He wandered.
It was very nice here, at the very least. Very comfortable, in spite of the fact that there was not nearly enough water. Llyr meandered aimlessly around the edge of the school grounds, every once in a while reaching out a hand to touch something or brush his fingers across a plant here and there.
At the far end of the school he came across something highly unusual:
A creature.
Llyr stopped to study it.
It was a cute thing, and it looked soft. He knelt down and eyed it curiously, hands on his knees, his over-large white shirt draping almost down to his knees, his legs covered by some strange device that the guides had called leggings.
(He wasn't sure how he felt about them, to be quite honest, but the enrollment office had been very strict about the actual wearing clothes rule, so he had been sadly forced to obey.)
Llyr wondered what would happen if he touched the creature, but decided he maybe should wait a bit.Eight /terrible pun is terrible OHOHO

She had felt like taking advantage of the last bits of warm October sunlight before the wonderfully refreshing chill of the colder seasons took over. Normally she would have just stripped her clothes and laid down but when she tried that last time someone had complained that wasn't appropriate in a public setting. Fine. She'd just bathe in the warm light of the Pumpkin sun as a seal ha she'd show them! Try and hold her back. Fools. Foolish mortals! Ha. Sibyl had rolled onto her back and closed her eyes..and very quickly fallen asleep. At some point she did start giggling and wiggling without warning, rolling onto her belly and nearly hitting her audience with six feet of leopard seal. She snored.

It was moving.
Llyr watched with fascination as the creature wiggled, and he resisted the very strong urge to reach out and pick it up and just carry it off to let it live in his pool. But he did, at least, reach out and gently prod at it with long fingers, wondering if this would make it wake up and do something.
Maybe it did tricks.

When poked, Sibyl giggled and flapped her flippers. Her eyes opened, large and turquoise, and she stared at the pretty onlooker beside her. She blinked. She stared. She blinked again. And then suddenly she smiled, a huge toothy smile with large, shark teeth. "HELLO, FRIEND~!"

It had moved.
And then it had spoken, like that one creature had done too. Llyr stared at it with wondering eyes, pulling his robes a little tighter around him. He peered more closely at it, his long hair draping over his shoulder.
"Friend?" he repeated, as though the word were foreign to him.

"Yes! Friend! We're friends!" Sibyl announced cheerfully, flapping her flippers some more. "My name is Sibyl! What is your name, friend?"

There was a long pause in which he tried to figure this out.
"...Llyrendil," he said, after quite a bit of time had passed, and only after he had inched closer to her, peering curiously at the flippers. He lifted his hands and made a flapping gesture, subconsciously attempting to mimic the gesture.

Sibyl watched as her new friend Llyrendil mimicked her, giggling and flapping her flippers faster as if trying to fly. Yes, that would totally happen. She looked him up and down, humming thoughtfully. "Are you new around here, friend Lurnd...Lirendi..." Sibyl blinked. This was a lot of name to remember. He needed less name. "Dilly?"

He wasn't sure what "Dilly" meant, but it sounded fine to him. Llyrendil smiled, though it was unclear as to what exactly he was smiling about, exactly, and reached out a hand, patting one of her flippers curiously.
"New, yes," he said vaguely. "Very new and very...not-new."
