Also after the starry night, and meeting Shiloh, The mist huntress wanted to know more about him. and his ducky boots. Mostly ducky boots since for some reason, she was starting to feel like she was meeting a large amount of men on the island.
and to be honest, for a girl who actually grew up with girls..or more specifically her twin, she was getting a little shy about all the attention.
But making friends was her goal and since men seemed to outnumber women on the Island, It was better to buck up.
Except like Ian she had no idea where to go, So instead she sat outside in her white sundress and large hat that Tuck gotten her from Hawaii, enjoying the air outside. She supposed too that maybe she should look for something to plant or..."Oh my god flowers..." They were far and few in between but she bent down, looking at the sprouting forms.

The island was hot without the fog, but Shiloh didn’t mind. In fact he was kind of glad to see the sun again, and had stripped down to the bare essentials, meaning his pants, rolled up to his knees, and of course his ducky boots. He caught sight of Nevada as he walked outside, and his expression brightened. She had definitely seemed like a really nice girl, and as he knew only a few people on the island, he was always keen on making new friends. Walking up beside her, he stooped, admiring the flowers too. “Pretty, huh? I think they’re glad the sun’s out.”

She flipped the hat up, surprised that the very man she had been thinking about suddenly appeared.
"Would you look at that? I guess thinking about someone hard enough makes them magically appear. Or you a figment of my heat fevered mind Shiloh?" She looked down to the rubber boots, "Perhaps not, I still don't think I can imagine something so adorable." She laughed before looking down to the flowers.
"I love flowers, so the few and far out are really inspiring to see. It kind of reminds me of new life on the Island. What's in store for us. Some deep thoughts." She bent up, holding her hand on the top of her hat covered head so it didn't fly off. The breeze wasn't strong but they were on a Island. It could change.
"How are you doing Adorable?"

“See, told you I’m adorable,” he laughed, sticking his tongue out at her. He hadn’t really expected his rubber boots to stand out all that much; at home they certainly hadn’t been a huge fashion statement, just a silly joke. Not that the people at Deus seemed anymore conservative than home, but it seemed a lot of them had perhaps more refined tastes. They were respected and intelligent individuals after all, it only made sense but Shiloh sometimes wondered if he wasn’t a little out of place. He was like the little flowers that had cropped up, pretty but not a whole lot else going on. Not to say that he was stupid, but amongst his colleagues here, he certainly felt a little lackluster. “New life, huh? Seems like there is a lot of new life popping up… Like that tentacle in the water. Only it’s not nearly as pretty to look at as these little guys though. Do you think we’ll see more of them?”

She liked the playfulness, her smile sweet as she laughed with him.
"New life. What there was a tentacle in the water?" She looked over startled, "More tentacles, I really hope not Shiloh, I would cry." She blinked, "Oh you mean the flowers! Well I suppose we might! I heard that farming is not accessible." She hummed before reaching out to take his hand, "We should find some things to plant and stuff." Poor Shiloh was dragged back into the Deus building and all the way to the life labs where Nevada harassed life techs for seeds of any kind.
Once done, she came over to the hunter and held out a couple packs. "they gave me Watermelon, Tomato and Cucumber seeds! Do you want to plant them with me?" A hopeful one eyed expression was aimed at him.

Shiloh laughed softly, and was about to comfort Nevada’s genuine concern over the tentacles but it was grower more and more difficult to get any words in as the woman continued on about flowers and planting. He opened his mouth to agree with her, but it seemed like he didn’t have a choice, and he was laughing again as she dragged him off to the Life labs and miraculously managed to scrounge up some seeds. Frankly, he was rather amazed at her. “Those sound perfect, I’d love to, Nevada,” he answered, smiling at her brightly. He certainly hadn’t expected to leave his small farming community to come to Deus and do more farming, but in all honesty, it was far more comforting than avoiding the eerie swirling fog that usually covered the island. Besides, Nevada seemed like a lot of fun, and he looked forward to learning more about her. “We’ll have to find a less sandy spot though, I don’t think they’ll thrive as well as the flowers. Maybe we should try replanting some of those too!”

Yes she felt bad for Shy, and dragging him around. But she was a woman on a mission and if they could have crops, by god she would have some goddamn crops.
She didn't see why he'd be amazed by her, she was nothing special. It was easy to get seeds right?
"Less sandy, Okay." She focused, her head turning downward with a very serious like expression not accustomed to playing on her features. She brought her hand out, tapping a fist on it and pointing at Shy.
"We should try the corn fields right?" If the stalks of corn could grow there, then maybe the other seeds would.
"Should....we dig up the flowers to replant them?" her face turned to one of horror as she gently took his arm, "Wouldn't that kill them???"
She was seriously a city girl Shy, She had no idea about these things.

It hadn’t occurred to Shiloh to simply just ask for seeds, so the fact that Nevada had managed to procure some was impressive to him indeed. He nodded at her. The cornfield would be their best bet. But as she continued her line of questioning, he couldn’t hold back his laughter, and he stroked her arm reassuringly. “No, no, it’s fine, they should be okay! We just have to dig far enough down that we take both the flower and its roots. Besides, we won’t take all of them, just enough to start a new garden.” He smiled at her kindly, and bent to pluck a single flower, reaching up to tuck it gently in her hair. She was a bit uneducated, it seemed, about the ins and outs of agriculture, but he was sure she was a lot smarter than him when it came to everything else. She was certainly cuter, he was sure, and he smiled again. “A worthy sacrifice,” he said, admiring his handiwork.

"Oh....Oh okay..." She bit her lip as she looked up at him. "We...We should get buckets then...and some small shovels...." She ran off again, only to return moments later with the buckets used for mopping (which were empty and dry) and garden shovels. She gave Shy a sheepish smile.
"I had these ready just in case....." As a mist, you should always be prepared. thank god the lifers had given her the shovels. The buckets she had grabbed from supply closet on the way back.
The flower tucked into her hair startled her for a moment, causing one green eye to look at Shy with a bit of awe before it melted all back into her usual lazy smirk.
"Thank you." She murmured, her hand going up to touch the flower as she bent down and looked at the others, a slight blush because jeez Shy, that was smooth..... "Which one's do you want to take Shiloh?" She pointed down at the small flowers, the white and lavender ones caught her eye...but so did the sunny yellow ones.

Shiloh was glad Nevada was so quick on her feet, in only what seemed like minutes, she had brought back buckets and shovels, while he had been busy deliberating on how he was going to carry all of the flowers in his arms. Her way was better, and much smarter, and he smiled brightly at her upon her return. "Those'll do perfect," he said, gathering up a couple of the buckets and a shovel after he'd placed the flower in her hair. He didn't skip a beat, acting as though giving a pretty girl a flower was the most natural thing in the world. Truth was, he hadn't given it much consideration at all, only that she had liked the flowers and so he assumed she would enjoy one as an accessory. She was a nice girl after all, and he wanted to do something nice for her. "Any is fine with me, if you have a particular preference? Those white and lavender ones might do better with a more tender touch, if you are so inclined." He was smiling at her again.

She watched Shy carefully as he set upon the flowers, spotting a couple of white and lavender again, debating over them.
"Those are pretty!" She smiled back at him, crouching down to poke gently at the blooms. "Don't you want some of your favorite colors too? Do you like Yellow? or maybe the red ones?" There was a slight abundunce of color even among the measely blooms, she chalked it up to it being a tropical island.
His smile was contagious and her's stayed well placed on her face.
"So Mister gardener, teach me your magic green thumb tricks to make sure I don't kill these flowers?" She chuckled, gently touching the flower again to keep it in place. "How come you know so much gardening though? I think I might've mentioned it but I come from the suburbs of a port town, we aren't really the growing type."

Shiloh laughed. "Naw, any colours are pretty much good for me. After all, the way to a man's heart is his stomach and all that, crop flowers are the ones I like best, 'cause it means food is gonna be sprouting up next." Nevada didn't seemed any better equipped to choose colours than he was, seemingly she liked them all. He couldn't blame her, they were pretty, all of them. They brightened up the place, and he was sure they'd look nice elsewhere too, even if they didn't have much use besides decoration. In a place as dismal as Deus, the power of decorations wasn't something to be overlooked. Deciding to just grab a few of each colour, he carefully dug a wide enough radius around the flower's base, and continued digging down until he could scoop out the roots. "Well, they might not take anyway, if they don't like the soil, there's always a risk with transplanting things. But just be careful not to injure their root systems, and hopefully they will thrive okay." Shiloh was used to planting, though his expertise definitely wasn't in the field of flowers. He likened that they couldn't be all that different from planting anything else though, just a bit more delicate. "I grew up on a farm, so you learn the ropes growing up. You know, city girl, last time I checked, flowers still grew in the suburbs." He was teasing her, his own upbringing, though it had been on a farm, was far removed from the rugged and poor working farmer's life that most people usually pictured. His family had been well off, and though they worked hard, they had never wanted for anything, and for the most part, they had lived in luxury.

"Way to a man's heart is stomach, this is good to know." She laughed. "Okay!" She removed the flowers as delicately as she could.
"My parents didn't think gardening was a good job for us. My mom left it to the landworkers, you know the guys that will mow your lawn and stuff." Suburbs had the same front yards the whole block down after all.
"The sad thing is, he preferred to lock me and Alaska up until we were bored out of our mind from homework and papers until we were bleeding out the eyes. I think we got into sports more then we did anything else." With the flowers delicately placed in her tub, she smiled at him again. "To the corn fields handsome?"

“It is for me at least,” he smiled at her, picking the flowers carefully and putting them into the buckets. “Nothing says ‘I love you’ better than a nicely cooked meal. And considering the grub we get around here, pretty sure I’d just about marry the first person to grill me a steak.” He frowned a little as Nevada explained the reasoning behind her lack of a green thumb, and he shook his head as he stood up. “That’s no good, I mean, I can't imagine being cooped up like that. But yeah, corn fields,” he agreed, nodding in their direction, continuing once they started to walk. “I mean we had workers too but my dad was determined that we learn what hard work was, so my siblings and I helped out with the farm a lot.”

"Oh?" She gave him a pointed and very considering look, would you marry her Shiloh for steak? "Maybe I will take that offer and beat the ladies before they can get to you first!" She laughed again, enjoying the idea of it. As if Shy was at the moment, fighting hoards of ladies for affections.
You know what, she bet he was....
"Eh, It was the parents way. I'm not cooped up anymore..." She didn't want to dampen the mood, "And neither is Alaska. I can learn as we go right?" Walking with him slowly, and managing not to damage and bruise the flowers and roots proved difficult at first...until she got a good rhythm.
"That sounds like a good dad too. Didn't want his kids to end up like the spoiled brats with Ipads and Iphones and Cars that cost more than a house right?" She was teasing again.
