Hel was not running away. That’s not what Hel did. So why was she dodging Mot every chance she got after jumping out her window? So that he wouldn’t worry. Of course, Hel never seemed to realize that acting like that and trying to brush it off just made Mot (or anyone really) more worried. Maybe she’d learn one day. Maybe.

That was a really big maybe.

Getting stalked all around Amity today though left her with little choice, and Hel found herself in the main building, down a hall with nothing but a few doors. Most locked, except for one, which happened to be nothing more than a cleaning supply ********>.”

"End of the line..." Mot grinned widely, stepping out from an adjoining hall way into the center of the long hall. His silhouette gleamed in the backlit passage, his arms raising up from beneath his pools of billowing fabrics cloaked over his shoulders. Spurs clicked as he shifted his weight, the metal glimmering in orange sunlight pouring from the windows.

"Nowhere left to hide, little lady."

s**t.”

Being at the end of the hall, the corner Hel was located in was cast in shadows (the hallway light bulb overhead was broken). Slowly she rose to full height from her hunched position, still cast in shadows, but an orange rim light outlined her form, from a nearby window.

She solemnly stared at the cowboil at the opposite end of the hall, and straight her posture. One hand held her knapsack more securely, and she flexed her fingers on her other hand.

“Was not hiding, cowboil.”

"No? Well.." He chuckled dryly, flexing his fingers at either side of him. "You sure are a hard ghoul to track down, yanno."

Mot didn't step forward yet. He had her cornered. He had the power now. "So I've got to say.. you sounded like you were in a wee bit of trouble on Critter, there. Care to elaborate on your... passing curiosity in broken weapons?"

That is not the only thing I make hard.” How Mot wanted to take that was up to him…How Hel was trying to get him to interpret that…well, that was another thing.

But any amusement from that was short lived, because Hel could see the shift in power at the moment, and that didn’t make her happy. “Who said I was in trouble?” She continued to deny. “Nothing wrong with being curious, Motty.” She replied, lifting her chin up haughtily.

Mot tried to keep face. She'd made a lude joke again. "I don't take kindly to such rude comments, little lady."

Mot raised a brow then, huffing lightly and shaking his head. "You must think I'm pretty stupid, little miss." He tsked, raising his hand slightly. "What say you prove it to me." In a flash of shadows and dark smoke, his shotgun appeared within his grasp.

"Show me what you got. Or do you got something to hide..?"

It is also a fact.” She replied, and then snorted.

“Nah, I do think you are stupidly pretty though…” The ghoul’s brows furrowed as Mot more or less forced her hand. Hel huffed. “I got nothing to hide!” She replied heatedly, and was maybe a bit bitter to see a fellow reaper’s weapon appear so easily in their hands and in one piece.

Hel, with as much pride as she could muster, which really was still a lot, held up her knapsack, which made a few jingling sounds as the pieces were rustled. “It is right here.”

"Flattery don't charge these batteries, civilian." Mot murmured with his head cocked back, his terra cotta gaze glowering down through deep set lids.

He lowered his weapon, eyes set on the knapsack with confusion. "Why do you carry with you kitchen cutlery in your satchel?"

Hel just snorted and shook her head. She then released a loud sigh. “No, it is not my kitchen cutlery.” She moved out of the shadows and came down the hall towards Mot, and she stopped before the boil. She cradled the satchel in both of her hands, and stared up at him expectantly.

“Open it.”

Mot stood his ground as Hel revealed herself from the darkness, his gaze lowering to the bag she held. Without much doubt, he pulled at the bag with a finger and looked inside.

"Hel... how did this happen?" He asked with concern.

“Ah...hunted down Trick or Treat Rage in the Bird Park so I could talk to him some more about Trick or Treating…but I needed to earn the privledge to talk to him, so he challenged me to hit him. So I summoned my spear and swung at him, and he grabbed it and crushed it. It splintered and shattered. He then punched me so hard into a tree I broke some ribs and dissipated…” Hel trailed off for the moment, and the bodily damage she had received was pretty much second thought. She didn’t linger on it, nor did she care.

It was her weapon she cared about.

Her gaze fell on it as well. “This has never happened before. I have never heard of this happening. No matter how many times I try, it will not dissipate, and it will not reform. I tried gluing it back together, and it just made it worse.”

Mot dismissed his weapon, his brows furrowed as he listened. He couldn't get mad at Hel for these things anymore. It's just how her life was. All he could do was support her.

"Nor I... Fear isn't always a simple thing. We scar and change because something with our core cannot be brought back." From what he'd learned from experience and Fear Healing courses, anyway. "Something inside you must have changed the day your weapon broke.. possibly. I don't know what else it could be.

"Have you talked to Nurse Cricket yet? Or perhaps a skilled Reaper professor... Malcolm?"

“Ya.” Hel nodded her head, and looked thoughtful at Mot’s words. Actually, what he said did make sense…since the weapon is an extension of them…if she had changed then maybe it was reflected in her weapon…? But why in pieces…and would it ever turn into anything else? Would it ever reclaim its shape? Hel looked like she swallowed a bug at the mention of Nurse Cricket. “No…not to her of all…” Hel had an aversion to going to the Nurse’s office for some reason. “…As for the reaper professor…” Hel shrugged.

“What could any of them do for me…if I could not do it myself?” She mused, and then snorted softly. “Yanno…maybe I should be devasted…but I do not feel like that. It is the oddest thing, Mot. I am worried though, ya…worried I will suddenly find a crack running long my skin, and then I will shatter too…” She laughed.

“So if I disappear and scatter to the wind one day, you know why!”
PostPosted: Thu Aug 29, 2013 7:16 pm

"Hel, do not be so full of yourself." Mot scolded with a scowl. "You and I are still scarelings in comparison to the professors. They know more than we do by proxy of experience." He spoke sternly, trying to break through Hel's often crippling entitlement.

"I don't wish to consider you shattering a possibility right now." Mot continued firmly, "Let's just address the issue we see before our eyes, shall we?"

Hel couldn’t help but snort and giggle as Mot got stern on her. It wasn’t that she thought it was funny, or that she was undermining the confidence he had…it was just….well…it was refreshing to see Mot putting his foot down. If that made sense. “Ya, but Mot, have you even seen a poster somewhere urging reapers to seek help if their weapon breaks? Or in the handbook, maybe? The answer is no, because it just does not happen…so that is why I am not confident in any of the professors no more than myself on this matter.”

And she wasn’t trying to let herself panic about Hyde and his ‘you’re doomed’ message. b*****d. She was going to make sure to extra pester him…

“What more is there to address?” He asked in earnest. “It is broken. I tried fixing it. It is not to be fixed. Maybe I will be next. No one knows~”
