It was only the roundness of her belly in contrast to her thin legs and dark reaching tines that gave Last Night the illusion of fragility. The gentle slopes of her body and her soft movements had always given her an air of frailty that hid the strength that was most aptly expressed in the sharpness of her antlers. For all her appearance of gentleness and tendency towards persistence and immovability rather than force, it would have been folly to attack her now when she was most willing to turn immediately to violence. Despite this, she was relaxed as she walked, leading, and searched.
Though they had parted ways briefly, she had found Nose again to inform him of his impending fatherhood to her clutch. And thus it was together that they set out to find a legendary to bless their clutch. For what exactly they were hoping for, she did not have in mind though Nose might have something in mind to set his heart at ease as much as his heart was capable. She had brought no offering of meat or trinkets, or even flowers. She had heard of such things, but in her mind, it seemed better to approach first than to presume that such gifts were wanted. There were other things that could be given that were much harder to give and that could hardly be anticipated.Ruriska edit Regardless of other breedings and friendships, Nose is always going to be special to Last Night. He is so very different from her which makes him tragically beautiful in her eyes. Jun D edit Thank you so much for agreeing to bless them! ♥♥

As was typical of Nose-in-the-air, the buck had a near mental breakdown upon hearing the news and once he recovered, had refused to leave Last Night's side for more than a second. It was lucky she had such a patient nature, as his constant fussing would have driven anyone else to homicidal rage. With his second clutch resting in her belly, Nose was struck by how different this felt from when his brief time with First Strike. He’d barely thought about the children last time around. They had happened, he had groaned a bit and then he’d come to love them; only to find his skills as a father were completely non-existent. He had tried, but he had failed them. This time it would be different, he told himself. "They shouldn't be so hard to find," he complained for the tenth time, as he stepped forward to unnecessarily push aside a branch that looked like it was going to get a few inches too close to Last Night. "They should all hang around the same place. Have a special Legendary club."

"It would hardly be fair to confine them to one place. We come and go as we please, the Swamp given to us by the MotherFather to live in," Last Night said mildly, gently, affectionately. She let him do as he pleased, content to let him settle his nerves as he needed and touched by his attentiveness. "Likewise, Legendaries do so as well."
She knew that he did not mean it as strongly as he said it and so she responded patiently and without bite, more because it should be said rather than that it needed to be said; he knew that she understood what he really meant. She also knew that his worries and troubles arose from his perceived failure with his last clutch. So much of him was defined by his first clutch and yet, she also saw in him something that was separate and uniquely his despite how he acted. She would not push him away, never, for they drifted together and apart as naturally as a streams merged and diverged, simply and easily.Ruriska Ahhhh~ She really likes him! ♥ Jun D It seemed appropriate for Last Night to respond, but whenever you think it natural for Cue to join, jump in~ I can't wait to see what she's going to do to them. xD

"A couple of them live at the Swamp border, if you want a nest of Legendaries," a sudden voice dryly drawled, "real lovebirds they are, too: children, tribe, and all. Can't imagine what you'd do with so many though."
And there she was, strange golden eye gleaming lazily beneath her lowered lids as she reclined on a nearby rock so conveniently flat, so conveniently placed.
"One at a time is bad enough, but a club? I'd snap before a week was out."

His heart nearly stopped. Whatever reply he had been about to give Last Night died on his lips as he did his best impersonation of a startled rabbit. He eventually recovered enough to stare resentfully at Cue and mutter, "your mental health is hardly my concern." At least they’d finally found a Legendary. "Well, shall we get down to business. My... my... mate-friend-something here needs a blessing… that is, if you haven’t scared her into premature labour already." Not that Last Night looked perturbed at all, Nose was the only one here that couldn't deal with sudden interruptions.

Last Night, on her part, had been surprised, but she took the mare's sudden appearance in stride and had immediately dipped into a low bow even as Nose froze and then grumbled by her side. By the time he fell silent, she was standing composed and gathered by his side, a faint smile on her face at his words. She had never felt the need to define their relationship and neither had it seemed Nose until now when the lack made it difficult to communicate in the most eloquent of ways.
Given Nose a gentle nudge on the cheek, she reassured him that she was hardly going into labor despite the fact that her belly was quite swollen. She spoke, voice mild and low, but even and polite, "If it is your will, we would be very grateful if you would bless our clutch."
"We understand that it is not a necessity or something that is needed, but it would would help settle at least some of the worries associated with parenting," Last Night continued, judging that this mare would not take well to being told that they needed her to do something and that she was required to oblige them.Ruriska Ahhhhh, Nose, Nose. Oh Nose. His snark! ♥ Jun D I kind of want a Legendary club now. xD Or at least to have Starburst meet another Legendary. Cue is actually on her radar because Peep mentioned her.

The golden eye bore into the buck for the longest time, before a sudden flash of white that seemed just a little too sharp for Kimeti teeth. "You want me to bless your clutch and my mental health is hardly your concern? Be careful what you wish for...
"But, yes, do go on, my dear: knowing that it's hardly a necessity, do tell me what sort of parenting worries you need assuaged to persuade me into this half-thankless task?" this, of course, to the placid doe, even if her eye (and unsettling smirk) never quite left the buck.Amorpheous Sorry for the unforgivable delay, I'm just...sick forever. Nose needed others to push back, otherwise he could spiral into a morose state where all, including himself, were subjected to his ire. Perhaps Last Night did not push in the same way as the legendary before them, but she could appreciate the sentiment none the less. The slightest smile on her face, more softness than happiness or even amusement, she leaned against him for a brief moment to quell his most immediate response.
"If you truly despised this task and did not want to perform it, would any worry persuade you?" There was no hostility in her voice, only curiosity as she looked upon the legendary. "Parents wish the best for their children and though a blessing cannot solve everything and a clutch without one may do just as well, a blessing, even for something as intangible and mutable as future happiness or a certain personality, may serve to push in desired direction."
She looked to Nose then, because she did not worry, at least not the way he did or even perhaps most parents. She believed that kin would become who they were and while a blessing may serve as influence, no things could be set in stone. So it was his worries that she hoped to assuage with a blessing. and so he must be the one to voice them. Nudging him to speak, she wondered idly if he would respond defensively or if he would speak truthfully, at least partly, of what troubled him.Jun D Ahh! Don't worry about it, Jun! Please take care of yourself!

The Legendary had fixed her eyes on him and Nose had gone abruptly and utterly quiet. He was blinking rapidly but couldn't seem to figure out the part where he actually looked away from her gaze. Cue's mental health was suddenly very much his concern, since his own well-being was now potentially on the line, but Night had just nudged him and so it was his turn to speak. He spluttered a bit, trying to find the right words. 'Please don't make them crazy like No Mercy' would be a good one, but it was a bit specific and 'make them nice' didn't seem to cut it. "Well... I-I'd like them to... respect the Swamp and know happiness with others." That seemed like a good start. Don't kill the animals just for kicks and get along with your fellow kin. Amorpheous what am i typing i don't know, aah

"Hm," she remarked, "as far as requests go, there could be worse ones, I guess. The kind of thing the Swamp would approve of, at least."
The unblinking stare finally relented, flicking briefly to his antlered mate before they shuttered.
"Alright, may your children respect the Swamp and know happiness with others...and not grow up to be raging psychos, yeah?"
Without waiting for an answer, she had leapt away - but pausing briefly, she tossed over her shoulder, "Your daughter says hi, by the way - or she probably would if she'd known I'd run into you. She'd probably be relieved your taste in does has improved, too. Have fun, kids."
Then she was an owlcat.
Then she was gone.Ruriska Ahaha I hope you don't mind I dragged THE BACKSTORY into it, I wanted to give her a reason for fixating on Nose, and she knows Little Poison, so...! <3 Amorpheous As above! I hope it's ok she's gone like this. ;A; If there's more you guys needed, just let me know! <3

Last Night blinked, watching the owlcat bound away. She wondered what it would be like to see directly through the eyes of another form. She shook her head then though for she was perfectly content with her point of view. She touched her nose gently against Nose's cheek once more before continuing on, walking as she was want to do and she knew he would follow.
He had once and he would again; she once followed him, and she was sure it would be so again. He was an anchor point for her after all.
Their children would be fine even if they didn't turn out like Nose hoped. It was all fine.
