After the stargazing trip, Nevada was fair to say that her and Ian even brushings of acquaintances for her to now seek out his attention. It wasn't that she had fallen for him or anything, but he was a mist hunter and she was obligated to learn more about her team.
Especially after the attack from Amrita.
Except she didn't know where to look for the mist.
Guess this was time to start practicing her death skills.
So she started in the cafeteria.
"Iaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn`" She said with a sing song voice, looking in.

He was, in fact, in the cafeteria, but it was mostly out of habit and less because he actually wanted to eat anything.
Not that there was anything particularly edible to eat anyway, considering that the kitchen staff, following the only essentials rule had decided to turn off their ovens and fry things, stubbornly refusing any sort of cooked food. Which, most unfortunately, left everyone with the very unappealing choices of either floppy ham and cheese sandwiches or salads.
Neither choice was particularly appetizing, so Ian had plucked up an apple instead and was now sitting at one of the tables off to the side, leaning back with a book in his hand and the apple in the other.
He looked up, however, at the sound of a familiar, lilting voice.
"Ah, Nevada," said Ian pleasantly, lowering the book and giving her a small wave. "Good morning, pretty lady."

Nevada startled a little bit when Ian actually was in there before her smile spread. She wasn't hungry so she headed straight over to his table and made herself comfy across from him. Her hands resting in her chin resting on the table.
"Good morning Handsome!" She blinked, looking him over. "How are you this morning??"

Ian's eyes followed Nevada as she made her way towards him, a smile curling on his lips as she sat down. "Never better," he said smoothly, setting down the book entirely and sliding it away from him in favor of much more favorable things to look at.
"How are things with you?" he asked. "Getting along all right?"

"Considering our positions Handsome, I am going to say you are one that is in tune with the finer points of life." Nevada continued to meet his smile with her own. "I'm fine as sunshine on this Island." Which to most was not fine, and to other it was a blessing.
"Missing real food, and warm showers but considering the worst options, I think I'll survive." She studied him longer.
"I wanted to get to know you better Ian, Want to exchange secrets?"

He grinned, except it was more like a smirk. Ian took a bite of his apple and chewed slowly and thoughtfully. "And you look as fine as sunshine as well," he added casually, and tilted his head towards Nevada, the smile growing a bit more calculated.
"Oh?" he asked lightly. "What sort of secrets? Like a game? I do so love a good game, after all..."

Nevada appreciated the sly and smooth transition from flirting to secrets. Catching a deeper interest from him made her all tingly and stuff. it meant she was playing the game right anyways.
"Yes, A game." She looked thoughtful, "I like games too. I like to win games." She reached over to slowly jack his apple, taking a bite out from next to his. "How do you propose to do this handsome?"
What, he suggested a game okay. Kurotomato I keep wanting to Type Kuromizuki in the quote box |:

Oh, he liked this. He liked it a lot.
"Well," said Ian thoughtfully, his fingers loosening as he allowed Nevada to take the apple from him, sliding her a musing sort of glance. "We can call it Truth. We can each ask the other one question and they have to answer it truthfully. If you don't want to answer or can't answer, you lose."
He smirked a little. "You can, however, delay answering for a bit, but if you don't answer, well..."
Ian reached out, plucking the apple back and taking another bite.
"What do you think of that, beautiful?"

Nevada hummed as he described the game. Simple, down to the point and fun. Just her style. Smiling at him, she loosened her hold on the apple as he took it back before replying.
"Truth it is." She leaned over and gave him a lazy once over. "Should we ante any stakes in Handsome? Incentive to win is always good..." Not that getting to know the mist hunter was incentive enough.
"Also I think that if you keep flattering me, I might have to keep you." Oh how she wished she could wink. Instead she propped her chin on her hand.
"Do you want to start handsome?"

Ian chewed thoughtfully, tapping the half eaten apple against his chin. A lazy smile on his face, he tilted his head towards Nevada.
"If I win," he said. "I get something of yours. My choice. And if you win - vice versa. The challenge lies in what that something is."
Oh, but he did love playing games. Ian's smile widened a little.
"You first, pretty lady. A gentleman always lets the lady go first."

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......
"So long as it isn't anything intimate darling, I'll take you up on it." She tapped her fingers on the table, "Such a gentleman Ian, I knew I always liked you." She teased.
Her expression went thoughtful for a moment, thinking of what to ask him. Well they could start simple after all, this was exploration game. To find secrets, you'd have to unbury the things over them first.
"Do you have siblings Ian? Hopefully they are as handsome as you right..."

Ian smirked. "Not too intimate, I'm sure," he said lightly, and took another bite of his apple, chewing slowly.
"Three," he said. "Two older sisters and an older brother. My older sisters are both married to high powered company executives (trophy wives, I should say), and my older brother is a law student at Yale with his wife."
There was the faintest note of disgust in Ian's voice, but it was swept away easily and quickly as he turned the conversation around. "My turn," he said. "How did you hurt your eye?"
The bandages stretched over her face had not gone unmissed, after all.

She made sure to pay attention to what he said. Three siblings, wow. She would kill to have a older brother or younger sister. But she had Alaska, and her twin was the bestest sibling in the whole world regardless.
The disgust was noted, and filed away.
"Yale is a stuffy place." She commented easily.
The question about her eye caught her offguard, surprise playing on what features she had visible.
"Straight shooter aren't you handsome..." She stalled, musing over telling him. People would ask, she had to remember this. And he ahd seen her before she lost one eye, so it was only natural. Talking about it helped, she had to remember this. Talking about it made it less important, and more realistic.
"I went to the haunted house and met a very strong FEAR based creature. We battled, It won. Broke my arm, and my eye and left me for dead...." She gave a slow blink, "I'm pretty sure that's why Candace sent out the text message warning all the mist about the haunted house."
"My turn..." She waited, "Why did you become a hunter?"

Lying came easily to Ian, who was used to having to resort to underhanded tactics for a variety of things, but when it came to things like this - games to be played - he was surprisingly honest; most likely due to the fact that it was not a game if it was not played correctly.
"Must have missed that text," said Ian loftily, but Nevada's story gave him something to think about. He reached out a hand, gently touching his fingertips to her cheek and smiling serenely.
"You're still pretty even with them," he said lightly, and leaned back in his chair, linking his hands together against his stomach.
"I became a hunter because I got bored with the rest of my life," he said, and there was another note of disgust in his voice, clearer than the last time, but again, swept away beneath the rest of his words. "I didn't really fit in there, so I decided to take a chance elsewhere."
Another beat passed, and then Ian said, "Got a boyfriend?"

She appreciated well enough that most of her questions were answered quickly, and even more so that they didn't seem dishonest. Much like Ian's thinking, a game was no fun if you lied. But it was fun when answers were made to be worked for. She gave him the basics, he'd have to ask for more if he wanted specifics.
"I heard it was a pretty big deal, and a certain mist best friend of mine decidedly ignored it too, of course to find my attacker." Nevada sighed, "But I wasn't the first victim, the fourth from what I heard. A fair warning to you, if anyone ask."
She almost flinched when he hand came out to touch her cheek. She hadn't let anyone but Stormy touch the wound, or anything close to it. In fact she had been doing well to let her hair start growing over the bandages, hiding the shame underneath it.
Her eye shifted away, trepidition clear before she closed it and buried it away. Acceptance. People accepted it. She needed to be less vain about it. Less scared that it would scare people away.
"Oh Ian, You're making me blush like a schoolgirl here." She fluttered her eyelashes at him before laughing. "People keep telling me that I am pretty, and someone is going to have to roll my large pretty head around everywhere."
His reasoning didn't surprise her, but it did make her think. To be bored with ones life made you think what made it boring. Was it the people? Was it the situations? Was it job related before this? Or was it easy for him....Maybe too hard. A cycle that never stopped.
She blinked, then laughed again.
"I do not, had one before Island and he was...well he was a very first poor choice. Since coming to the Island....I've just had a couple crushes go up into flames." She cocked her head, "What about you Ian, Got a pretty girl that turns to putty with that charming smiling and very intensely gorgeous eyes? I have to say, I really like looking at them."
