It wasn't too awful of a day, even if it seemed like everything at school was.....less normal than even the usual less normalcy of things.
Such as the fact it seemed like there was a sudden boom in locks as an accessory. When had that become a fad? Had Thackkun just decided to lock everybody up and he would unlock them all when he was king as he had always dreamed? If so, where was her lock? Had he not decided to lock her because she would follow him anyways?
Tomoko hadn't thought too hard on the subject, anyways, and instead had decided to go on a walk - her, the hoshinotama, and the crack on her face. They all needed a nice bit of air. She loathed to think what would happen if she could..mold..on the inside. She knew there was some sort of mold stigma going on because of... Fear Infections.
But a nice walk out on the quad, maybe overhear some of the gossip and see what was going on? It was a rather excellent little plan, or so she felt. Just once around the dorm office and around all five of the buildings and she'd be all the more better for it.

There were places where Efreet probably should have been, like in his room studying, but instead he was out wandering around. He was walking around, fingers laced and intertwined behind his head. He rounded the corner where the dorm office was and...oops. He was crashing into another student and subsequently ended up on the ground.
He was blinking, then scrambling to get back on his feet. "Oh crap," he blurted out, hands snapping over his mouth and he skittered toward her, on his hands and knees. "I'm sorry! I guess I wasn't paying attention..." he glanced back behind him to see if anyone would be rounding the corner. "Are you okay?" He asked, finally on his feet extending a hand out to her.
"Really, sorry." He looked her over automatically, a lopsided smile on his face. "I like your outfit." He made no mention of the crack on her face. Easy diversion!

Tomoko made a high pitched noise when she was walked into, nearly dropping the ball of stars on contact. While Efreet landed on his back, she grabbed at the air, barely catching her prized possession before she too toppled to the ground, landing on her chest with the ball held above her head awkwardly.
Looking to the boil, she smiled meekly. "It's..it's okay!" Tomoko quickly attempted to assure him as she sat up, turning her ball of star's over in her hands to check it for anymore cracks before touching the one in her face. Fortunately it didn't feel like either of them had gotten any worse for wear. Phew!
"Are you alright?" she asked in turn, sitting on her knees, pausing to look at her clothing when it came to be the subject of attention, brushing her hand down the front of it. "Oh. Thank you!" Tomoko smiled. Distraction success!

"Oh yeah, yeah," he told her, nodding vigorously. "I'm perfect!" He made a gesture down his body. "Hard to really ding this!" He chirped. He demonstrated by hardening a portion of his hand then letting it liquify again. "See!" He was quite proud of his little show.
He was practically beaming when she accepted his compliment. "It's really different! Cool!" He wasn't very familiar with different types of clothing, especially kimonos. Technically he didn't even wear pants! He didn't mix too well with real clothes.
His eyes flickered over to the ball she held so preciously. He scratched his nose. "What's that?" he asked pointing with his other hand.

Tomoko grinned brightly at him as he gave her the rundown of his physical condition, though she couldn't help but admire the hardening of Efreet's skin, reaching out as if to touch him before she retracted her hand again. He looked hot (and not in the ooh la la way). "That's really impressive!" she chirped excitedly.
She lifted an arm to show him the patterning on her sleeve. "They'e called a Gi and a Hakama. Students from the same region of Halloween as I am are very likely to wear them too."
When he motioned to the ball she was holding Tomoko suddenly covered it with her sleeves, giving him a scared look. "It's..um...." her voice grew quiet. "mine........"

If he were a peacock, he'd be showing off his feathers as she complimented him. "Heh, I know." He picked at a solid chunk of lava rock on his upper arm. It was a pretty nifty ability. "Let's me alter shape sometimes too, though I can't just like, add weight to myself. Gotta work with what I've already got." He shrugged. He could make himself tall and incredibly skinny, short and very fat or a puddle of goo. It was quite exciting.
"I'll have to keep my eye," he pointed at it, pulling down on his bottom lid a bit, "out for that." She caught him off-guard when she suddenly hid her ball from sight. He frown, then stepped back. "Hey, it's cool. I know that it's yours," he told her trying to sound reassuring. "I don't have any interest in it, not in taking it anyway." He shrugged tucking his hands behind his head. "I'm mean, obviously it's important to you, I just don't know what it is."

She nervously picked at the crack across her face as he tried to assure her about the ball of stars. "Well if you tried to take it we'd have a problem for sure...." she murmured, hand dropping to carefully trace the matching crack in the orb in her lap. "It's a ball of stars. It....um...."
Tomoko nervously dragged one finger down her face, leaving a trail of red hot color across it. Then she placed her hand on it before pulling it down to leave a handprint of the same burning impression - a mimic of the boil's own burning flesh.
"Lets me do this....."

He watched her curiously as she named the orb. He frowned, tilting his head because he didn't quite understand what a ball of stars was. Or what it did. "I uh," he stopped because she started to demonstrate what it was supposed to do. He stared at her face, eyes slowly moving to the orb with a perplexed expression on his face.
"Uh," he scratched the back of his head, grateful that his skin was already red or he'd be flushed with embarrassment. "I don't really get it."
Okay, Efreet wasn't the smartest magma monster out there.
