: A slow smile spread over Ulric's face she turned. He was paying close attention to everything, ears radar dishing around as he listened for any sounds that didn't belonged, nose sniffing for danger, and yet still attuned to the beautiful lady before him. " Moderately long Milady- I heard your song from the street, and I must confess that I followed the strains of your lovely voice in here. And I must say that it was my pleasure to do so. He winked dashingly at her and without missing a beat executed a shallow courtly bow " I am Ulric, and to whom do I have the honor of adressing?" His grey eyes twinkled as he watched for her reaction.
Sitting up in a straighter position, she smiled lightly and suddenly felt under educated in edicate. That wasn't exactly something her mother taught her, though she tried to fake that she knew something of it, which perhaps she had learned a little of it from her grandmother, but not enough it seemed. She realized she was chewing on her lip and immediately tried to stop, "Hello Ulric!" Was she suppose to call him Sir Ulric? "My name is Malak, Malak Isonoe Pardus." She gave a small curtsey and almost purred at his compliments. "Thank you. Though I was unaware you could hear me from the street! If I had known I probably wouldn't have sang so loud.." She began to blush again.
He noted her movements, and that like a rose she seemed to bloom under his attentions, though it was clear she was a little out of her element, yet executed a very lovely curtsey. He idly wondered if she'd noticed the crown yet, then winced as she did give her full name. HE debated quickly whether or not to give it, and decided that he would. Its not like she would know he should have a title or anything." You are most welcome, and on the contrary you should sing at the volume you are most comfortable. And alas, had you not been singing to where I could here you, I would not have had the pleasure of meeting you. And since you so kindly gave your whole name I feel it only fair I give mine," He sat back and assumed a regal bearing automatically, his tail curled about his paws and back straight nose slightly up. " I am Ulric Von Hunde Prinz. Though please, Ulric is fine Milady Pardus".
Malak couldn't help but blush again, this time her cheeks were much warmer as she accepted his compliments. "I have to admit... I feel completely out of my element.." She stated this with a smile at him. She glanced up at him, this time noticing the crown as he said his name. Her eyes widened slightly, but she tried to not let it show. Just by the statement of his whole name she could tell he was someone of much more importance than even her family, which was somewhat of a feat in the Shop. "Well, its certainly a pleasure, Ulric." Her smile didn't faulter for even a second. "And thank you, for all the compliments.. It isn't often I have an audience.. Though I would like that to change eventually." She added as her cheeks flushed again.
Ulrics smile widened as she flushed. He did so enjoy making a woman feel so happy. It was a bit of a gift if he did say so himself. Then he statled. " Out of your element? Why ever for? There is no reason to be my sweet Lady. And you are most welcome, for they are the truth. Your voice is a gift, and if you would be so kind I would love it if you would gift me with another....?"
Stammering a little, "Well... you see... my family isn't exactly the most cultured... Not that I mind it, I love my family deeply, and we even have a little bit of a reputation around here, some of it bad, but most good." She drew in a breath, trying to temper herself. "I just mean... I haven't exactly learned how to be elegant in manners.. at least, not to your degree." She added sheepishly. "So I apologize if I say something wrong." Upon hearing his request, she brightened considerably and nodded. "If you don't mind me not being as good as a professional, of course." Still, she grinned and shut her eyes as she began to pour out a soft melody.

She stammered and he resisted the urge to turn the charm on more to see if he could make her swoon. INstead he waited patiently for her song. this time rather than fading into the background he stayed out in the open, and made sure the lovely Malak knew that his attention was fully rivited on her, the sound of her voice, the posture of her body, and everything. He made it seem like she was his whole world. And perhaps, for the time being she was.
As she finished the song, her eyes flitted open and she peered at him. As he stood there, she felt her cheeks flush when she realized he hadn't taken his eyes off of her. "I uhh... hope it was to your approval.." Her voice cracked out of embarrassment and she glanced away. Why was he still looking at her? She really wasn't use to the attention, regardless of rather she liked it.. or loved it. She bit down on her lip before turning her eyes back to him. "The song.. I mean." She was prying her brain trying to think of what she was suppose to say, but she couldn't help the small flutter in her stomach.
He listened just as intently as he looked. And with his trained ear this girl wasn't just good, she was phenominal. And yet she didn't think she was a professional.......*His thoughts trailed off as he was transported by the song.*As she finished he didn't applaude but stood there letting the last notes wash over him. Once she opened her eyes he began to take stock of the signs of mild....well distress some would say, others would say interest. He couldn't help but chuckle as her voice cracked and he arched a brow at her words. He waited quietly for her to meet his gaze once more, and put the depth of emotion the song had conveyed to him there for her to see. And he spoke slowly, and decisiviely. " Wonderful Malak, Truly Wonderful."
"I umm... Thank you.." She said slowly, her cheeks still heavily flushed. "I guess... I just overthink things too much.." Her voice was soft, almost as if she were unsure of her own words. "I mean! Well.. someday, I'd like to be able to be known for my singing.. But... I'm just not so confident.. yet." She wouldn't let her eyes meet his at this point, too afraid of her own insecurities to want to know what his eyes actually said about her. So she just stood there, unsure if she should move or stay still, or hide.
He couldn't help but be amused by this lovely noodle, and terribly touched by her insecurities. He waited for her to be done speaking and took note of the fact that she wouldn't or couldn't meet his gaze. He assumed a more relaxed at ease posture and then spoke in a voice of command." Look at me Lady Malak."
She couldn't help but let out a small squeak at his request. Her eyes slowly shifted upwards and her face grew about three shades redder. "Umm... yes.. sorry.." Her voice was thin and anxious. When her eyes met his she almost looked away again, but tried to keep herself trained on him. "Did I do something wrong?"
He continued to appear relaxed and spoke slowly and decisively. " Not exactly dear Lady. But this ridiculous notion that you are lesser is absurd. Now tell me. If you could have one thing right now, as a reward for your singing, what would it be?"
Her lips pursed and she couldn't help but glance away again. "Its.. not that... I just.. I get worried that people won't like my singing. No one ever hears me sing but my family.. and sometimes... I think they just tell me its good because of that." A piece of hair falls in her face and she brushes it back. At his question she squeaks again, her cheeks flushing bright. "I... I dunno! Uhh.. that... ummm..." Studders over her words, completely embarrassed.
Slowly he advanced towards her as she spoke." Dear Lady you are babbling again, and it is adorable, but does not help fulfil my wish. I wish to know your desire of the moment. I begin to fear that I am causeing you too much distress, but unless I much miss my guess, you are enjoying my attentions and the affects of them. If it is your wish however I will go and be on my way." He paused for a moment and broke eye contact for a thoughtful moment. " Perhaps you don't understand. In Higher society when a gift is given, it is often proper to return one. And I wish to give you a gift to honor your beautiful song.
Her eyes didn't leave him as he neared her. She began chewing her lip again, her rosy cheeks making her feel vulnerable. "Well.. honestly.. we're not exactly in high society.." Her voice trailed off, her eyes looking straight at him, though they still held a softness. "But no.. you're right.. I do enjoy the attention.." A purr softly rumbled from her throat and she pulled her tail around herself. "I... don't exactly have many friends outside my family.." She cleared her throat, watching him quietly before speaking again, "I guess, if I could have one thing... it would be.. a friend. Someone who wouldn't leave... someone.. who would be there for me when I need it.. Someone outside my family who cares about me.." She blushed again, but this time her eyes stayed on him.

Stopping mid stride he looked at her as though seeing her for the first time. He was so stunned that he sat down, hard, and tilted his head to the left, looking at her in astonishment. " Dear lady, how is it that don't have bevies of men and women beating down the door to be your friend....." his voice lowered"....."Or possibly more? I simply do not understand this. However, I would be most honnored to be your friend, if that is your hearts desire, yet I do want you to understand that you could ask for much much more....." he trailed off again and looked deeply into her eyes, seeking her soul
"Possibly more?" She squeaked again, her cheeks flushing brightly. "I... Well.. I guess... I'm just.. not that popular?" She chewed her lip, turning her eyes to the ground. "I don't really... get out that much I guess.." She twisted a piece of her hair in a nervous gesture. Her eyes shot up at the last of his statement, her heart beating rapidly. "More... umm... I... right.. I... I'm... bad at picking out gifts I guess...?" She stammered, feeling her cheeks grow even brighter as he stared at her.
His heart went out to the gorgeous Noodle Lady speaking ot him. He stayed seated listening to her waiting as she trailed off. Then, Moving slowly and deliberately he stood and moved towards her, giving her time to back away or move. But as he reached her he brushed a stray strand of hair off her cheek. " Lady, oh my, just Lady. Do you have any idea how becomingly fetching you are, how you intrigue me!" He touched that flaming cheek and let his touch linger for a moment before stepping back to give her breathing room.
As he moved toward her, Malak went completely still. At the touch she furiously blushed again, looking away as if she couldn't keep her nervousness in check. She was chewing on her lip again, trying to not jump away and hide. She didn't want to hide, even though her legs were telling her to do so. His affections had her pinned where she was and she couldn't help but feel her stomach flutter. "I... do..?" She looked up again, a very light smile on her face. "I..." She tried to draw in a breath to steady herself. "I'm not sure how... I'm just me.." Her body was a little drawn in on herself, but she still didn't move or leave. She was obviously enjoying the attention even though she didn't know how to respond.
He sighed softly and a shudder ran through him as he took a step back. " Lady, you are beautiful, and so inspiring. I know I shouldn't be speaking to you like this as I have just met you, but I cannot help it. *he hung his head in shame* I am sorry, I do not wish to take advantage of you, but you draw me to you as a moth to a flame. *once more he sat back on his haunches, head still hanging down as he fought not to sweep her off her feet*
Malak's head twisted to the side, considering for a long moment. She watched him and she gave a small smile. "Perhaps... sometimes.. that's all it takes." She still wasn't entirely sure. He was interesting, and she definitely wanted to learn more about him.. but she was sure her mother would scream at her if she ever found out. "We could.. always.. spend some more time together, if you like?" She took a step closer, removing some of the distance between the two of them. "I mean.. I know.. I would like to get to know you better.." She felt her cheeks warm again at the confession.
He sat still as stone, waiting for her to make the next move, afraid of what he would do if he moved. He held his breath and waited. He heard her begin to speak but didn't look up. HIs ears swiviled of their own accord to follow her voice and the sound of her movements. Moving slowly so as not to startle her, his head raised and he stared at her in wonder once more. " Lady Malak, you have a heart of gold, and I am humbled to be in your presence, I too would love to get to know you better. But there are channels I must go through first,.....forgive me if this is a delicate subject, but do you have parents? If I am to court you I needs must garner their permission first.
At that she coughed. Hard. Then after the thought hit her she felt her stomach flutter at what he was insinuating. "You want to... date me..?" Her eyes blinked at him, still not entirely sure what to make of it. "Right umm.. my mothers... umm..." She was trying to stall for time, any sort of thought that she could derail so that he wouldn't actually meet them. She was coming up blank. "Well.. I..." Her mother would cook her for dinner. What was she going to do? "Perhaps... you should... meet my sister first.." Right... like Pandora was going to make things better either. Though she didn't think Pandora would set him on fire...
Yes Lady Malak, I am intrigued by you, and you do strange things to my thoughts. I do desire to as you would say in the vernacular "date" you. *He watched her blink at him and he smiled, joy lighting up his face that couldn't be dampened by her stalling* " While I am honored that you desire you to meet more of your family, for the pride and honnor I posses, I must meet your parents first. I should have witheld my words until I had spoken to them, and for this I must apologize."
"Right... of course... it couldn't be that easy.." Her eyes were staring at her feet now, her demeanor changing from nervous to vexed. "I... can't guarantee that my mother will be around... But.. my other mother should be..." A deep sigh came from her throat before she swallowed and looked up. "I should warn you though... She.. is very... confrontational... And she... likes to set things on fire..." Ah yes, that was the best way of explaining... of course.. She could smack her own head. Well.. if he was scared off.. at least he wouldn't have to meet her...
He began to pick up that she was getting upset and he looked at her worriedly waiting for her to explain. As she did his fear was allieviated and he began to smile. as she looked up, and that smile only grew wider as she talked about fire* Ah, and elementalist yes? She is of the heat and light and fire magic yes? Hot tempered, hot blooded and protective. ANd you are worth being protected, make no mistake. Well ,if I can only meet one of your mothers, then so be it.
"Right.. umm.." She looked back at him and paused for a brief moment, chewing her lip again. "Are you.. really sure you.. want to do this...?" She pushed some hair from her eyes. "I mean... we could just... get to know each other a little longer... before you go meet her..." She knew she was stalling, she knew he would know she was stalling... but she couldn't help it. She didn't really think her mother would take well to her youngest child coming to her with a potiential boyfriend, especially someone she didn't know very well.
