Ladon had been in the wrong place at the wrong time and when he ran around the corner in front of the police car he'd found himself back at the had been unfortunate to end up taken to the Downtown Police Department. It was there that the mistake had been recognized and where Officer Walter thought it would only be right to drive the young man back home. It was their error so she was more than willing to fix it since she was leaving for the day anyway.
"Good thing you don't have to ride in the back of the police car again," she joked with a smile. Her car was much nicer than a police car and he wasn't required to ride in the back.

He had been a nervous wreak the entire time he was at the station. What would happen to him? Would they keep him here? Would this go on his record? What if they asked about his parents? Sure, he was of age to live alone, but what if they wanted to talk to his mother? Would he have to pay bail if they kept him or charged him with....being around hookers? Billy would have a fit! They didn't have that sorta cash to just throw at bail bonds, but having to tell Billy he was around hookers? He might think the wrong thing or worse - laugh!
It was with great relief that the confusion was cleared up. It was clear after a while that he in no way was in the sex industry when the first line of questioning had left him so beat red that he felt faint. Probably due to feeling bad for making him nearly pass out from embarrassment, they set him back in the waiting room where he tried not to make eye contract with the few people in cuffs, and was then introduced to Officer Walter. It was late now, and Ladon had wished he could just walk out and teleport home, but he was offered a ride instead.
Sitting in the passenger's side, he felt small in the official space of the police car's interior. There was a buzz of feedback from the radio every so often, and while he wasn't riding in the back, he felt he was somehow guilty and would be viewed as a criminal just by being in the car.
"Yes, madam." He said, glad he wasn't in the back again like some drug dealer or gangster. "I'm sorry, madam. You don't have to drive me all the way there, madam." Wait, would she think he was avoiding home. "I mean, you're busy and probably have important people to put in jail." He quickly corrected. It didn't help she was an officer and a woman.

If Officer Walter only knew that this young man was actually a General for the terrorist group called the Negaverse. Things would have been a hell of a lot different than they were now, that's for sure. Not that it would be very easy to capture one given their great asset of teleportation. Thankfully, this was going to be a very peaceful ride for the both of them.
It was easy to judge someone when they were forced into an enclosed space. How people reacted to simple things simply said a lot about it. Watching how Ladon acting here, she could easily see why they originally thought Ladon here was part of the group, given how awkward and uneasy he was simply with a drive home.
"I'm off duty now so don't worry about it. The city is a dangerous place and I can't in good sense simply let you walk home at this time of the night for our misunderstanding." She said it in a soft but firm tone, definitely the good cop out of any good cop/bad cop scenario plays.

He continued to fidget, feeling as if he would be sent back to jail for saying the wrong thing. As a Nega General, his disguise kept him safe. As Ladon, he didn't have any way to protect himself and his appearance, his identity, was there for all to see.
The mention of walking at night made him remember that he, as far as anyone knew, was just a teenager. Someone nearing his twenties but not really looking his age. He was young by some people's standards. Most probably. It wasn't safe for normal people to be on the street at any time, and he wondered how much the police had to clean up after them.
"Oh, right. What with all the crazy things happening. You guys must get a lot of people getting hurt or something at night." He wondered if the police officer had ever picked up one of the bodies that were drained of energy, just exhausted but not harmed. Or, just maybe, one of the bodies of the ones he had killed, one of the senshi or even a normal person from back when taking energy meant taking a starseed. Did this officer clean up the messes he made?

Officer Walter definitely was picking up some of the discomfort that Ladon was feeling but it kind of came with the job. Being driven home by a cop, whether off duty or not, was probably not at the top of any list for a young man or anyone for that matter. However, in her mindset it was a lot better to be emotionally or mentally drained a little bit embarrassed rather than dead.
Yes Ladon, Officer Walter had been the first on the scene to several of your victims and she'd never forget them. They were young, just like Ladon, and that was one more reason for him to just be thankful he didn't have to walk home. Her smile was weak but it evened back out. There was only so pleasant it would get when the topic was leaning toward the chaos that owned the city and the causalities within it but Officer Walter was a little overzealous so it couldn't be helped.
"You wouldn't imagine. I would just feel a lot better to drive you back than to be the first on the scene to your body later." Needless to say, she imagined he preferred it that way too. If only she knew he was more likely to be putting those bodies there than being part of the body count but if that was the case they'd end up going in a whole other direction.

His nervousness settled down to a sad guilt. He was making work for these people who had other things to do. How long had they been going at it and what did they think about the senshi and negaverse? He wished he could tell the cops they were on their side, but the risk was too great. They wouldn't understand.
Hands in his lap, he wrung his hands together. "So you must have a lot of people out busy with that...right? Do you know what's going on?" He asked, hoping to come off as more of a curious citizen that read the news than a Nega who wanted to see what the cops might know.

Ladon looked like a mess as he wrung his hands together. Was he still shaken up over this whole event? Nicole was happy that soon he would be back home and finally be able to relax within his natural environment.
"Of course," she said in a manner that didn't really give away classified information. She definitely didn't want to admit to a civilian that as a police officer she, and the others, did not know what was going on within the city. Part of her job was assuring the citizens and making them feel safe and admitting that she didn't understand what was going on could severely break the trust they had in the police's ability to protect them.
That was one of the reasons she did what she did at the end of her shift. Not everyone wanted to know the real truth as she did and when she didn't get it on her own as an officer the universe granted her an opportunity as Svartalfheim. It was a difficult balance for a loyal officer of Destiny City to taken up the charade of one of the 'terrorists' but she kept reasoning it as an undercover duty just like you would pretend to be a criminal to get a foot in with the crime ring. There was nothing wrong with it, right? Just being called a criminal didn't make you one, and she assured herself nightly by upholding the highest standard of the law as she could.
"You're awfully curious, have you considered a job in the law enforcement?"

He was surprised by the question. "Uh...no. Not really." Since he had been recruited into the Negaverse when he was in school, he had been drilled that he had to avoid the cops at all costs. That despite his power boost, nothing could prevent bullets, and it was hard to get someone free if they ever were unfortunate and stupid enough to get arrested. Because of that, he never even entertained the idea of any job in law enforcement. As he saw it, he was already doing that. The Negaverse protected the city and the planet from space criminals, and the police protect people from normal criminals.
But....he was looking for work. Since he graduated online and his mood swings weren't as bad anymore, it was time he helped Billy, who was miserable at his job trying to help support them both.
"I don't think I'm the sort of material to be a cop. I'm not exactly buff and..." He gestured to his eye. "...my one eye isn't good. I'm sure you need to take physical and eye tests to be a cop or something. I wouldn't be any good." He looked at his lap. "I like what you guys all do. Protecting people. It's really ...honorable...putting your lives out there like that." He knew what risking your life each day meant. Not everyone could do it.

Disappointment found itself behind her smile, shining through her eyes. It was really too bad about his eye because you could never have enough new recruits, you know? Especially ones who actually wanted to do good things like protecting the people of the city. Not everyone did. Sometimes people just had egos to boost and power to find and neither of those were what Nicole would deem great qualities.
"What happened to your eye?" She asked as she took a left turn down a new street.
"Perfect vision and corrected vision are two separate issues, and depending on the department it might not be an issue. If it is something you'd be interesting in doing, you should pursue it." She said almost motherly. Sure, police needed standards for vision requirements for the sake of performing their duties but more or less it was about whether or not it would hinder them in a critical vision task.
She would not give up on a possible new recruit so soon!

His hands pressed down on his legs, fingers curling. He thought of a fist covered in spiked ice and a senshi bent of destroying him. A flash of pain as a sharp impact met, and the consequences after.
"It got....destroyed." His tone dropped, still having a hard time when he had to mention it. "The one I have is fake." He looked out the window at the apartments flashing by and the people still walking the sidewalks this late at night. "My depth perception isn't that good. So I couldn't have a gun or something." He had to practice a lot even with his weapon. A gun would have it's own difficulties. If he had to shoot one person next to another, who was to say he wouldn't hurt or miss the person he intended to fire at?
"So I guess I can't be a cop." Which was saddening. He didn't even know he wanted to be in that sort of job field until now. It had sparked a sense of purpose that was missing in his civilian life. He also desperately needed a job to help Billy.
