She hadn’t actually intended to get the job in the bookstore. She had thought about it, and even went to the site that the paper said, but after her chat with that one girl, she hadn’t really even meant to talk to the owners, but hey. There she was, chatting away to the nice lady who owned the store, and even sooner, there she was shaking the woman’s hand and promising that she would be in the next morning to help open the store.

Well. At least maybe she could try and work her schedule around her babysitting job…hey. There was twice the money right there. And then with her senshi duties…at the very least she wouldn’t be terribly bored with her life any time soon.

But a bookstore. Why on earth did she even apply there? What love for books had she ever had? A music store, oh yeah she could have seen that…a video game store or a sporting goods store, any of those would have been perfect…but a musky old dusty book store? She had to have been completely off her rocker to accept.

But then…she hadn’t even thought of the music store. She used to go there all the time…at least up until the whole senshi and girlfriend and everything…thing happened. Juniper shook her head. That would seriously have been the simplist course of action. Or she could have given piano lessons or anything cool like that…but no. She had to jump on the crazy train and take the first job she could…but…

She didn’t have to stay there forever. Juniper nodded slowly to herself. This wasn’t her career. This was a small hurdle that she had to cross in order to afford dates, and clothes and games and all that good stuff that she liked. She didn’t have to pledge her life to this store, she didn’t even really have to like the store. She just had to work, and do the best that she could and make as much money as she could. That was all.

The green haired teen walked a little straighter as this thought entered her mind, and a smile formed on her face. Yeah. That was the way to think about it. This was just adult life. Adult life that could be changed at any moment. She wasn’t even twenty years old yet. She was still completely in her prime, and this was the time to forge her own path and make her own mistakes and decisions and all of that good stuff. This was the start. This dusty old store…this was the window to the rest of her life…but at the same time, it wasn’t really all that grand.

At the end of the day. It’s just a job.
