Bio: Herald is a beast born of the Arenas in the SouthEastern regions. Originally taken and enslaved as a small child, he fought and killed for the entertainment of the masses as a gladiator. This continued for years with Herald consuming the souls of any human opponents he defeated. Finally, during a match against a human opponent, he killed her and consumed his final human soul, becoming a kishin egg. However, his friends Miles Libertatis and Magnus Maxwell, along with several others, had been planning to help him escape. Although they were successful in infiltrating and destroying the Arenas (for the time being) they were unable to stop Herald's transformation into what he is today.
Fortunately, one of his rescuers was able to seal away Herald inside a new body, putting him into a deep slumber while a new and more friendly personality developed. For over a year Herald slept silently while the personality that controlled his body matured and became the boy now known as Eric Hunter. Herald slept unaware as Eric joined the DWMA, found a partner, made friends and had a witch named Charlotte strengthen his seal. One day, however, a teacher accidentally broke Eric's seal in a display of force, awakening and releasing the kishin egg who promptly went to take revenge on the witch Charlotte for helping Eric keep him locked away.
Herald was ultimately defeated by a combined assault from Charlotte, Divine and several DWMA teachers. Upon his defeat, he was able to meet with his alternate personality, Eric Hunter. The two of them reached a deal where they would share their body so long as Herald could remain free and be unleashed from time to time. Although this worked for a while, Herald eventually grew tired of sharing a body and wanted his own. To this end, he made an alliance with the Blackwings: he would be given his own body and the strength to finally become a full kishin if he turned over Mirai and Texas to them.
The deal was made and Herald was given his own body. However, the process took time and Herald took Mirai and Texas as collateral while the separation took place. Naturally, the remaining members of Team Soul Syndicate chased down Herald to the place where the separation was taking place. Despite being delayed by constant illusions, they were able to make it to Herald just in time for him to complete the separation. After a brief confrontation, Emma Bakeneko convinced Herald to stop fighting and rejoin them. After they left, Herald created a realm where he and Emma could live in peace, where they now stay.
Abilities/Powers:
+Fires of Madness: Herald can breathe out madness powered blue fire, either in bursts or a steady stream.
+Flare Artillery: Herald can shoot dozens of fireballs straight up in the air, causing them to arc and come crashing down all around the battlefield, each one causing an explosion on contact with the ground or another solid object.
+Weapon Overload: Herald's massive resonance force causes any Weapon he's resonating with to grow in size and power to fit his much larger form. In some rare cases the Weapon can actually transform into a new type that fits his fighting style better.
+Volcano Bomb: Herald uses the vast majority of his resonance force to create a massive fireball (about half the size of a house in his normal form and about the size of a house in his kishin form) that hangs in the air. Upon will, the ball of flame will detonate with the force of a volcanic eruption in a massive explosion that affect the entire area. This almost always takes Herald out of the fight.
+Beast-Slash: Herald slashes the air, sending a blast of wavelength forward in the shape of his claws
+Phase Shift: In his kishin form, Herald can focus his resonance force to move too fast for the naked eye to follow. In reality, his resonance force is moving the very molecules of his body and individually shifting them through time and space in the direction he wants to go.
+Hypnotica: In his kishin form, the green swirls of energy behind Herald begin to flow all around him quickly within a roughly 10 foot radius of his person. These swirls will damage anyone they come in contact with, friend or foe and if an enemy stands within the 10 foot radius for more than several seconds, the swirls will begin to lock onto them attempt to hit them over and over until they die, defeat Herald or leave the radius.
+Afterburn: When Herald activates this ability in kishin form, all the green markings on his body begin to glow and resonance force burns brightly out of them like jet engines. Touching these directly will burn, but the main effect of this ability is that the air around Herald begins to heat up dramatically and once enough resonance force is built up, Herald can siphon it off by firing blasts of bright green resonance force from either his hands or any of the markings.
Personality: Herald's general personality is that he is brash and violent, quick to anger and very impulsive. He is stubborn to a fault and is always looking for a fight. Herald often doesn't think before he acts and rarely cares about the feelings of others. The one exception is Emma Bakeneko. When they are alone he is usually calm and caring towards her, seeing her as the only person who truly matters to him, although occasionally his brash personality can still show through. Everyone else must deal with Herald as he usually is.
