I know its happened to many. I think it would be good for members to share there experiences and tell us about how they coped. Eventually maybe we can set up an online forum as kind of a support group for the members of gaia.

I was a loner. I still am, this guild and all its wonderful people have helped change that.

Growing up I was bullied from all angles. I was verbally and physically abused by my father until i was 15 when he took his own life. I was also bullied in school. I am a plus size girl, and a plus size target lol. I had one major bully in high school. he was even on my school bus. there was no escaping him.

truth is i didnt cope. after my father died i became bitter and angry. So much so that my mom was worried that i had the same mental disorder my father did. Finally my bully pushed me too far. He beat up my 12 yr old neighbor just for hanging out with me. I beat him up. he never messed with me again after that. I do not condone violence in any way. But i don't regret my actions either.

By the strictest means I suppose I was a loner but this was mostly because I thought everyone in my high school were idiots. People in high school tried to bully me and looking back it did hurt quite a bit but I never let it show that it was bothering me. The place that I have a lot of issue with bullying is the internet because there is no accountability and so everyone thinks they can be dicks and get away with it. we lose a lot of human sympathy by attacking people on the internet, all you know about them is what their avi looks like and that can change in the blink of an eye from cutesy and pink to blood dripping and black. I think that I am more vunerable on the internet because I can't see my attacker, which bugs me greatly.

I'm not exactly sure what you would have called me. I had several friends that I hung out with almost every day, so I wasn't exactly a loner. I was more the artsy, sitting in the library or hallway with her nose in a book type. I got picked on because of my weight and the fact that my family was so poor, and because of my religious practices.

When I entered high school, a lot of the bullying stopped, but I was still the girl who sat on the side lines and watched everyone else in her class go out to parties together and what not. I was liked by everyone, yet at the same time, I always felt like I was being excluded. So I started hanging out with the others like me. People who were considered "different."

The year I graduated, my circle of friends consisted of my bff Sonya, one of the most musically talented yet shy people I have ever met, the librarian's super genius son, our friend Justin, who acted more like a man in his 50's then a teenager, lol, and a group of freshmen that everyone considered "emo." We all endured a lot of nasty comments about how different we were from the rest of the student body, and to this day, I think the only reason any of us made it through those four years was because we knew we could rely on each other for support.

Luckily I never really had anyone get physical with me. Mostly it was the name calling and just generally being pricks towards me. :/ i guess it helped some that my dad was huge and could scare the living crap out ov anybody, even after he got in his accident and was either in a wheel chair or bedridden! (That, and my dad was best friends with the Sheriff, and a large number of my classmates got to witness him spoiling me rotten and dancing with me at a family wedding, lol) Sometimes things like that just shove you to your breaking point. I'm sorry to hear that they pushed you that far.

Bullying is becoming way to frequent a problem now-a-days it would seem. I've been hearing about it a lot from one of the girls I take care of. She has been being picked on by her best friend, who suddenly decided that poor Lauren was a prime target for bullying. She has went so far as to make up lies about her smoking and various other things in order to turn Lauren's other friends against her. She's being called names, pushed and tripped in the hallways, and one kid even grabbed her hoodie the other day and tried choking her while she was walking uo the steps to her next class! The poor kid has been thinking about switching schools because of the way they have been treating her. :c

well you know what they say, you can only back someone so far into a corner before they come out swinging. You may not be proud about what you had to do, but you were able to stand up for yourself and make them stop, and you should be proud of that.

I'm sorry to hear that they were so mean to you, but now they've probably learned better now that you straightened them out, and if not they'll look back on it when they have kids of their own who might be getting bullied and they'll feel awful when they see how their kids react to it.

I'm glad the issue with your niece was settled, unfortunately there isn't much more that Gaia can do about some of them. Unfortunately some that do get reported just turn around and make a new account to continue what they do.

(Late reply? yeah.) I was/am a loner u.u'' I was bullied during grade school, then I moved. The bullying stopped a bit, but it was still there. I ignored it. I moved again and developed pretty severe social anxiety and I am currently homeschooled. The bullying I received in grade school screwed me up mentally, and then I had an abusive parent (my mother) so of course that didn't help. Things are getting better for me though uvu
