"Salad. Check. Drinks... Check!"
Leonora looked at her stove as was quickly moving along making dinner. Her green-blue hair was tied back in a braid in the back while a hairband held back her bangs. She had a smile on her face. The recipe she was preparing was easy, but would taste delicious. Plus, it had wine in it! She swirled around the wine that she had chosen for this particular recipe.
Pork tenderloin. Just the thought of it made her tummy rumble. The pork was already on the baking pan, covered with seasoning, and veggies. Now it was time for the wine.
She poured it on generously, smelling the wine as it covered the pork and veggies just a little bit. It wasn't even cooked yet and it smelled delicious to Leonora. It would take a while to cook in the oven, but at least during that time she could work on the baked Alaska. The ice cream and base of the cake was ready and all that was left was to make the meringue.
Leonora had already taken out all the ingredients needed and started to bring everything together. She had a little bit of a surprise for that dessert. She had done it several occasions for herself, but not too often a show for a friend.
All in all, she really hoped Alf-- er... Noah wasn't allergic to anything.Carneli ((He's totally able to bring over stuff X"D Leonora unknowingly overcooked anyways >w> <3))

Appetizers were good, right? This was Noah's thought as he stood at Leonora's door, holding the plate with his meager offering. When she invited him to dinner at her place, there was a bit of an inner snob in him that came out and cringed.
He rarely had someone else cook for him. He cooked for himself, or he ate Marco's food which was more of a collaboration effort than anything.
If nothing else, he had brought a plate of fresh crostini and a roasted red pepper garnish he'd made himself. It was cheating, probably, since his restaurant baked their own bread and all he had to do was grab a few things at home, but at the very least something was there to snack on and make him look like something other than a total mooch.
He knocked on the door and cringed a little, trying to push the foodie snob deeply ingrained in him back a little. Leonora was nice! Offering him dinner was nice! He would just have to remember to be nice himself.

Leonora had, for the most part, finished the meringue and it was ready for the cake! It had taken a while for the cake to slip off, but hey... At least it was yummy looking. Coffee, mint chocolate, and dark chocolate ice cream on top of some store-bought pound cake. It wasn't all from scratch, but at least most of it was!
She had the hand mixer just out of the bowl of meringue when the door bell rang. Leonora instinctively called out. "Just a minute!" The extra parts on the whipping blades would make a mess if she didn't take them off, so she took them off the machine before walking swiftly to the door.
Once the door was open, Leonora gave Noah a warm smile! "Alf-- I mean, Noah! Glad you could make it!" She looked at the plate and noticed the appetizers he brought. Leonora was thankful since at that moment, her stomach made a small grumble. "My stomach seems really glad you brought an appetizer! Dinner has been in the oven, but there's salad on the table already and now we can munch on what you brought too!"
"It's really nice to see you again since that... Odd maze thing we were in." She laughed. It was nice to be in the comfort of her own home to be able to talk about things concerning the other side of her life. If they had gone out to eat, they wouldn't be able to talk as openly. "How have you been recently?"
She took the plate from Noah as she led him towards the dinner table. From there, the kitchen was visible over a small breakfast nook. "Sorry it's a bit small here. Only really made for one person!"

"I've been fine!" Was what he said, but when he walked in, he walked with a limp. Between the maze from hell and and now he had managed to get into a patrolling snafu and his right leg still hadn't recovered. Even walking to the door was a pain.
"I guess it's a little weird adjusting," He said with a bit of a laugh, but he went straight for the chair and sat down with a groan. He was really going to need to see a doctor. One of these days.
"I mean seeing each other out of the whole knight... thing."
He looked around the small place, and couldn't help but mentally compare it to his apartment. His place was bigger, but not as homey. Probably because he didn't get to spend much time in it. In the meantime, Leonora seemed to be super busy still prepping.
"This is... a lot of food. It's just the two of us tonight, right?" He asked, suddenly nervous they had miscommunicated plans. "Do you need any help?"

Leonora easily noticed the limp. It would be bad to be a massage therapist and not be able to see something like that when a customer walked in. People seemed to like that she had a good eye for those kind of things. Immediately, she made her way to a small closet, pulling out a pillow case and then to the fridge, to pull out an ice pack with mud inside. After putting it inside, she handed it to Noah.
"Here. Ice your leg where it hurts." She smiled warmly. "And I can handle things in the kitchen. I just needed to finish the meringue. The pork chops are almost done." She nodded, looking at the timer above the oven. "Just a few more minutes and we can eat! Why don't you start chowin' down on what you made?"
She looked over at them and took a crostini. "They look delicious! And oh yeah!" There had been a bottle of red wine cooling in a wine cooler since before she started cooking. "Feel free to have some wine!"
"Also... Out of curiosity, how did you end up a part of this 'knight' world? I'm still a little confused about my own origins."

"Oh, wait-- no you don't have t-to... thanks," Noah sighed and took the makeshift icepack even after stammeringly objecting as he watched her drop what she was doing to get it for him. The relief did get a contended sigh out of him as he made himself comfortable and held it over his knee.
He look at the wine bottle and raised an eyebrow with a bit of a shrug. He was more of a beer person, but it looked good. He did have to wonder what he was getting into since he detected the pungent smell of someone who'd been cooking with liquor, though.
"Well they smell good," He said with an encouraging nod. "Do you cook often?"
Her question was a lot more loaded than she was probably expecting and he visibly cringed at it. "Ah... well uh... apparently it's a family thing?"
His least favorite aspect, and it ended up being all he could think to start with. "I mean, bloodlines and uh... uh... stuff. I go to my wonder and I can talk to the old Alfheim from the past, and she apparently a relative, I guess, so it's all pretty weird. What happened with you?"

"It's okay. I hurt myself more often than not so I do have them ready." She smiled at him. Cooking was the main reason for why she got hurt. "I have a tendency of having accidents in the kitchen. Not like... Badly, but because I get excited or something." Leonora couldn't help but laugh at herself. It was stupid, but she assumed that was part of being passionate.
Honestly, she had burned herself so many times, her hands were slowly getting used to touching hot things. Warm things didn't even bother her anymore.
"Family thing, huh?" That sounded really interesting, but it didn't seem the right fit for her. "That's pretty cool! I really need to find a way to learn more about myself... Enjoy the drinks and appetizers!"
Leonora walked back to the kitchen, the smell of the pork flooding the room and would soon reach Noah. She felt her stomach rumble. If only she could speed up time and have it ready now. She still had to finish the baked Alaska, so not like she didn't have anything to do.
Using a hand mixer, Leonora whipped up the egg whites, sugar and cream of tartar until they were a stiff peak. "Nice and glossy!" She pulled out the baked Alaska from the freezer and spooned on the meringue, making lovely swirls on the top as she went. It would need to be torched a bit, but that was for later.
As she went to pop the cake back into the freezer, the timer for the pork chops went off. "Time for dinner," she happily exclaimed. There was a lot of good food that was just waiting to be chowed down on.
~~
It was a wonderful meal and as she bid Noah goodbye. Of course, she had cooked too much and had him leave with leftovers. Minus the baked Alaska anyways. The cake would probably be a puddle before he got home. Leonora couldn't wait to have more people to cook for.
