Okay, so fishing for negas didn't go so well last time. Tonight when she powered up into a full fledged cat-lady and nested in a perch on a tree branch in the park, she made a very stern promise to herself that if any of them were generals with a history of stabbings she would not sit there and poke them.

A lot.

She was sure this time would go better. There had to be a few curious lieutenants who would wonder what this strange mirror energy being leaked out across the atmosphere was.

And into the index they'd go.

Zirconia would count herself lucky that Lieutenant Aluminite had decided to power up that night, considering what a disaster his last outing had been. He had been hesitant to even go out at night and try this whole being a vigilante thing again, but something had pushed him and out he went. He had slipped from his apartment and made his way to the first hidden alcove he could find.

Powering up still felt strange, the feeling of chaos rippling through his body and changing so much about him. His clothing changed, but so did the way he felt. Stronger. Faster. Better. Feeling this way was what had convinced him to step back out and power up. It was liberating and his sense of adventure was tingling.

He ducked out of his alcove, tugging the gray hood up over his head. He hadn't been walking far when a strange sense overcame him and stopped him in his tracks. Suddenly he was frowning, lips pressed tightly together and his face twisted in confusion. He didn't understand what it mean, was it the energy signal someone had mentioned to him? It was strange, very different than the two chaotic energies he experienced before.

Curiosity got the better of him and he embarked towards the leaking energy.

Zia was about to doze off, leaning against the tree trunk and waiting. And waiting. And then a little texting with the phone she was careful not to let go into subspace. And then more waiting.

This was why she didn't like regular fishing. Like for fish, and not paramilitary style agents of Chaos.

But suddenly an energy signature came onto her radar and she snapped to attention, almost falling down.

"Gah, holy s**t."

After some quick looking around, a lieutenant came into view, and she raised up one hand to frantically wave at him.

"Excuuuuse me! Do any of you vigilantes make a habit of helping helpless cats out of trees?" She was just being silly at this point, especially since she had to perfectly human legs to use to jump down with. But being bored out of your mind for so long did things with your head, man.

In truth, James had no idea what to expect once he found the source of the strange energy signal but he certainly hadn't expected to stumble upon some lady perched high in a tree. Okay, lady wasn't quite the correct word to describe her because she didn't look completely human. She had cat ears and a tail. They were real and not some costume part.

He seemed to skid to a halt, eyes wide and mouth open, at the sight of her. Was this what they meant when they said space invaders? He blinked slowly, mouth shutting and hand rising to stroke his jaw. He looked a bit dumbfounded. He cleared his throat before even attempting to speak. "Well," he paused, crooked grin sliding across his lips, "that depends." He tugged on the end of his hood. "Do you need rescuing or is that an excuse for me to hold you?

Okay, his comeback wasn't the best but hey, he though he was being clever.

"You could hold me if want," She laughed, kicking her bare feet a bit before jumping down.

"Can I have a picture?" She asked, turning the phone in both hands. Asking might go better, she decided. He gallery of knights was mostly derps and 'candid' shots and that was coming off as pretty creepy. After catching Realgar by surprise and Painite's being a blurred shot of a weapon rather than the nega she was not off to a great start with the Chaos side.

"I promise to just keep it forever and love it and not do anything nefarious with it." That had been Svartaflheim's main concern, so she jumped to getting that right out of the way without considering she might be suspiciously over defensive about concerns not even expressed yet.

Okay, so he had no idea how to react to the flirtatious cat lady once trapped in a tree but she jumped down and he found himself swallowing. "Looks like you didn't need my help after all," he said slowly, toying with his necklace. Idle hands didn't work for him, he was constantly playing with something.

He took a step back when she asked for a picture. "Don't you think it's a bit soon miss?" He inquired, brow arching in curiosity. "First you want me to hold you, then you're asking for my picture? I don't think we've properly met, let alone had a first date." He was trying oh-so hard to be sauve and smooth.

So far so good?

"I think I have to decline, at the very least," he told her, shaking his head. She was a bit more forward than he anticipated. "I think I should at least know your name."

"Oh, are you shy?" Zia cooed, reaching over to lightly touch his uniform collar. "You're the one who suggested I only wanted to be held!"

She hopped back a step and held out one hand in a stiff and extended offer for a handshake, letting the bangles on her wrists jingle. "Then let's get this meeting thing over with so we can get down to business. I'm--" She hesitated. She obviously couldn't introduce herself as Zia. But it occurred to her that when Zirconia was running the show, she didn't mind introducing herself as Zia in civilian form, wearing her face, using her family.

"Zirconia. I'm a guardian cat. And you're a lieutenant, correct? We can be great friends, you know."

"Don't be ridiculous," he countered, pretending to scoff. He was a bit shy normally but this anonymous state meant he could be a bit more bold and boy was he trying. "Do I seem shy to you? I was merely being polite," he argued folding his arms across his chest. He could be forward at times but was still mostly a gentleman.

Mostly.

He frowned at her extended hand before hesitantly reaching out and shaking it. "I'm still not to sure about this whole thing," he grumbled. His frown only deepened when she said guardian cat. They were a senshi thing weren't they. "I don't know about that," he retorted scooting back quickly. He looked at her skeptically. "Guardian cats are a senshi thing."

Senshi were not friends. "We can't be friends."

She made a frustrated whimper when he pulled away from her and her hands balled into light fists. She looked like she was just a half second away from stomping her foot like a child who had a toy taken away from them.

"Well that's racist," She countered. "Or... er... speciesist? Guardian cats are a species of being. And we're everywhere. The White Moon senshi have cats, the Negaverse has cats. And I don't belong to either. I am a free and neutral party. Can't you feel it? I'm projecting a pretty big aura right now."

Her ears angled down as she attempted a more wide eyed and open stance, playing with one of the bangles on her wrists.

"We could be friends. I talk to officers all the time!"

"Well you don't feel like a cat of the Negaverse," Aluminite tried to counter, arms folding over his chest as he eyed her warily. This had not been the interaction he had anticipated but how could be properly expect something from a being he'd never been introduced to before? This whole powered life thing was far more complicated than he thought and he was reminded of his time after space. Coping with these changes was proving difficult.

"It's different," he murmured though he had nothing else to base it upon. So far his interactions with the White Moon had been incredibly limited and he was convinced that he only knew of the aura of the negaverse. "But neutral seems," he paused, face contorting in thought, "Theoretically impossible."

Being neutral in a war only worked for Sweden, and even then it proved impossible at times. "Everyone favors a side whether they voice it vocally or not." The lieutenant viewed it as inevitable. "I can't be friends with someone I hardly know," he told her.

She raised her brow and crossed her arms, looking him up and down before shaking her head. "You're kind of a close minded individual, aren't you? Fine, you want to know where I stand? There's more than the Negaverse conflict with the White Moon, and if you want to be perfectly honest, I could care less about it."

She raised her shoulders and let them drop a bit. "My name is Zirconia, I'm a guardian cat and I used to belong to Nehelenia of the Black Court, and then Ares the Dark Mirror queen, but then she left me for her little puppets. I hate the White Moon and it's stupid little psycho pink haired princess since she's the entire reason I'm stuck here, and I would very much like to just go home, but I can't, because the White Moon stuck it's hands where they don't belong and ruined everything. So I don't have a side. I suppose I'm on my side, and it's a lonely one considering it's just... me."

She made a flippant wave of her hand. "The Negaverse doesn't really fall on my radar as far as hate and wars and stuff."

"Close-minded isn't the proper word," Aluminite countered, frowning at her. His arms folded over his eyes and his brows knitted together in discontent. Calling him close-minded wasn't fair because really, he didn't think he was but he was skeptical and this whole meeting was a bit...odd. "Skeptical or cautious would be better words I think," he argued before she went off on her tangent.

His eyebrows arched in surprise and his mouth hung open slightly. He hadn't expected what seemed like her whole life story to be laid out before him. "That sounds like a complex history," he mumbled, gaze dropping as his arms dropped to his sides. He sighed, running a hand through his hair when he opted to look up. "Look, I'm sorry," he paused, hesitating. He didn't know where he was going with his halfhearted apology but he already put it out there. "I'm sorry for miserable time here but it doesn't really explain why you want a picture of me," another pause, another frown.

He rocked back on his heels before he extended his hand out to her. An odd gesture considering how defensive he was being the whole night but he still offered it to her. "The White Moon just sound more horrid the more I learn about them," he gave her a half-smile. "And you're sassy and I don't really know anything about you but maybe you could use a little...fun?"

Really she seemed a bit high-strung.

A dramatic and overblown scoff came about when he called it a complex history. She didn't think it was a very extensive history, just a quick run down and oversimplification of alliances and side taking to clarify to complete lack of side having currently.

"I think I like close-minded better," She laughed, thinking it was obvious she was teasing him at this point anyway. "You run into any Negaverse officers or White Mooners and they think it's all about them and their war. Other things are at play here, but people are so tunnel visioned in on their own conflicts, they can't see it until it's too late."

She hoped the previous mention of her former loyalty to the Dark Mirror queen combined with that awkwardly ominous joke was enough for him to subtly put two and two together.

"Oh, well, your picture," She lifted up the phone instead of taking his hand and grinned. "Is for the catalog. Cats generally belong to someone, or a court, but I don't have one. Regardless, it is generally a cat's duty to collect and observe information whether they have someone or not, and I have a preference to the Negaverse," She was going to strategically leave out that preference stemmed from her affinity for knights, and only extended to the Negaverse because they were their corrupted counterparts.

"Also you're very cute."

"Wait, you mean it isn't all about me?" He asked, pressing his hand against his chest in feigned shock. He quickly followed with a face and light chuckling. He knew there was more to this whole dual-identity war than the individuals, but sometimes it was fun to pretend to be conceited. "Damn," he continued, sliding his fingers through his messy mop of hair, "and here I was thinking the world revolved around me." Okay, so sometimes he was a smart-a**.

She brought up wanting his picture, again, and he let himself look at her skeptically again but decided to concede. "I suppose I could let you take a picture of me this once," he told her. "Since you're flattering me and," he paused to grin, "it's hard to tell a pretty lady no." Being in his powered state really did numbers for his shyness. Or reservedness. Either way it made him bold.

"YooOOOoooooooOOooou," The cat girl droned as she moved her arms in a large circle in front of her as if she was circling the entire person of Lieutenant Aluminite, "As in you, the Negaverse organization, of which you, the individual, are a small part, silly pants."

Apparently the fact he was being a smartass had only half come through to her thinck and very slef absorbed skull.

But she grinned and snapped her picture quickly, satisfied she had achieved something from the encounter. "Are you going to tell me the name of the dashing officer I attach to this?" She asked as she bounced on the balls of her bare feet.

A new index entry in her grasp was exciting enough to warrant that, along with impatient flicking of the fluffy tail behind her.

"I could answer questions if you have any. You don't seem very educated!"
