Mt. Ferros Intermediate Rank, Levels 1 - 20 Home to Rock, Ground, and Fire Types Forming a border around the west and south sides of Armonia is a long mountain range known as Mt. Ferros. In truth, Mt. Ferros is a dormant volcano, known for its fertile red soil. It's also a primary source of ore for Armonia. Although it's been many years since the last eruption, that doesn't mean the inside of the volcano is any less dangerous -- Mt. Ferros is full of long, intricate caverns, with a temperature so hot that only Fire, Rock, and Ground Pokemon can navigate it without help. Other Pokemon must obtain aVial of Waterto withstand the heat for more than a few minutes. In an effort to encourage treasure hunters to bring in items for the Gracidea Trading Association, Kasimira has a special promotion going on at her shop, offering Vials of Water for free.

Brynd was absolutely ready to get his adventure started, not wanting to waste any time, despite the fact that he was entering what was basically a death trap for Grass types. Why was he here again?
He was an adventure addict, and this place sounded like it was full of it. He was eager to enjoy it for that part, though the fire and heat certainly gave him a little pause. For like half a second.
Because hey, he had a vial of water with him, so how bad could it get? He took a breath and moved into the mountain, holding his head up high as he did so.

He entered an empty space, looking around with a frown. Well, that was alright, just just had to keep coming. Maybe rooms deeper in the dungeon would yield more results. Couldn't expect the world in treasure right at the start!
Brynd decided to follow a trail he thought he saw leading to the left. He was not sure if anyone else was even in here, though he knew he had seen a few other explorers at the shop. Hopefully they hadn't cleared the place out before he got there!

Well, he'd managed to find a couple of sticks in this area, but there was nothing else of note in the room. There were more pathways leading in various directions, and he just kept walking, not really minding which one he went down. He could remember the way out, he was sure, and if he needed to leave in a hurry he would just make sure he didn't get himself all turned around.
He settled on continuing down the path he had set for himself before, humming and striding almost lazily along. He was not in a hurry, despite the heat of the volcano, and he wondered if the vial of water was really making this place survivable. That was pretty awesome, though he didn't want to think about what would happen if he dropped it.

Another empty room! Maybe the dungeon was already emptied! The idea made Brynd sad on the inside, but he knew a true explorer did not give up!
He tried again, this time changing the direction he was traveling in, in case he was walking a path someone else had walked, and maybe just trying to get off that path would help. It was just a feeble effort to keep his hopes up, and he was just fine with that. He liked to tell himself things would be okay, and there was no harm in it.

Not that telling himself positive things had much bearing on reality. The next area he found himself in had nothing in it either!
He changed direction again. It was going to start being risky to keep altering his path, but he felt like he had no choice at this point. It was step up his methods of searching, or be stuck walking into the same areas that someone else must have cleared out before he got there.
And he was not going to waste his time in coming into a volcano just to leave empty handed! This was a big risk for him, and he was very determined.

A Quilava! He could not believe it! This was either his lucky day, or his terribly unlucky day. This guy was a fire type and was clearly spoiling for a fight, turning on the Bulbasaur as soon as he walked into the room. It was rude, to be sure, but then, that was the point of these adventures. There were always pokemon looking for fights, looking to make themselves stronger or protect something, or whatever it was that fueled them and justified their attacking the unsuspecting newbies that pass into their territory.
He was not going to back down. Even as the Quilava charged him, he held his ground and then leaped out of the way just before the tackle connected. Quilava slammed right into a rocky wall and passed out. HA! That counted as a win, and the grass type pokemon would definitely take it.
Though he ran from the room before the Quilava could gather his senses again.

After that win, he was feeling pretty bold. It was not a mistake to come here, after all. He just needed to keep his focus, and look harder for more interesting things.
With new determination, Brynd padded his way from the last room, where the Quilava was stirring, into a new area. He kept his eyes wide open and moved at a quicker pace, eager now and not fearing the fire after realizing how potent the water he had gotten for this adventure really was.

Another battle! This one was with a Numel, and the dopey looking pokemon had not yet seen the Bulbasaur as he entered the area. Maybe he could get the drop on his opponent, and win another victory for himself against the dreaded fire types that were, in reality, the bane of his existence. He grinned broadly, all confidence, which was probably a little misplaced, this early in his career.
But hey, one often learned the hard way, didn't they?

It seemed like Brynd was a Bulbasaur built for battler! He was able to attack the unsuspecting Numel with a well placed tackle, slamming his head into the Numel's soft side and sending him sprawling. It was enough to wake the poor dozing thing up, and send him scampering from the room, revealing another pathway that he had been blocking. Awesome!
