When things were going to s**t, and the future was unclear, keeping busy was essential. So that's what Peyton was doing, she was keeping busy, and that meant training, going out on patrols. Today it was going to be the latter, and she'd enlisted the help of someone she didn't know well yet, but had met a time or two. He'd helped Lucky when he'd fallen in the pool, and that had earned him a whole mess of brownie points with the dainty Sun. So she'd left messages for Shiloh to meet her out in front of the dorm, and that was where she was currently waiting. Her usual beanie hat had been exchanged for something with a bill, and she'd pulled the mess of blonde and pink curls up into a pony tail. She'd left off the baggy tee she usually wore, and was instead rocking a turquoise tank and cut off jeans. Socks and boots hadn't changed. Today it was grey knee highs with little peacock feathers. She was sitting on the steps, fingers spinning one of the gold bands on her her opposite thumb. It was beautiful out. Sunny and hot, and it felt wrong.

Shiloh appeared on the steps behind her, nudging her backside gently with the tip of his boot. “Ready?” he asked, beaming down at her with a grin. He was sporting a black and white trucker hat that shaded his eyes as this wasn’t the first day he’d spent in the sun, patrol or otherwise. Unlike a lot of the other island’s residents, he had welcomed the sun and heat, even going so far as to resent the fact that ocean swimming seemed out of the question. What was the point of having a beach if there was no swimming? Nonetheless, he was tan as it was, and wasn’t particularly craving a sunburn, and so he wore the hat.

They could be tanned and pink haired together. His voice had her tipping her head back, and she grinned up at him before bouncing to her feet and turning on her heel to face him. "Yep. It's about time I see more of this island then the training field and the light house." God, had she really not thought to get out and look around before this? Granted, she'd been busy, but she was usually a little more inquisitive then that. She'd taken her role as Sun Hunter very seriously, and her days had been, for the most part, filled with any combination of training. Not to mention the cardio she included 3 times a week. It hadn't left much room for exploration, but with the sun, and the lull in usual duties, she finally had the time. "Nice hat."

“Thank-you, I like yours too. Seems apt for the weather today, anyway,” he answered, grinning at her from beneath the brim of his hat. He gave the woman a slight nod as she stood and a sweeping gesture with his arm, as he stood back to let her fall in beside him. “After you, Miss… Peyton, right?”

His arm sweep earned him a grin, and she fell into place beside him as they began walking. "Yep, Peyton. And you're the nice guy that gave mouth to mouth to my neighbor after he fell in the pool. It's nice to finally meet you properly." "So have you been through where we're patrolling?" She was actually pretty excited to see more of the island.

He laughed, settling into his stride beside her. “Yeah,” he answered her statement, thought it wasn’t a question. “Thank god there haven’t been any pool related incidents since. But it’s nice to meet you too, Peyton. I’m Shiloh.” He scanned the horizon in front of them, he was as eager as she was to explore more of the island. He’d become painfully aware of how little he knew when he’d gotten lost trying to navigate even the beaches, so he was excited to have the chance to learn something, and to have someone with him in case it happened again. “Uh, I think we’re on the Eastern shore duty today, but I imagine that covers from here to there and everything in between,” he said, pulling his phone from his pocket to verify. “Have you been here long? On Deus, I mean.”
