The chaos of the island was actually familiar - things had gotten too mundane, which meant that everyone had gotten a little too comfortable as far as Sasha was concerned. She was determined to get her weapon back as soon as possible. The emptiness that resounded in her mind was becoming a little too maddening, and Sasha was itching to get back to Scotland. She wasn't going to go alone. Not this time. Sasha chose a few names at random, and shot off a few very brief texts. Bittiface Text to: DylonText from: Sasha B.External mission, your presence is required. Portals. Bring any supplies you think you might need. hanging gallow Text to: MatthewText from: Sasha B.External mission, your presence is required. Portals. Bring any supplies you think you might need. And a few names... not really at random. Inle-roo Text to: EvanText from: SashaI'm heading out on an external mission of sorts, and I remember you being rather helpful while we tested the Argus golem. If you're interested, meet me at the portals. Bring whatever supplies you feel necessary. Ravvlet Text to: WashText from: SashaIt's time. I'm at the portals. I've packed some things for you already, so you don't need to worry about it. Bilious Text to: JerryText from: SashaScotland. Portals. I'm waiting. Bring anything you think you'll need. The portal was open and waiting, thanks to the doctor, and Sasha stood waiting with two small satchels of supplies at her side.

Dylon beamed happily at the message. He'd been doing as much as he could to study up on how being a Hunter worked, training on his own with his weapon and a lot of library visits. But now he'd finally get to see just what a "mission" entailed. Reading about something, hearing about it.. it meant nothing without actual experience to validate it.
Dylon brought a small back with him. Emergency rations, and the most basic of things he was allowed. Mostly, he was armed with enthusiasm.
The young man jogged up to the waiting lady, giving her a bright smile and a nod. "Thank you for the opportunity. You're Sasha? I'm Dylon." He held out a hand for a quick but firm hand shake. He didn't want to keep her from anything if they were leaving soon.

Sasha offered Dylon a slow, practiced smile as he approached, her features slipping into an expression that looked entirely too welcoming.
"Dylon. Pleasure." Her voice was cool, and there was no warmth in her pale, chill gaze. He was nearly too adorable. Sasha briefly recalled how Scotland had treated her the first time she'd visited.
It was likely that eager smile would be broken before too long. Sasha briefly mourned the loss.
"We're just waiting on a few others. I appreciate your punctuality."
She acted as if she'd given any time frame aside from right now.

The lady seemed a bit stand offish, or just calculating. Yeah, calculating seemed a good word. She was very very pretty though. Dylon smiled politely and nodded, stepping off to the side to wait for the others as well.
"Ah, I've never been on a mission before this, so I apologize in advance if I'm not up to par, yet. But don't worry, I'll be doing my best, and I'll look out for the safety of the team with all the power I can offer!" Dylon offered his words to pass the time, slipping his hands into is pockets idly.

"Hey," Wash called. Sally wasn't summoned on his arm yet - but it was an effort not to. He was nervous; worried. Sasha looked cool and collected, as always - he wondered what was going on behind her careful facade.
He wondered if her heart fluttered nervously in her chest, as his did.
He approached slowly, finally noticing someone was with he. He gave the young man a quick once-over - a new trainee, maybe? There was something about his posture and words that said shiny, new.
He glanced to Sasha with a slight frown before turning back.
"Hello there. Don't recognize ya. Th' name's Wash." He offered the stranger his hand.

"Wash, this is Dylon," Sasha fairly purred as she rose on tiptoe to press a kiss to the moon's jaw. "He'll be tagging along with us."
She caught that slight frown and responded to it by slightly pursing her lips as she pulled away from the Moon. Sasha's attention was taken by Dylon once more, and as she crossed her arms and cocked a hip, she couldn't help but lift a brow. The barest trace of a smile graced her lips.
"I'm sure you'll do just fine," Sasha watched him keenly. "So long as you listen and stay alert. What sort of weapon do you have?"

Dylon smiled at Wash as Sasha introduced him, giving the man a firm and eager handshake. It looked like he was in Moon too. Maybe he could learn a thing or two, if he'd been there longer than himself.
Dylon leaned back again, smiling ear to ear. "Katars. My weapon used to be a werewolf, or so he tells me. If need be, I can use his Fear ability to heal."

A mission was just what Evan needed to distract himself from dwelling on all of the crazy s**t that had happened while they had been in the Tear. This would give him purpose, at least for a little while, and a chance to not have to think, just follow orders. It made him kind of happy, too, to be remembered as "helpful."
Without knowing anything about the mission, he wasn't sure what supplies to bring, so he just brought himself and figured the rest of it would work itself off. A few people were already there; he hoped he wasn't late.
"Ma'am," Evan said to Sasha, forcing a smile. "Always happy to help." The happy-looking kid received a nod and an expression of pity, and the other guy--he looked awfully familiar. He couldn't recall seeing him around the island, but Evan was certain he had met him before.

There had certainly been a lot going on since their return from what he could only consider 'dreamland.' His head was still spinning from it all- nevermind... everything else.
When the text from Sasha came in, Jerry was momentarily confused until he remembered the last time she had come back from Scotland and had come to him in desperate confidence. It was touching, really, in retrospect, to trust such emotions to someone who didn't know her much at all as far as he could recall.
He had promised to help her, though. And so he would. He got what he needed from his room, tidied himself up as best he could, before realizing he was late.
He ran the rest of the way. "CAVALRY IS HERE!!" He shouted before he managed to make his way up to the group, huffing and puffing and panting, and had to bend over a moment to catch his breath before saying anything more.

((Sorry for slow reply at dragoncon this weekend.))
He already knew the ending as he flipped through the book reading the occasional pages of the story to remember the key points. It was familiar for other reasons but he didn't remember why. Not that there was any reason to worry at the moment, he would remember later. The phone started to buzz on the nightstand, looking at it he sighed and went and gathered up some emergency rations and a first aid kit.
Picking up his jacket and the necklace on the night stand he headed off to the portals. When he reached there, everyone else was already there, obviously he was always late to the party.
"Sorry I'm late," Matt replied as he meet the unfamiliar hunter at the portals, "Matt reporting for duty!"

As Evan, Jerry and Matt arrived, Sasha gave them each a smile in turn. It was not a particularly friendly smile, nor was it welcoming. If anything it was merely a pinched upturn of her lips. "Thank you for coming. The doctor was so kind as to open a portal for us. Another will open in five days so that we can come home." She hoped. "Since we're all here, we might as well get moving." Sasha gestured at the portal with her hand, eyebrows raised. "I will brief you further once we're through the portal." She still wasn't sure what would be waiting for them on the other side.

The Delacroix lands were much the same as before, and Sasha's group would find themselves in the fairly mundane situation of having to choose where to set up camp. The rectory and the cottage may each provide enough room for the group, but it may also be preferable to sleep in the open, or camp in different areas each night.

Dylon hopped right to it once the group was assembled and Sasha gave her order. The young man stepped through the portal, withholding the urge to ooh and awe over it. It was hard. Very hard.
What met him on the other side seemed ordinary enough. He still wasn't sure what the mission was about. Maybe he should ask?
"So, um. Sorry, but what should we do first?" Dylon asked hopefully, directed at Sasha. He didn't want to ask too many questions, not wanting to be unnecessarily dependant on her. He'd need to do things on his own too. It sucked being new.
Five days was a long time, right? "Ooh a cottage!"

Wash gave Jerry a nod, and Evan a speculative look - he almost recognized him. Then they were on their way.
He glanced back to Sasha, shooting her a warm, supportive smile. They could do this. Together.
He stepped through the portal.
He did summon Sally to his arm now, taking a point position a few feet from where everyone was coming through, scanning the horizon. It was surprisingly quiet, however. Peaceful. He'd like to say it was too quiet, but it simply wasn't true. Everything seemed...suspiciously normal.
It was, actually, if he put the caution and paranoia aside, a lovely if somewhat run-down estate.
He nearly jumped out of his skin when Dylon started talking. Nerves. He rolled his shoulders, trying to release the tension.

Jerry recieved Wash's nod with a smile and a nod back before taking a breath and stepping in after the rest of the assembled crew.
Five whole days... out camping in the dark. Jerry surveyed the landscape with a low whistle. It was certainly beautiful, in an eery sort of way, at least. He hefted his pack on his shoulders, stepping away from the portal, but not too far. "So what's the plan, Boss?" He gave Sasha what he hoped was an assuring, trusting smile. "Campfire or something?"
